21. Pregnant
In good spirits, Princess was holding Thomas’s hand while he drove his Monte Carlo over to Georgia’s house.
She couldn’t believe her good fortune, that God has blessed her and changed her life.
In the blink of an eye her life has been shifted heavenward, showing her everything she has been missing.
The only problem was that Tina now knew she was pregnant with Thomas’s child.
Was she ready to deal with the nuclear fall out?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Plus she still harbored a secret hurt for allowing herself to sleep with Ed behind Georgia’s back.
I should tell Thomas? No. I can’t. I can’t do that to him.
I’m pregnant and I am happy. I want to be with him and I can’t risk losing him again.
I can’t breathe without him. I can’t
hurt Georgia. I can’t do it to her. She’s so sweet.
But the hooker in me wanted Ed’s money. Who knew that the man she once cursed out was the father of her child?
Who knew that her prostitution days were finally gone?
It wouldn’t even be hard to let go because true love has pushed all desire to be with other men from her heart and soul.
She told herself that she would read the Bible and go to church and nurture the good things that were
happening to her.
The times she slept with men and charged them for it would forever be a part of her.
She would always remember the misery she faced when giving up her body for money to feed a sick need to be loved and to feel special.
Thomas smiled, turning up the radio. An old Aretha Franklin cut was on.
“Giving Him something He can Feel.”
He could remember his mom and dad used to dance to this song when he was growing up.
He used to sit on the couch; eating his candy and watching them love each other and stroke each other’s hair.
He told himself that when he was older he would treat his woman the same way.
