Me: Thank you thank you. Now, I hope you all enjoy the chappie

***WARNING: THIS CHAPTER IS EXTREMELY LONG. I'M NOT JOKING. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED***

Third Person POV

*Back at Wayne Manor*

Dick was seated at the large dinner table, moving his food around his plate with his fork. Bruce sat to his right at the head of the table. Dick looked across the table to the empty seat. Danny's seat.

Tonight was one of the rare nights that Bruce had dinner with them. Danny would never miss this night.

"Is something wrong Master Dick?" Alfred asked standing behind the boy's chair.

Dick put down his fork, "Have either of you seen Danny since lunch? I've left him alone but I'm starting to get worried."

Dick always acted like a parent towards Danny. The death of their parents had struck a chord with Dick and he was very protective of Danny. Even more so now that they fought by the Batman's side.

Alfred shook his head and Bruce said nothing as he continued to eat his dinner. Dick frowned at his surrogate father and was about to ask the man if he knew something about the younger Grayson brother when Bruce's phone beeped in his pocket.

Alfred frowned at the noise, "Master Bruce, what have we said about phone's at the table?"

Bruce smiled at the butler as he read the screen. His smile quickly disappeared and he stood up. "Something's come up. I have to go," Bruce explained. The billionaire exited the dining room and headed into the study.

Bruce walked up to the old clock, moving the hands to 10:47 p.m. The clock moved upwards on the wall and Bruce entered the hidden elevator. The elevator descended into the secret cave, located underneath Wayne Manor. Once the elevator stopped, Bruce rushed out and went straight to the Bat Computer.

He began typing into the computer and rushed to get his costume. While he was putting it on, Dick entered the cave via the hidden stairway. The older Grayson walked up to the computer. On the large screen was a map of the more abandoned area of Gotham. A blue dot was on the screen with the words CROW above it.

It was Danny.

He had gone out alone, without telling anyone and now he was in trouble. But why did he only contact Bruce? Why not Dick?

'He's probably in a lot of danger,' Dick thought worriedly.

Bruce emerged from the shadows, fully costumed. He pulled the cowl over his face and the kind face of Bruce Wayne was now replaced by the hardened features of Batman.

Dick rushed over to the container holding his costume and suited up. He adorned his domino mask, green tights, yellow utility belt, red shirt with an R insignia, and his black cape that was yellow on the inside.

He was pulling on his green gloves as Batman walked over to him. "What do you think you're doing?" the Dark Knight asked.

Dick, now dressed as the young hero Robin, finished pulling on his gloves and replied firmly, "I'm going to help my brother."

The lenses in Batman's cowl narrowed and he walked over to the Batmobile and climbed inside. Revving the engine he glanced at his partner, "Hop in," he stated simply.

Robin ran to the Batmobile and climbed in. Batman drove out of the secret cave, following the coordinates to his other partner's location.

Crow's eyes widened in fear under his mask as he stared down the barrel of the gun. 'No, it can't end this way. Stupid. Batman said this would be dangerous. Why did you go alone?' he thought to himself angrily.

"Any last words Bird Boy?" Zucco teased as he adjusted his hold on the gun.

Crow smiled up at the gangster, "Cover your mouth." In a flash of movement, the young hero removed smoke pellets from his utility belt and threw them onto the floor. They immediately began spilling out thick smoke.

The men began to hack and cough and Zucco tried to fire off the gun, but Crow was too quick. He lunged at the gangster, knocking him to the ground and the gun fell out of his hand.

The sudden movement aggravated Crow's injured knee, but he didn't dwell on it. He got up and limped out of the building. He looked around and saw an abandoned theme park. The young hero rushed as fast as his injured knee would allow him into the park.

The smoke had slightly cleared in the building and Zucco's goons checked on their boss. The man with the smooth voice knelt down and grabbed onto Zucco's shoulder, "Hey boss, you alright?"

