Chapter 25

"Where are we?"

"The Afterlife."

"Okay okay, seven books in a series are called."

"Herpetology?"

"Mom?"

"Castiel come meet your dad."

"You've gotten so big and handsome."

"Dad." Castiel choked out.

Now...

"Castiel..." Lucien whispered. He was seeing his son for the first time since he was snatched from us.

"Mom?" Castiel looked at me for directions. I nodded and smiled at him, trying to assure him. I had never dreamt of him meeting Lucien but this was euphoric, both of them together was something I always wished for.

"D-dad..." Castiel choked out as he stepped forward towards his father. They hugged each other and held on tight, memorizing the feeling of being in each others arms. Their bond of father and son was as strong as a gods life tread.

"Oh God, look at you... so handsome." Lucien said in awe. His eyes glistened with unshed tears. He then turned to me and gave me a hearty laugh. "We made a beautiful son." I laughed too and joined in the hugging festivities.

"Not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here?" Lucien asked as we all sat at a table in the backyard surrounded by lavender and rosemary.

"After seeing you that day... I just had to bring Castiel." I explained.

"I'm glad you did and I'm so happy to see you but my love, this is the afterlife. It's no place for the living and there are consequences for being here." Lucien explained to me.

"I know but if it our positions were have switched wouldn't you do the same." I said to him. He sighed a hit of realisation behind his irises emerged.

"I suppose you're right." He admitted.

"Anyway, tell me about you." he said looking at Castiel; his hand had covered mine while his other wrapped around my waist. Castiel watched us with a smile.

"I'm sixteen in a couple of days, Err I play the piano. I a real nerd." Castiel said with a nervous chuckle.

"Looks like its in our genes." Lucien laughed to me.

"What is?" Castiel asked curiously.

"I was a super nerd in school, braces, glasses and all so was your mother." Lucien laughed.

"Urm excuse me, I never had braces or glasses." I corrected him.

"Yeah, you was really hot." He admitted.

"WAS?" I shrieked and pulled away from him.

"Oh no my love, you know you're not hot... you're beautiful." He pulled back and kisses my forhead.

"You guys should go." Lucien sighed, disappointment clear in his voice.

"We'll be back." I kissed him. "I know you will." He laughed and rested his forehead on mine then went hug Castiel whispering something in his ear. Castiel nodded and came and wrapped his hand around me.

"I love you." I told Lucien. I was so close to breaking down and I think from my last date with death Castiel knew.

"I love you, I love you both." Lucien said.

"Sugar pie."

...

I shot up gasping for air as I came back to reality. Castiel doing the exact same. My eyes were suddenly hazy with tears, tears that I knew I couldn't shed. I couldn't break down again, not in front of Castiel. I couldn't put him through all that again.

"Mom..." Castiel reached over hold my hand, and as I panted I found a familiar kind of comfort in it.

The next day was clear and sunny after a night of snowfall. All of nature was blanketed by white fresh powder.

Pandora had clung onto Castiel like a snake. Although he didn't mind it much. Seeing that way his mother was around his father only hurt him. You could feel the aura of love. He couldn't of imagined the pain his mother was going through. She had been so strong.

"Hey mom... why don't we go outside for a bit." He asked his mother. Pandora smiled and nodded and went to fetch a jacket.

"Don't forget your gloves and beanie." Pandora called out to her son.

"I wont!" he called back, and true to his word he came back with a bright pink beanie. Pandora barked with laughter.

"Come on mom!" he said enthusiastically.

"Coming, coming." She laughed and followed pursuit. Just as she got outside, Castiel launched a snowball at his mother who quickly ducked with her quick reflexes.

"Oh its so on." Pandora grinned at her son, and after a game of war the laid on the snow, exhausted.

"Thanks angel." Pandora said softly.

"For what ma?" he asked confused.

"For being an amazing son and for the last days you let me cling onto you, I'm suppose to take care you and yet its been the other way around." Pandora said.

"Mom, we take care of each other and I'm pretty sure I'm a mommas boy." He laughed it of.

"You're the best son anyone could ask for." Pandora said.

Its really good, not like the other chicklit books in a good way. I'm honestly so in love with the characters, especially 'beauty' . read the book and you'll get the quotation marks...
