🖤 Chapter 1: New Student 🖤

~~~~~~~~~Your POV~~~~~~~~~
People usually aren't aware that they're weird; it's not until someone else points it out that the realization hits.
That's something I learned a long time ago.
Even as a kid, I noticed people tended to avoid me. Parents would drag your kids away, and some of the older kids kept their distance by choice. But it never bothered me, not then, I still had a lot of friends. Friends who I thought were normal, friends who saw me as normal.
I had an average childhood, nothing bad, nothing grand. I lost my parents when I was very young, but my aunt took me in when I was a baby and raised me as her own. She adored me as I adored her, and we'd play pretend together all the time. She always greeted my friends when they were around, offered them snacks, play tag. Things were good, things were normal.
Yet, when I started middle school, she was the one that told me to stop this nonsense with my imaginary friends.
At the time, I didn't understand why she was so upset, or why she described my friends as imaginary. But as I tried to maneuver my way through sixth grade, I quickly got my answer; no one could see my friends. No one could hear them, no one could feel them, they even laughed when I said they were right in front of them.
My aunt took me to many doctors to figure out why this game of imaginary friends didn't end, they simply said I'd eventually grow out of it. She seemed upset. I felt guilty. So I stopped bringing up my friends, I started playing a different kind of pretend, pretending my friends didn't exist so I could make new ones, real ones, so my aunt could be happy.
But the real kids didn't like me, they had already labeled me as the weird kid. The freak. Most of my imaginary friends left, hurt by my choices.
High school was no different; we had moved to a town in the middle of Oregon called Gravity Falls, which was a place that would allegedly tolerate my antics. Still, I spent my days alone, dreading every second until I tasted the sweet release of my bed at home, anticipating my graduation so I could move across the country and start anew. No one to call me weird, no one to call me Freak, and no one to ruin my new blank sleight.
Well, no one except for two. "RISE AND SHINE!!"
Hissing as the sunlight hit my face from the opened blinds, I turned my back to it, covering my face with my blanket, "Go away...."
My blanket was immediately pulled off, a cold rush of air making me shiver as a familiar voice spoke to me, "(y/n), it's been half an hour since your alarm went off, you're gonna miss the bus!!"
"Leave me here to die..."
I heard someone sigh, "Ally, get Midnight."
"On it!!" There was a scuffle from the side, and next thing I knew, a ball of fur fell on my face.
"Hey!!"
Childlike laughter filled my bedroom as I sat up, taking the fur off my face. Midnight, my old black cat with tiny white spots on her back, seemed unbothered by the whole ordeal, just pleased to be in my arms. She purred as I pet her back, and a yawn left my lips, "Good morning to you, too."
My two roommates were in front of my bed, their daily looks already clashing against the other. Andy, or Andrés, had his arms crossed and a scowl on his face as usual. His messy brown locks slightly covered his hazel eyes, and most of his milk coffee skin was covered with baggy clothes someone stole from Hot Topic.
Ally, or Allison, was the complete opposite of him, her bright smile and emerald green eyes lighting up her bright blonde, curly hair all the more. Her pale skin was covered in freckles from head to toe, her cheerleader outfit and puffed up jacket doing little to cover that, which she was proud of, and a scrunchy to tie it all together.
Never would I understand why I was put in this world with two people from the most different worlds possible, but we had managed to make it work.
Ally placed a hand over her heart, "We know you don't like going, but you need your grades to be perfect if you wanna reach your college goal!"
"Right, cuz college actually cares about grades," Andy rolled his eyes as he said that.
I rubbed my own eyes, another another yawn leaving my lips as I stood up and struggled to balance myself, "I guess Ally does have a point. Won't be going anyway if my grades are all Fs."
"Let's be valedictorian!!"
"High score at the most." Ally huffed at my response while Andy snickered. It was easy to tell what they were like back when they were in high school; Allison always did her best to have the highest grades, a straight A student, but very naive when it came to people. Andrés barely ever touched a book, never tried, it doesn't surprise me he never graduated. But he realize more on street smarts, and knows how to read people better than anyone I know, which comes in handy.
As for me, I just tried to survive my days here and blend in as much as possible, and these two always had my back, more or less.
Once dressed in my usual, I left my room and into the kitchen, where a small plate of pancakes was left inside the microwave. My aunt always left for work early, but she still always made sure I had something to eat. Heating it for a few seconds, I sat down with it at the counter and ate as my roommates lounged around. They never join me for meals.
"You know," Ally started as she sat on the counter, kicking her feet in a childlike manner, "Rumor has it a new transfer student will be joining us today!"
"Yeah? Who told you?"
"Victoria, from your Calculus class! Apparently it's someone famous, too!"
"Famous?!" Andy laughed tauntingly, "What kind of famous person would ever bound themselves to a place like this?"
"Well, many more acres have been bought in the woods lately." I finished my breakfast, setting the plate in the washing machine before turning to the others, "I wouldn't be surprised if there was a new mansion being built as speak."
He shrugged, "Not that I've heard of."
"Ooh, a surprise!" Ally clapped excitedly, "I can't wait to see who it is!"
"Only one way to find out," Andy replied after a sigh, then gestured me to move ahead, "Now c'mon, off you go. The bus already left without you, so we got a long way."