Zucco sat up and glared at his men, "What are ya idiots standin' around here for? Get out there and find 'im" Zucco kicked his lackey off him with enough force that the men stumbled outside and landed on the boardwalk.

The other goons rushed out after him, each holding a pistol. Zucco followed after them and the four men made their way towards the abandoned amusement park. "Where'd he go?" asked the man with the gruff voice.

"He couldn't have gotten far with that bum knee of his. Look around! He'll be here somewhere," Zucco ordered.

Meanwhile, Crow was hiding in a run down carney game. He tried bending his injured knee. The second he slightly bent it, waves of pain shot through his leg. Crow sucked in air through his teeth in an effort not to cry out in pain.

Moving his hands to his utility belt, Crow removed a small communicator. He typed in a simple message to Batman.

'In over my head. Send help.'

After sending the message, Crow placed the communicator back on his utility belt and leaned against the wooden boards of the booth. The teen let out a quiet sigh.

He knew he never should have gone alone. He also knew that if his brother found out, he would kill him. But his brother had to understand his reasons behind it.

Crow was supposed to fall with the other Flying Graysons. He was supposed to die.

But he didn't.

In a final death defying act his life was spared, while the lives of his parents were lost. Crow lived with the guilt of that every day. The fact that he was chosen to live haunted him. Why him? What did he do to deserve life? What had his parents done to deserve death?

After the attack on the hospital yesterday, it had become too much.

*Flashback to yesterday*

Danny was lying facedown on his bed. The teen had just watched the news report on the hospital's destruction.

He thought he had gotten everyone out. He thought everyone was safe. He should have been faster. He should have known. He should have checked.

But he didn't. Instead he had failed once more to prevent death to those not deserving of it.

A knock on his door could be heard. "Danny? May I come in?" Bruce asked from the other side of the door. Danny didn't reply.

The door creaked open and Bruce poked his head in, noticing the teen lying facedown on the bed. The billionaire frowned sadly and walked into the room, taking a seat on the edge of the bed close to the boy.

He sighed, "I understand what you're going through right now Danny. But you have to realize that you can't always save everyone. Sometimes there has to be sacrifices."

Danny flipped onto his back and bolted upright, "I know that! I know I can't save everyone! I couldn't save those people, I couldn't save the hospital and I couldn't save my parents!"

Tears streamed down Danny's face and Bruce reached out pulling the teen close and wrapping his arms around him. Danny hugged him back as he sobbed into the man's suit.

"I know you hold guilt over your parents death, but you have to realize that their death wasn't your fault. You were not in any way responsible," Bruce soothed.

Danny looked up at the man as he continued, "Your parents loved you Danny. They wanted you to live. And I know they would be proud to see all that you have accomplished."

Danny sobs started to die down, "You can't let your guilt consume you. You can't focus on the lives you didn't save, you have to think of the lives you did save."

Danny wiped away the last of his tears, "They didn't deserve to die," he whispered.

Bruce lowered his head, "Most people don't." The older male looked at the upset teen and lightly gripped his shoulder. "You can't let your anger and guilt towards Zucco and your parent's death cloud your mind. For most of my life I was consumed with grief and anger towards my parent's killer. I have since then, slightly made peace with it."

Bruce clenched the hand that wasn't on Danny's shoulder into a fist, "The hurt is still there, but that's what drives me to do good. So no one else has to feel the pain I went through for all those years."

He ruffled the boy's hair and stood up, "Someday, the hurt might go away. It might not. But even if it doesn't, never act on it. Keep a clear head and try to keep a cool temper."

*End of Flashback*

He hadn't listened to Batman's words. Crow let his anger towards Zucco cloud his judgement and he foolishly went after the man alone. Crow grit his teeth together. It didn't matter whether he had gone alone or not. He came to give Zucco what he deserved and he intended to do just that.

