Third Person POV

Batman scoured the city from above. He and Commissioner Gordon had talked earlier (well Bruce Wayne and Commissioner Gordon had talked) and Gordon had spoken of Zucco skipping town soon. Apparently, 'The Batman' had Zucco spooked and he was fixing to leave town tonight.

Luckily, Gordon had let it slip that Zucco had been spotted on the lower East side of Gotham, thus helping Batman in his search for the murderer. He had been checking abandoned buildings all night, but he still had found no sign of Tony Zucco.

He frowned, his eyebrows knitting together under his cowl. If he had to, Batman would spend the rest of the night searching for Zucco. He wasn't going to get away.

I AM THE ALL MIGHTY BATMAN LINE BREAK! I AM THE NIGHT! FEAR ME!

Danny was in his room, putting on a warm jacket when Dick walked in. Danny whipped around and locked eyes with his brother. "What are you doing?" Dick asked.

Danny finished putting on his jacket, "I'm going after Zucco," he replied.

Dick's eyes widened and he walked over to his brother, "Are you crazy?! What makes you think you'll even find him. And say that you do find him, what will you do then?"

"I'll make him pay," Danny said coldly as he walked towards the window.

Dick sighed, "There's no talking you out of this is there?" Danny shook his head as he opened the window. Dick walked over to the closet and pulled out his jacket, quickly putting it on.

He walked over to the window, "Well then, you're not taking Zucco down alone," Dick stated as he helped Danny open the window. Danny smiled at his brother, but his smile quickly faded when he looked down.

The ground suddenly became very far away and Danny began to have trouble breathing. A sickening crack sounded in his ears and screams rang in his head. Dick placed a hand on his brother's shoulder, "You're not going to fall Danny. You've done this sort of thing with your eyes closed. If you don't feel good we don't have to-"

Danny frowned in concentration and pushed away his fear, "No, we're going." He climbed out the window. Taking a deep breath, he let go of the sill and dropped down. Danny's arms extended and he grabbed onto a nearby tree branch. He swung on the branch and landed safely on his feet.

His heart was pounding as Dick joined him on the ground by doing a similar trick. Danny took a few deep breaths and the two brothers began running away from the manor. "So where are we going?" Dick asked.

Danny's eyes narrowed as he remembered Bruce's and Gordon's conversation he had 'accidentally' overheard. "Lower East side of Gotham," Danny replied as the two headed to a nearby bus stop.

The bus halted and the two brothers got off the bus. "You boys sure you want to get off here?" the driver asked.

"Yeah," Danny replied as he pulled out a folded picture from his jacket. "You ever pick up this man?" he asked the driver as he held up a cut out photo of a man with short black hair, narrowed eyes and a sneer on his face. A picture of Tony Zucco.

The man looked at the picture, "Can't say I have. He you boy's pop or somethin'?"

Danny folded the picture and placed it back in his pocket as Dick replied, "Yeah, somethin'"

The brothers walked off and the bus pulled away. The boys walked around the area showing the picture to anyone they could find, asking if they had seen the man in the picture. They all said no.

The Grayson brothers were getting discouraged and it was getting colder and colder. The boys shivered in their jackets, stuffing their hands in their pockets. Suddenly, the brothers heard two people arguing in a nearby alley.

"I didn't take ya money Lenny, honest," a female voice said.

"Don't you lie to me Chi-Chi," a gruff male voice responded.

The brothers rushed to the alley and hid near the entrance. An ugly man with thinning brown hair wearing a brown suit was advancing on a young woman with long black hair, wearing a gray jacket over a red top and a light purple skirt. She clutched a silver handbag close to her.

"I'm not lyin'" the woman, Chi-Chi, claimed.

The man's, Lenny's, eyes narrowed on her handbag, "Oh yeah, we'll just see about that." Lenny reached for her bag. The two struggled for the bag but eventually, Lenny got the back away from her. He dug around in her bag and pulled out a roll of bills. Lenny held it up to Chi-Chi with a scowl on his face.

