Chapter 9

Devin Pov
A game? Really? What is he, five? When Dylan just decided we were going to play, I wanted to murder him. I have read too many books, watched too many movies, and played to many video games to know that you don't accept an offer from the enemy as soon as they give you one.

"Dude, at least negotiate with him!" I yelled at Dylan.
"What do you mean negotiate? (Y/n) life is in danger and you want him to listen to our terms and conditions? He doesn't care what happens to us!" Dylan snapped.
"Still, tell him we'll play if this is a game we can win and get out of alive or something! We will be of no use to (y/n) if we are dead!"

I let out a sigh. I swear, some people don't think. No wonder my mom is great at her job. I looked to my friend that was in the creep's arms above. If we want to get her out, as well as us, alive, we will have to be smart about this.

"Ok you Poison Ivy/Dragon wannabe! We will play your game, but we have a few conditions!" I called out to him.
"Oh really? You know, I don't have to give you this opportunity to 'save' her. Besides, it's to show your true love for the girl. No safety net attached, prove yourselves worthy! So I will repeat: Are you willing to give up your life for her?" the beast asked.

Damn, that's right. He said something about giving up our lives for (y/n), but why does he want us to prove that we care for our friend?
"What game are we to play?" I questioned him.
"Before I can answer, I want to know if you will, for a fact, play my game. Once you give me your final answer, only then can I tell you what your challenge is."

I looked to the rest of the group. I find it funny how the two adults are pretty much silent during all of this. Are they that much of cowards?
"Guys, I don't want to seem mean, but I don't want to risk my life for (y/n)." Chloe admitted.

I know she is scared but we have to save our friend. I mean, she's probably more terrified than us right now.
"We can't leave her in the hands of that......THING!" Dylan snapped.
"I highly doubt he would kill her, I mean, he would have by now...right?" Chloe pressed on.
"No, but that doesn't mean he won't do something to where she wished she was dead! What if he beats (y/n)? Tortures her?" Dylan retorted.
"We will save her, but not this way." Mr. Wilson finally spoke up.
"Then what way? You haven't said anything and now you act like you know what to do?" Dylan yelled.
"We need to go back to get the authorities." Mr. Wilson tried to calmly explain.

I gave a deadpanned look, "They didn't even follow us in here because of the demon in the forest!" I argued and pointed to the flying bat-man. "What makes you think they will change their mind?"
"It's their duty to protect people!" Chloe assisted he dad's argument.
"Tick tock, the door to this opportunity is closing. If you don't accept then you must leave and never come back. I will even personally see to it that you get out of my forest without a scratch." He sounded too happy for us to just leave.
"If we accept this game, and win, you promise to let (y/n) go without a fight?" I asked. He may have been a good distance from us but I could easily see his grin.
"You have my word."
I looked towards Dylan and the others. I'll take this challenge!
"I'll play!" I called out
"Me too!" Dylan chimed in.
"No! Kids, you are my responsibility! We can figure out another way to help (y/n)." Mr. Wilson argued. We may not get along well, but that definitely isn't going to change now.
"I will play as well." Jay joined. I was surprised, wasn't he suppose to side with his boss? I looked back towards (y/n). She was still fighting in the monsters grip.

'Don't worry (y/n), we'll save you!'

Demitri's pov
"Stop struggling little rose; I'll put you down after we get the show started." I whispered to her. I still had my hand over her mouth to keep her from ruining the surprise of what's below us. She had tried biting my hand but my skin is rather tough. Even sharp objects have a hard time penetrating my skin.

Oh how I can't wait to get you back home, a little punishment here and there from her running.
Of course, I might have known she was going to run but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop her. That wouldn't be any fun now, would it?

Once I heard the words 'I'll play' I grew excited. Two of them don't wish to play but that's fine, as long as I have some sort of entertainment I'll be fine.
"Come on and tell us what we have to do!" I hear the dark headed boy yell. I grinned sadistically, I will kill him myself. He's the one that gave my poor vine a nasty scar.
"I take it as the other two are not playing so I will set them free now." A line of fire cut across the center of the ring, separating the two humans from the rest of the group. Their half of the circle's fire was then extinguished.

I knew what was to happen next would be considered cruel but oh well.
As soon as the fire went out, my pets attacked the two. Really, it pissed me off. Did they not think my rose was not worth their life? And they call this friendship. Tch.

Their screams of agony and pain filled the air as they were torn apart. It caused my love to struggle even more.
"Shhh, these vile creatures are not worth your tears." I whispered to her.
"Mmmmpphh!" she tries to scream. She is so cute when she's mad!
"What the hell?! You promised to let them live if they chose not to play!"

I gave a wicked grin, "Trick question! Now on with the game! It is very simple, I'm sure you have played Hide-n-Seek before, right? Well, I will take little (y/n) and we will hide while you three seek!"
"How are we going to find you in a place like this?!" the tallest male screamed.

I let out a booming laugh, "I guess I could give you a small hint. We will be back at my palace, now the closer you come, the worse things will get. Everything here will try to keep you from reaching your destination. They will keep you from taking their goddess."
"You're a sick bastard! How will we know that you will even keep your word?"The vine cutter yelled.
"Oh, I know I'm a sick bastard. As for me keeping my word? You don't know, you will just have to hope I do! To be fair, though, I will let you have a fifteen minute head start. No magic and no monsters! Now let the games begin!!"

With that said, the flames went out and I teleported away with my little flower. We arrived in the special room that had held the enchanted pool. Once our feet had touched the ground, (y/n) jerked out of my arms.

(Y/N) pov (finally)
After jerking out of the demons hold, you stood a great distance away from him. What he had done was too cruel. How could he kill one of your friends? They were going to leave him be! Isn't that what he wanted? Why? Why couldn't he have just set them free?!

Before you could stop it, or worry about the consequences, words ripped through your lips, "I hate you!" you yelled at Demitri.

He seemed taken aback, his once sly smirk transformed into a scowl. "You don't need them, you only need me." He snarled as he walked towards you. You take a step back, making him made is not the best thing you could have done. He holds your life as well as your friends in his hands, he proved that earlier.

"H-hey, what's that?" you asked, hoping to divert his attention from you as you pointed to something behind him.

Demitri raised an eyebrow and looked to where you were pointing. It was the pool. His face then held the sly look again. Dang did that look make you nervous. It was like meeting him all over again.

"It's kind of like a crystal ball but less likely to get broken." He walked over to it. Standing next to it, he beckoned you over with his pointer finger with a 'come here' motion. You slowly walked to him but stood on the opposite side of the pool.

He waved his arm over the water and an image of your friends appeared! Before you could hear what they were saying, the images faded. You looked at Demitri with a questionable expression.

He just smiled," We don't need to know what they are talking about."

A sudden movement caught you eyes as vines wrapped around your wrists and pulled you down onto a makeshift throne like chair. Vines then wrapped around the base of the tree like throne, tying your legs together. You were soon strapped down, not to tight but tight enough so you couldn't escape.
Demitri walked around the pool and got in front of you. He knelt down so he was eye level with you.

"Besides, we have to figure out what punishment you should have." His grin widened, showing off his very sharp teeth.

You didn't really fear him before, but now, after today, you really were scared of him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

What kind of punishment do you think you should get?
