LILY AND SIRIUS
The Order of the Phoenix held a special meeting on Halloween, 1980. Lily came out of hiding for the first time since January. Alice also came with her son.
New members Max Hart and Angelina Robins had been decorating the sitting room of Orme Square with orange streamers, pumpkins and ghosts.
During dinner, the entire Order sat at the table, eating and laughing. Neville Longbottom wouldn't stop crying, no matter how much everyone tried to pacify him. Harry stared at his little friend, as if wondering what kind of person behaved like this.
Remus, Sirius and Peter crowded around Harry, marveling at him.
"Harry Potter..." said Sirius dotingly. "The name does have a ring to it."
"Isn't he sweet?" cried Remus as the child clutched his finger.
"He's going to look just like you when he grows up, Prongs," said Peter.
"I hope he doesn't have his father's behaviour too," retorted Lily.
James looked highly injured.
"I hope he'll be exactly like James," declared Sirius.
A loud bang sounded suddenly. As everyone turned towards right where the sound came from, a dark figure flew through the room from the other side, snatched up Harry from Lily's arms and escaped through the window.
Screams and chaos ensued. James and Sirius were the first ones to react. They jumped up and left the house through the window too.
"Take care of Lily, Moony! We'll send a message if we need help!" shouted James after him.
Frank stood up quickly and followed them.
Moody, who had been fetching something from upstairs, came out running. Remus told him what happened while keeping a comforting hand on Lily's arm. Lily hadn't recovered completely from the pains of pregnancy and she looked dazed and numb.
"How could some outsider come in?" asked Alice in wonder. "We're all Secret Keepers of this house. Unless someone among us told them..."
Alice's ominous words hung over them like a dark cloud.

James, Sirius and Frank saw a dark shadow running at fair distance ahead of them. He was gaining speed steadily.
"Keep this a secret, Frank," gasped Sirius, and without waiting for an answer, quickly transformed into Padfoot. He had a lot of extra speed now. Padfoot shot through the road like a bullet and caught up with the kidnapper, and tackled him to the ground.
James caught up with them and snatched up Harry. Sirius transformed back and yanked off the person's hood. It was an unknown young person. Feebly stirring, he looked up in fright. Then without warning, he pressed his hand to the Dark Mark on his other arm.
Instantly Death Eaters began appearing on the spot.
"Protego!" cried Frank, casting the Shield charm around the four of them.
"Need to take Harry back safely," muttered Sirius. "Prongs, if we cover up for you, could you—"
"No!" said James. "We fight together!"
"Five of them, three of us—we might have a chance," said Frank in a low voice. "Ready?"
"Stupefy!" shouted Sirius, bringing down one.
"Petrifius Totalus!" said Frank, bringing down another.
Clutching Harry in one hand, James tried to Stun another, but one of the conscious Death Eaters shot a wordless curse at him. A purple light came out from his wand and entered James' body. He crumpled on the ground.
"PRONGS!" cried Sirius, horror-struck. Then as that Death Eater began reaching towards Harry, Sirius raised his wand and cried, "Crucio!" with tremendous force. The man fell to the ground, screaming.
"That's enough, Sirius!" said Frank, stunning the final Death Eater. Sirius took Harry in his arms and bent over James.
"Rennervate!" said Frank.
"Do we need to take him to St. Mungo's?" asked Sirius, his voice shaking.
Frank nodded. "I'll do it. You'd better take Harry to Dumbledore."
"But what about James?" protested Sirius.
"I'll take care of him, you know. Besides, you know the secret passages of Hogwarts better than anyone, Sirius. You take Harry to Dumbledore."
Sirius reluctantly agreed.

After dropping James at St. Mungo's, Frank returned to Orme Square to inform the Order. Lily insisted on going to St. Mungo's at once. On the way, Dumbledore's message arrived that he had Harry with him safely.
After some time, Sirius burst into the wizarding hospital and reached the floor where James was. He made for the door of the room.
A Healer stopped him. "Only the family of the patient is allowed in there, sir. "
"Are you mad?" shouted Sirius. "Let me go in to see James!"
"I'm sorry, sir," said the Healer firmly.
Sirius was on the verge of exploding. "You let me go in or I'll make you!..."
Lily heard raised voices and came out of the room.
"Sirius!" she cried, relieved. "You're all right. Come in..."
"Ma'am, only the family of the—" began the Healer.
Lily realized why Sirius was looking so furious. She rounded on the Healer. "Are you crazy? How dare you keep him out? He's James' brother!"
The Healer looked embarrassed and stepped aside. "I'm sorry, sir, I didn't realize—"
"Shut up," said Sirius curtly and followed Lily into the room.
James was still unconscious.
"What do they say?" asked Sirius, touching James' forehead gently.
"He's all right—he's just sleeping," said Lily reassuringly.
"Oh—thank God," whispered Sirius, the fear in his chest beginning to subside. "Thank God..."
Lily suddenly flung her arms around Sirius. "I don't know what we'd ever do without you, Padfoot."