"Lenny, l-look I can explain," Chi-Chi stuttered as she backed away from the angry man.

"We're beyond explanations," Lenny replied as he grabbed her arm, pulling her towards him.

Danny leaped out from their hiding spot, "Leave her alone," he warned as he walked over to the man.

Dick smacked himself in the forehead. "Stay outta this punk," Lenny warned.

Chi-Chi continued to struggle against Lenny's grip. "Let go of me," she pleaded.

Dick rushed over to his brother's side, "He said leave her alone," Dick shouted as he kicked the Lenny in the shin. Lenny cried out in pain and let go of Chi-Chi's arm. She ran out of Lenny's reach as he clutched his shin and bounced on one foot.

"Why you little brats. When I get my hands on you," Lenny threatened as he advance on the boys. Danny and Dick slowly moved away from the man.

"Get away from 'im kids!" Chi-Chi warned. She noticed a fire escape ladder above them. "Jump!" she shouted. Dick looked up and saw the ladder. He jumped and grabbed onto the bar, pulling himself up.

Danny jumped up after him but just as he grabbed the bar, Lenny grabbed his leg. "Oh no ya don't," the older man said. Danny began to panic and he swung his other leg around wildly. He managed to kick Lenny in the face.

Lenny let go of his leg with a cry and Danny climbed onto the fire escape. The older man recovered quickly and jumped up, grabbing hold of the ladder. Danny and Dick backed away from the edge as Lenny climbed closer and closer.

The brothers reached up and grabbed the staircase above them. Just as Lenny was about to climb over the side of the bars onto the platform, the brothers kicked up their feet and aimed them at Lenny.

The man was launched off the fire escape and landed in a nearby dumpster, the lid slamming shut on top of him. Chi-Chi smirked and walked over to the fire escape. The brothers climbed down and landed near Chi-Chi.

"Come on boys," she told them, taking their hands and leading them away while Lenny screamed from inside the dumpster.

THE ALL MIGHTY LINE BREAK RETURNS ONCE MORE! NOW BACK TO THE STORY!

Chi-Chi had taken the boys to a diner. The three of them had ordered food and Danny and Dick were busy scarfing down what was on their plates. "Jeez, when was the last time you boys ate?" Chi-Chi chuckled.

Danny swallowed his food and took a sip of his drink before replying, "Sorry, but we're kinda in a rush."

Chi-Chi smiled and pointed to the picture of Zucco Danny had placed on the table, "Hey you can't expect to find this uncle of yours at this hour," Chi-Chi said.

A stout waitress with curled blonde hair and chubby face, wearing a light purple blouse, red skirt and white apron walked over carrying a pot of coffee. The waitresses eyes glazed over the photo. "Hey, I know that deadbeat!" she exclaimed.

"You do?" Dick asked.

"Yeah," she replied, "He's been 'ere. Always barkin' orders, never tippin'." She placed the pot of coffee on the table and pointed out the window at a dark building, "I seen 'im come from that buildin' 'cross the basin."

Chi-Chi turned to the waitress, "That place has been condemned for years, right Berty?"

Berty grabbed the coffee pot and began to walk away, "Yeah, and may it fall on his head, the rat."

Danny and Dick stood up quickly. Thanking Chi-Chi for the meal, they ran out of the diner and across the basin to the old building Berty had pointed out.

The two boys wandered the area near the building, looking around cars and in alleyways. Until they heard a crash coming from one of the alleys. The brothers ran into the alley they heard the noise come from and found a boarded window.

They peeked inside and had to hold back a gasp. It was Zucco! He was hurriedly packing a suitcase. The boys backed away from the boarded window. Dick tapped on Danny's shoulder, drawing his attention to a nearby phone booth.

Danny nodded and the brothers rushed over to the booth. Danny accidentally stepped on a soda can, crushing it beneath his foot and causing a lot of noise. The boys paused and looked behind them to see if Zucco noticed. They saw no movement.

