"Alpha Connie," Celia lead Azalea towards her closet, "wants you to wear something... nice." Aiden leaned against the doorway, watching the rogue with his mate. He couldn't believe he allowed the Rogue Ghost to stand next to his mate.
"Thank you Celia," Azalea whispered. Celia barely caught it, and she gave the other woman a smile. Like with most pack members, the Rogue Ghost already knew her name.
Celia nodded her head, going through her clothes, "You know. You remind me of someone I used to know."
Azalea forced herself to stare at a black turtle neck. She actually saw herself wearing it — maybe if life took a different turn. She hummed, "Maybe in a different life, Celia, in a different life."
Celia moved towards her, "I think you would look cute in a turtle neck. Let's find some jeans and some boots that fit you." She rested her hand on the True Alpha's shoulders. She started going through her shoes, tossing some towards Azalea, and digging through her jeans till she found a good pair.
She laughed, "Aiden, love, Azalea needs some privacy, and I don't think you need to be playing puppy guard at this moment."
"She's a rogue, and I refuse to leave you defenseless," Aiden crossed his arms, noticing the similarities, but he couldn't put his tongue in it.
"Defenseless?" Celia whipped around quick, and Azalea had to move quickly not to get hit in the face with her hair. "You think I'm defenseless?" She asked, clearly angry with her mate's choice of words. She understood he was worried about her, but she trained to be a warrior before she found out she was Beta Female.
"That's not what I meant," he added, but his mate shook her head.
"You can come back in a half of an hour," she finished for him. "Now go!"
Aiden glared at Azalea, warning her, before he left.
"I know I'm in no position," Azalea began to speak. She walked towards Celia, her eyes watching the Beta Female like she was her prey. "You need to realize that you don't know who I am, and you're leaving yourself vulnerable for attack — murder even.
"It's not what you want to hear, but even the greatest warrior can not win a battle they are not prepared for.
"What if I killed you? Right now? After you yelled at him for caring about your safety?"
Celia was lost for words.
"He did it," the Rogue Ghost whispered, "in a poor way, but do not mistake that in thinking that he thinks you're weak."
Celia nodded her head, "You uh... sound like you speak from experience."
Azalea shrugged, "I wished I did."
"You still haven't found your mate," Celia assumed, keeping a wary eye on the rogue.
Azalea took her shirt off, turning around. She reached for a nice lacy bra that didn't fit Celia correctly. "No, I did," she whispered.
"Um... rejection," she mumbled, gathering everything again as Azalea puts in the bra.
Azalea hummed, "Actually, he died. Murder actually."
There was a small knock on the door, and Sophia slowly entered into the room. Azalea pulled on her turtle neck before finding some underwear to wear.
"Sophia," Celia greeted before motioning Azalea to the bathroom. Azalea grunted, but understand that changing her bra and changing her panties require a different set of skills.
She left the room.
Sophia smiled, "I actually came to speak with the Rogue Ghost."
"I don't think your father nor your mother would be happy with that," Celia reminded her.
"I want to learn about my aunt, and she's the only person whose talking," Sophia explained, "unless you want to."
"Azalea was a dangerous woman," Celia spoke regrettably, walking over to the girl who she always saw as a niece. "I think you should get to know about her, but not when you're too emotional about it. You can't let her sob story cloud your judgement.
"And how would this woman even know about her? The woods are huge."
"She's been there for a while, right? And how we know what happens in there?" Sophia countered.
Azalea listened in the bathroom, sliding the jeans up to her waist. She glanced in the mirror. She had already taken a shower, but she couldn't believe how much had changed in her appearance and how much she still looked like when she was banished.
She opened the bathroom door after staring at her face longer than she expected. "After Azalea got banished, she lived as her wolf for years. Some say it made her more animalistic. She showed no mercy in the wild, fought to survive — like she always had."
Celia turned around, carefully listening to the rogue. "You look nice," she cut in, hoping she would stop. Celia didn't know Azalea personally before, but a part of her did feel sorry for the girl who got banished.
Nothing that day seemed perfectly cleared.
"What happened in those woods?" Sophia snapped the conversation back into place.
The Rogue Ghost smiled, liking Sophia more and more. "She made friends, but they couldn't keep up with her. She faced foes, most that she won. However, I'm sure she has scars to show when she was hit down pretty hard.
Rumor has it that she had to jump over a fifty feet canon one day to escape a group of rogues hunting her down."
Celia shook her head, "Now that would be impressive if it was true."
"Anyways," Azalea ignored the Beta Female, "she lived by herself, pretty peacefully for a while, but she was an Alpha. I wondered if living where she was hiding for years really was as pleasant as everyone else makes it out to be."
"You mentioned," Sophia added, deeply interested in the topic, "that Azalea had a dying mate bond."
Celia stared flabbergasted at the Alpha's daughter, "You've been speaking to this rogue without your father's permission."
"Well, he didn't tell me that I was older than Issac," Sophia crossed her arms. "No wonder why he didn't let me see my birth certificate."
Azalea chuckled, "Wait, Connie didn't change the information on it. He kept the evidence."
"He was going to tell her after Issac was going to beat her no matter what odds," Celia explained. "It wasn't going to be kept a secret forever. We just needed to do what was best for the pack."
Sophia stayed quiet.
The True Alpha knew what kind of betrayal the Alpha's daughter was feeling.
"He was taking away her choice, such a loving father move," Azalea shook her head.