Crow reached for a nearby board and used it to help him stand up. He peered out of the booth and saw one of Zucco's goons approaching. It was the gangly man with the obnoxiously squeaky voice. The gun in his hand was shaking and the man seemed to be terrified.

Crow let a sly grin grace his face. 'Too easy' he thought. The man approached Crow's hiding place and turned his back to the booth. Crow raised the board in his hand over the man's head and brought it down on him.

The man collapsed onto the ground with a grunt of pain, his gun clattering to the ground next to him. Crow climbed out of the booth and, using the board as a crutch, made his way through the park in search of his next target.

THE ALL MIGHTY LINE BREAK RETURNS! THAT IS ALL! CONTINUE READING!

Batman and Robin arrived at Crow's location. An abandoned theme park. The two climbed out of the Batmobile and made their way into the park. They entered the park and immediately saw an unconscious man.

The two heroes rushed over to him. Batman picked up the gun and threw it into a nearby booth. "Let's keep moving," the older vigilante suggested. Robin nodded and the two continued making their way through the park.

After wandering around for a few minutes, Robin was growing impatient. "Where could he be?" he asked.

"We'll find him. Don't worry," the Dark Knight reassured him. Robin huffed and continued following his mentor through the park.

WELCOME THE GREAT AND POWERFUL LINE BREAK! NOW RESUME READING!

Crow had taken care of another one of Zucco's lackeys. He had the larger man tied to a carousel horse. Of course, him crying out his location so that his other pals could find them was a problem.

Smooth Voice came running towards them. Smooth Voice jumped onto the carousel and Crow swung the board at him. Smooth Voice was able to duck underneath the board, but in doing so he fell against the carousel's controls and activated the ride.

Lights came on and cheesy music played on the loudspeakers. The horses began to move up and down and the ride started moving in a circle.

Tony Zucco heard the commotion and rushed towards the source.

Crow swung at Smooth Voice again and was able to knock the gun out of his hand. Using the board as support, Crow pushed himself off the ground and kicked Smooth Voice in the chest. He was knocked back and banged his head on one of the colourful horses. Smooth Voice fell to the ground unconscious.

Zucco arrived at the carousel and aimed his machine gun at the ride. "Don't shoot boss!" Gruff Voice shouted, "You'll hit us!"

"Then move outta the way!" Zucco yelled back.

Crow went to the controls and put the ride on maximum speed. The horses began to move faster and faster and the engine eventually started to overheat. Zucco couldn't get a clear shot, the ride was going to fast.

Crow jumped onto one the horses and, at the right moment, leaped off the ride and onto Zucco. The two fell to the ground and Zucco's gun was knocked out of his hand. Feeling a rush of adrenaline, Crow ignored his injured knee and ran slash limped towards the edge of the boardwalk.

Ignoring his gun, Zucco got up and ran after the young hero.

Crow grinned. Everything was going according to plan.

THE GREAT AND POWERFUL LINE BREAK IS BACK! RESUME READING!

Batman and Robin were still sneaking around the park when the sound of carnival music could be heard.

They shared a look and said in unison, "Crow." They rushed towards the source of the noise, hoping to get there before it was too late.

I'm the normal Line Break. Hi. Have fun reading!

Crow's heart was racing. He neared the edge of the boardwalk.

'Just a little more,' he thought, 'Just a little more.'

Crow stopped and turned to face Zucco, who was charging at his with a raised fist. Crow sidestepped away from the punch and grabbed onto the collar of Zucco's suit, throwing him at some discarded barrels.

Zucco cried out in pain and Crow rushed over to do it again. He grabbed onto Zucco and threw him at another group of barrels. After making contact with the second group of barrels, Zucco stood up shakily.

Crow landed an uppercut and a kick to the man's side. Zucco grunted and backed away from the teen. He bumped against a piece of the wooden railing, causing it to break off and fall into the water far below.

Zucco fought to regain his balance, but ended up falling off the edge. Crow lunged at him and caught the man by his suit. But he didn't pull Zucco up. Instead, Crow let him dangle there.