The brothers quietly made their way to the phone booth and Dick opened the door stepping inside. Before he could even dial a number he heard Danny cry out from behind him. Dick whipped around to find Zucco holding Danny by the collar of his jacket.

"Let go of me!" Danny shouted, turning his head away from the mobster. Zucco grabbed his chin, jerking his head up to look at him.

"The circus boy!" Zucco cried, "What are you doin' here?" Dick rushed over and kicked Zucco in the shin, causing him to cry out in pain and let go of Danny. The boys began to run away but Zucco quickly recovered and grabbed the collars of their jackets. He pulled them back and clamped a hand over each boy's mouth.

"I was about to skip town cause of you brats. Looks like I'm gonna have a change in travel plans," Zucco said, a sick smile on his face.

Zucco cried out in pain as a fist connected with his jaw, causing him to lose his grip on the boys and get knocked onto his back. Danny and Dick turned away from Zucco to see a dark figure emerge from the shadows. It was the Batman.

"The only place you're going is jail Zucco," Batman said darkly. He stalked right past the boys and up to Zucco. The mobster reached into his suit and pulled out a pistol. He fired it at the caped crusader.

Batman dodged the bullet and quickly ran for cover grabbing the boys and shielding them. Zucco continued to fire. Batman removed a Batarang from his utility belt and threw it at Zucco once the shooting had stopped.

The Batarang hit Zucco's hand and he dropped the gun with cry. Batman rushed towards Zucco and the boys followed him. But Danny slipped and fell onto the rusty rail guarding the basin. The railing broke and Danny started to fall into the water.

Dick reached out to grab him but ended up falling in after him. Batman heard the two boy's cries for help and dove in after them. Zucco took this opportunity to get as far away from the Bat as possible.

Batman swam against the current towards the brothers. Batman grabbed Danny and held him close to his chest. Danny wrapped his arms around the Dark Knight's neck and Dick grabbed onto Batman's back.

The 3 of them were approaching the waterfall. Batman grabbed onto a nearby pillar but his fingers slipped. Batman quickly grabbed Dick and pulled him in front of him. He wrapped his arm around the two boys and pulled out a grappling hook.

Batman fired it at a nearby streetlamp. It latched onto the the lamp and the 3 of them were pulled up to safety. Batman dropped the boys gently on the ground.

"He's gone," whispered Dick.

Danny turned to the caped crusader angrily, "You let him get away! How could you let him get away!" he shouted.

Batman didn't reply. He turned away and pressed a button on his utility belt. A small black jet lowered itself from the sky. The roof opened up revealing 3 empty seats.

The brothers stared at the jet in amazement, "Where are we going?" Dick asked.

"Home," Batman replied. They all piled into the jet and Batman piloted the jet into the night.

THE ALL MIGHTY LINE BREAK RISES ONCE AGAIN! NOW BACK TO THE STORY!

They arrived in the Batcave and climbed out of the jet. The brothers looked around the massive cave, taking in all the trophies, technology, and gadgets. "Wow, this place is amazing. Do you live here?" Danny asked.

"This is where I work," Batman replied, "You two are the first, correction, second and third people to see it."

The boys looked around the cave some more, "Why'd you bring us here?" Dick asked.

Batman slowly approached them, "Because I want to know just how much you boys want Tony Zucco."

Danny titled his head at the Dark Knight, "What do you mean?"

"Who are you?" asked Dick.

Batman reached up and removed his cowl. The boys gasped as the face of Bruce Wayne was revealed. The elevator door opened and Alfred entered the cave. He noticed the boys standing in front of Bruce and walked over to them.

"I take it Master Dick and Master Danny's stay will now be indefinite," Alfred said with a smile. The brothers looked from Alfred to Bruce and smiled.

Staying with Bruce Wayne was certainly going to be an adventure.

A/N: So I hoped you all enjoyed that chapter. Now I have a very important question. What should Danny's hero name be? Dick's is still going to be Robin and when the time comes Danny will be Danny Phantom but until then, I'm looking for suggestions on what his name should be.
