Chapter Five, Helping Kai

Evie glanced up at her older brother as he played with her golden curls. Malachai still couldn't quite believe that he was free of the wretched Prison World. And that his favorite sibling had saved him.
"Remember what you used to call me, until Liv snitched to our abusive sperm donor?" She asked him.
"My little Ophelia with your gold curls and taste for cherry pie, although I gotta say, I'm shocked about your mate but as long as he treats you like the Queen you are, I have no objections," Kai answered, as he kissed his little sister's forehead.

Evie snuggled into her older brother who she had missed dearly as her mate collected all of the sketches Kai had drawn in the Prison World.
"You are not an abomination, Kai, he was jealous, they were all jealous and they had no right to treat you like that," Evie stated seriously, as her sapphire blue eyes met the dark ocean blue of her favorite sibling.
"And the same goes for you as well, Olivia and Lucas had no right to treat you the way they did, our damned father will suffer in Hell for the torture he put us both through," Kai swore, as he held his baby sister close.

Even though he and Josette were twins, Josette had never actually tried to help him or shield him from their father's abuse. She knew how much their father hated Malachai and how much he despised Evie for being just like her favorite brother, in Joshua Parker's eyes, they were outcasts, not fit to be part of the Gemini Coven. For they were both Siphoner witches, yes, but just the fact that they also resembled his late wife, drove him to commit countless acts of abuse and neglect against Malachai and Evangeline Parker. It was a miracle that Evie had not murdered her own triplet siblings, the way that Malachai had.

"I missed you so much and not even Josette would help me bring you back, I missed you so much, fratello," Evie whispered in Italian, one of the many languages she and Kai had learned as kids.
"I missed you just as much, if not more, my darling Sorellina, thank Hecate your mate is true to you and will do whatever it takes to make you happy, he's a good man," Kai murmured.
Kol reached out a hand to his new brother in law but was shocked when Kai pulled him into a brotherly hug.

The Original Psychopath couldn't help but tear up as he returned the familial embrace. His own family had neglected and abused him the same way Joshua Parker had done to Malachai and even Evangeline Parker.
"Thank you for loving my little sister, she's the only family I have left," Kai murmured, and Kol smiled happily at feeling the sincerity coming from the Siphoner.
"Of course, I'll always love her, and when we do have children, you'll be godfather along with Marcel as he and his adopted daughter, Davina, helped us save you," Kol explained.

Evie clapped her hands in joy as her favorite sibling and her mate came up with a handshake.
"You'll adore Davina and Marcel, I'm sure you'll find them very interesting, I'll have to see if Gia will also be free to meet you, we're a real family and you're finally coming back home with us, fratello," Evie rambled adorably.
"I call dibs on hurting the ones who hurt Nikolai," Kai smirked, as Kol turned wide eyes to him. And then he seemed to realise how Kai knew his first name and his own dark eyes found the mischievous gleaming blue irises of his beautiful mate.

"Of course you would tell him my true name, it's only fair then, Malachai, that I get to do the same for you and Evangeline, trust us, you'll get along immensely with Marcel and Davina, and Gia once she returns from Italy, welcome back to our family," Kol smirked and Evie groaned as she realized her favorite sibling and her mate were going to be partners in crime. She reached her hands out to them as she focused on pulling them out of the Prison World.
"As for the others who left us behind, we'll have our revenge, everything for our family and no one gets left behind or forgotten," Kol laughed darkly.

"That's what Ohana is and that's what we are, no matter what, now let's go back home, you ready, fratello?" Evie asked one last time.
"I've been ready since I saw your adorable face and heard you ranting about wanting cherry pie, like we were kids again, let's get outta this hellhole, sorellina," Kai answered, as he tightened his grip on Evie's and Kol's hands.

"And we're outta here!" Evie cheered as she pulled the three of them out of the Prison World, landing in hers and Kol's massive house, back in New Orleans, in the present time. Marcel and Davina were waiting for them, eating the late lunch Evie had made before they had left to rescue Kai.
"Your mate is definitely a Godsend, he definitely holds a lotta power which is good for you, ooooh, starfruit and Chai boba tea!"