I rolled my eyes, though the smile had made its way to my face without realizing, "Yes, boss."
"That's MISTER boss to you!" Ally held in a laugh as she lowered her boss to mock Andy, which he wasn't too pleased about, and the three of us made our way out.
Allison's rumors might've heard right, because by time I got to class, just a few minutes after first period started, the students around were all gossiping and murmuring amongst themselves. Most seemed excited, eagerly anticipated the arrival of the new student, while others seemed a little annoyed, though that was the minority.
"Ohh, I wonder who it's gonna be!" Ally excitedly looked around, "Everyone seems to know them!"
"That's what happens when you get here after the morning period," a new voice said with a small giggle. It was a girl I had seen a few times before, with some of her dark brown hair tied back in an elegant bun; her dress was tight above, yet big at the bottom, all black with precise designs, and a corset binding them together. Her bright blue eyes were shadowed by the big, matching hat she had on, embroidered with red roses that complimented her fair skin, as did the dimples.
Ally's smile grew as she rushed over to give the girl a hug, "Victoria! I was wondering where you were!"
Victoria returned the hug, though unlike Ally's wild bear hug, she gracefully leaned in and placed her hands against her back. One would think she felt uncomfortable with the sudden hug, but she had a pleased smile on her face as she did, "I've been here for a while, not my fault you got here so late."
"Yeah, well," Andy leaned back against the desk I sat at in the far back corner, letting out a sigh, "Little miss (y/n) here refused to wake up this morning. We pretty much dragged her out."
"One of those days, it seems." Victoria looked at me with kindness in her eyes, I could see why Ally liked her so much.
As I rested my head against the wall, I let out a heavy sigh and muttered, "You have no idea.."
"Talking to yourself again, I see." A hand had been slammed against my desk, making me flinch back as someone else approached me. I had hoped no one had heard me speak, but to my luck, of course the person I dreaded the most was the one whose attention I caught.
In front of me was Melanie, the local Queen B, with her obnoxious zebra print zipper skirt and pink puffed jacket over her black tube top. Her hair was long and went from deep brown to caramel blonde, contrasting her dark skin and complementing her light eyes, and brown boots that reached under her knees, makeup flashy and accessories shining bright. The smirk on her face disappeared as she crossed her arms, "You're not gonna embarrass us today, are you?"
"I dunno, what's today?" I tried to keep my voice low, but the people around already had their eyes glued on us, making me feel all the more anxious.
Melanie laughed at my response, a mix of amusement and taunting in it. "You seriously have no idea?! How dense are you?! You'd think the little voices would tell you the latest gossip~!"
"I'll show you voic-!!" Ally had to cover Andy's voice to stop him and pull him back as his hands bawled into fists, with Victoria glancing away with a sigh.
I had glanced to them for just a second when Melanie ripped my headphones off me and shoved me back with a hand, her glare sharpening. "Listen here, you little bitch, today is an important day for everyone in this school. Hell, everyone in town! And I will not tolerate some mental hospital escapee to ruin this for-!"
"He's here!!"
At that, Melanie instantly looked at the door, fixed up her hair and rushed to her seat like did everyone else, running right through Andrés and Allison in the process. He shuddered at that, gagging, "Remind me to step aside the next time she wants to contaminate my ectoplasm."
"We'll take it from here, Vicky," Ally said as she gave her a polite smile, to which Victoria nodded and floated away.
Floated, ectoplasm, running straight through. I still had a heard time believing this was my world, a world filled with the supernatural, a world filled with ghosts.
And that the ghosts, who were said to be cruel, terrifying, make-believe creatures, were my only friends.
Andrés turned to me, his glare softening into something more caring, "You okay?"
I nodded only ever so slightly, placing one earbud over my ears as she lowered my head. Neither him nor Allison dared to say something more and risk more attention placed on me, so they simply sat midair as the class awaited a new arrival.
My mind began to wonder. This new student, what would they be like? A dumb jock, maybe? Someone who Melanie could bend to her will by lowering her top just a centimeter? Or maybe the bad boy archetype that would have everyone wrapped around their finger within a week? It had to be one of those in order for someone like her to be excited.
Then again, it could be just some shy, nerdy guy that hates attention, but why would anyone care about someone like that?
And just as I thought that, my eyes landed on the door, where someone new had stepped inside. Whatever I was imagining couldn't have been farther from the truth; a guy, tall and skinny, with messy chestnut hair and matching eyes that were covered by a blue and white baseball cap. He had a blue flannel on, one unbuttoned with a white shirt underneath and some old jeans.
He seemed confused, like he had stepped into the wrong classroom was about to walk out, when our teacher looked over and spoke, "Ah, Mr. Pines, welcome!"
That's it for the first episode! And to end things, here some character sheet!
Starting off with our protagonists! Keep in mind that this is just my version of (y/n), she changes depending on the reader as always, and Dipper's traits are mostly my personal headcanons so don't take them too seriously
And of course, Allison and Andrés, the new and improved versions of Alyssa and Aiden. I changed their names since the old versions were simply ocs I already had and added for fun, but the two have updated a LOT and are very different now, so I simply made new characters based on them, and I love them very much!
Chapter two should be out soon, I'm just adding some last details! ^^
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
❤️❤️❤️