"No! Don't! Please!" Zucco pleaded, his eyes wide with fear. Crow grit his teeth and his eyes blazed with anger. He was putting too much pressure on his knee and the adrenaline was starting to wear off.

Zucco was starting to feel pretty heavy. Crow felt the fabric of the gangster's suit start to slip out of his grasp.

Hey! It's the normal Line Break again. I should be the last one. Enjoy the rest of the chapter!

Robin was the first to arrive at the carousel with Batman close behind. He saw it was going around quite fast. Two goons were on the ride, one tied up the other unconscious.

Robin heard an all too familiar voice cry out, "No! Don't! Please!"

He turned his head to see Crow leaning over the edge of the boardwalk, Tony Zucco in his grip. Batman noticed this too.

"Crow!" the Dark Knight called out running over to his other partner. Robin followed after him.

"Don't do it Crow! You can't do this!" Robin shouted to his brother. He wanted Zucco to pay for what he did as much as anybody, but not like this. Not with more death.

"It's what he deserves," the teen shouted back.

"But you don't want to do it Crow. You won't do it," Batman said, slowly approaching the injured boy, "You're thinking in anger. If you do this you will become just like him."

The anger faded from Crow's eyes. His grip went slack and Zucco started to fall. Batman dove at the man and caught him. He threw Zucco back onto the boardwalk and walked over to the terrified gangster, putting restraints on him and contacting the police.

Robin ran to his brother and helped him limp away. As the sound of sirens approached, the three heroes grappled onto a nearby roof. After grappling a little further away from the park, the three rested on a rooftop.

Crow sat down and Batman inspected his knee. He shook his head and said quietly, "I told you it was dangerous to go alone."

But Batman hadn't said it quiet enough, as Robin overheard his statement. He turned angrily to his mentor, "You knew about this?!" he questioned, his words laced with fury.

"Robin I'm fine," Crow assured him.

"No you're not! You could have gotten yourself killed! You could have killed a man tonight!" Robin shouted. He turned to glare at Batman, "And you knew about it! Why didn't you stop him?! Why did you let him go alone?!"

Batman stood up and turned to face his ward, "Crow needed to face Zucco and avenge the deaths of Mary and John Grayson."

Robin frowned, the lenses in his mask narrowing, "In case you have forgotten over these past two years, they were my parents too! I had as much a part in this as him!"

Crow shifted as he tried to stand up, "Robin, he was just-"

"No, don't defend him!" Robin interrupted, "He's always doing this! Putting others in harms way with little regard for the outcome! I'm sick of it!"

Robin turned and began to walk away. Batman followed after him. "Dick," he whispered.

Robin stopped walking. He whipped around and punched Batman in face, knocking the Dark Knight to the ground.

"No Bruce. There's nothing you can say that will fix things this time. Zucco was supposed to be mine as well. You put Danny in danger and then lied to me about it. There's no fixing that." Robin turned to his brother, "Let's go Danny."

Crow didn't move from his spot.

"Danny! Come on!" Robin shouted.

"No Dick. I'm not going," Crow replied firmly.

Robin's mouth opened in disbelief, "Why the hell not?!" he questioned.

Crow leaned against the wall, and slowly stood up, "Bruce raised us. He took care of us. We can't just leave him."

Robin scoffed, "He raised crime fighters, not us."

Crow didn't move. Robin frowned and turned away, "Forget it. If you want to stay with him, fine. See if I care! I'm out of here." Robin pulled out his grappling hook and disappeared into the night.

"Dick wait!" Crow called as he limped towards where his brother once stood. Batman grabbed his shoulder, "Let him go Danny. He just needs some time. He'll be back one day."

Crow looked from his mentor, to the dark city. Tears welled in Crow's eyes.

Dick tousled his brother's hair, "I'll never let you fall Danny. I promise."