Kai immediately began chowing down, as Evie followed him at a much more sedated pace, filling his plate with fresh ham, homemade mashed potatoes, cucumber salad and a few red velvet cupcakes, while Kol handed the starving Siphoner a cup of Dr. Pepper. As Kai ate, Evie and Kol joined Marcel and Davina in studying how to destroy the Prison World.
"What if we were to key it to mine and Evie's magical signatures? That way, only the two of us are able to throw our enemies into it, if need be," Davina suggested and Marcel immediately agreed.

"I'd say tie it to Kol's magical signature, as mine and Kai have very similar magical signatures and I'd rather not have him ever been stuck in that hellhole again," Evie stated and as she then chanted the words in Latin, the Prison World disappeared, never to be seen again, only keyed to the magical signatures of Davina St. Claire and Nikolai Mikaelson.
"Can we get a dog, Evie?" Kai asked and all that was heard was the playful groan of Evie and the rambunctious laughter of Kai, Kol, Marcel and Davina.

Later that night after getting Kai settled into one of the guest bedrooms Evie was sat up in bed reading while Kol was in the shower when she suddenly got lost in thought of one of the many times Kai had comforted her after Liv called her a freak, but the current one on her mind was when she was five years old and a few days before Kai attacked their other siblings and was sent to the wretched Prison World.

~ Flashback ~

"Liv, Luke. I want to show you something!" Five year old Evangeline Parker said excitedly to her older triplet siblings.
"What is it? Why can't you bother someone else?!" Five year old Olivia Parker demanded, hands on her hips. Evie ignored her and grasped her sister's hand causing a red glow to surround their hands while she held up her right causing butterflies to erupt from her hand causing childish giggles to escape her lips. That is until Liv snatched her hand back in horror while she and Luke backed away from her.
"You're a freak! You're a freak, Evie!" Liv spat at her.

"Don't say that!" Evie shouted, stomping her foot, which also glowed red when it hit the ground. "Lukie?" She asked, reaching out a hand for her elder brother.
"Freak!" Luke spat at her, causing little Evie to scream in anger and her magic to burst out of her pushing her older siblings to the ground before she ran away crying to the fort Kai had built years ago. It had been one his solitude, a solitude that he shared with Evie when she came along and was abused just like him.
"Sorellina? My little Ophelia, what's the matter?" Kai asked worriedly, throwing his comic to the side as he took his baby sister into his arms where she proceeded to sob her little heart out that made the roaring fire become an inferno within her.

"They called me a freak, Fratello." Evie sobbed brokenly, in his arms. Kai picked her up kissing the top of her head as he held her on his hip.
"You are not a freak, my sweet sister. Never think that. Don't worry they'll get what's coming to them. All of them will." Kai swore darkly, knowing they judged his sister because not only was she his favourite but she was powerful and a Siphoner like him, well half Siphoner, but like him she had their mother's sapphire blue eyes, her sassy attitude and their mother's blonde curls. Three things that made her hated and despised in their siblings and sperm donors eyes.
"Don't leave me." Evie begged, wrapping her tiny arms tighter around his neck as she cried.
"I will never leave you. I promise." Kai swore, but unfortunately, thanks to their family he couldn't keep that promise.

"Love? What's wrong?" Kol asked, noticing Evie was sitting on their bed crying as he came out of their bathroom.
"Nothing. Just a memory." Evie said, wiping the tears off her cheeks.
"I promise you are never going to be hurt again and I promise you, you and Kai will never be separated from each other ever again and nor will our children experience what the three of us have." Kol swore, nor kneeling besides Evie.
"I love you Kol." Evie said happily, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Hmm our children, huh?" She asked giggling.
"Yes love, our children." Kol responded, waggling his eyebrows suggestively at her and making her laugh. "I love you too, my Gemini."
