Princess ached all over. She was distraught, clearly out of her natural mind. She did know that lights sporadically passed over her face.

The truck was silent. She felt Ed stroking her face. He was rocking back and forth, scared out of his mind.

Tears dripped from his chin and onto her face. Thomas kept looking at them through the rear-view mirror.

He blamed himself. He shouldn’t have cheated on his wife. He shouldn’t have brought Princess into his life when he wasn’t even divorced yet.

What was he thinking? Did he truly love Princess? He battled his emotions. He didn’t know what he wanted.

Everything happened so fast. Everything was so convenient. His father once taught him that if a foundation wasn’t met
then a relationship couldn’t be built. The house would topple like sticks.

The debris would be washed out to
sea with the current.

Why didn’t he listen?

Now Princess might be losing the baby.
