At the hotel Suite

Sonia silently went to the bedroom and took her night wear to refresh in the washroom and change.

Vinay was observing her but didn't not retort. He took his laptop and made a call to Aparna to discuss tomorrow's meeting with the authorities for the legalities of the resort.

Sonia came out of the washroom and saw Vinay smiling and talking on the phone.

She ignored it and went to sleep to forget the incidence that happened in the festival.

"Yes, Ms. Aparna. Tomorrow at 10 in the morning. Please bring the files for the meeting that I gave you the other day for corrections." Vinay spoke on the phone looking at Sonia struggling to sleep.

"Sorry, Mr. Vinay, I don't have the file. I gave it back to you to recheck it. But since there was a minor change done this afternoon by the secretariat, I need to include the same in the documents. So, I would require it. Should I come to your suite to collect it?" Aparna talked from the other side.

Vinay denied it and said that he would meet her in her room. Sonia was hearing to their talk attentively as she was still angry at his behaviour.

Vinay saw that Sonia was asleep and didn't want to disturb. So, he went out without informing her.

As soon as he shut the door, Sonia jolted up on her bed and spoke

"He didn't even inform me! How rude! What does he think I am? Just because we are not married in the right sense. Doesn't mean that he can act like a total stranger to me?"

Saying so she got up from the bed and marched towards him to ask for his reasons.

Vinay came to Aparna's room and rang the bell.

Aparna opened the door to reveal in a scanty night wear with the intention of alluring him.

Vinay didn't mind her and gave her the file. She smiled at him and invited him in her room.

"Ms. Aparna. We can discuss it tomorrow. Ok." Vinay tried to tell her and leave.

But she immediately spoke "But, Mr. Vinay. We don't want to forget the crucial details. I want to clarify on everything just so I don't miss any points. Please?"

Vinay looked towards his room and thought that what she was telling was somewhat correct. As they had come all the way to make the project a success. A minor mistake might cost them a heavy loss.

So, without thinking twice, he went inside the room with her.

Aparna rejoiced internally at the success of her first part of the plan.

She made him sit on the couch and started making a drink for him.

Vinay objected to it, but she said "Mr. Vinay relax, it is just a drink. Nothing much. Hm...?"

"Ms. Aparna, let's get this done with. I have to get up early tomorrow. Ok?" Vinay told her strictly.

Aparna didn't insist further as she wanted him to stay longer for her plan to work.

Sonia was searching for Aparna's room in the hotel corridor.

She found Rocky talking on the phone in front of his room. She immediately went near him and asked him Aparna's room number.

She went towards the room number told by Rocky. She knocked on the door but didn't get any response.

She tried again but still...

She then rang the bell but still nobody opened the door.

Then she heard something that bought tears in her doe eyes.

"Stop it, Mr. Vinay it hurts! You are too strong!"

"Aparna!"

Sonia closed her mouth to not let any sound out. She crumpled and ran out of there shaking her head thinking the obvious.

She opened their suite door and collapsed on the bed crying.

She thought 'I have been such a fool! Why would he like a stupid girl like me! The one who doesn't know the difference between a lie and truth! A helpless little being!'

'Of course, Aparna has everything that a man wants. Looks, style, attitude! Who am I compared to her!'

Thinking about the horrible things that her husband would be doing to her nemesis she cried herself to sleep.

Vinay came inside the suite frustrated and angry. He never thought that Aparna would stoop down so low. He had immense respect for her when she joined their company. But what she tried to do tonight with him disgusted him.

He grabbed his night wear and went to the washroom to cool himself down.

The next morning

Sonia felt a heavy weight holding her. She opened her eyes to find Vinay holding her in his embrace. She smiled at his innocent face but frowned remembering the previous night.

She immediately released herself from his grip, jolting him awake.

She went to the washroom angrily confusing Vinay.

After finishing her morning routine, she came out to see Vinay waiting for her.

"I will be going to the meeting in the morning. We can go to the Annual Fest in the evening. So, you can refresh yourself with some shopping or just relax. Ok?" Saying so he moved towards her to caress her cheeks.

Sonia backed off with an angry stare.

"You don't have to worry about me. Mr. Vinay! As you can see, I can take care of myself. So why don't you take care of your business. Coz, I may not fit into it!"

She went towards the exit to leave the suite but turned around to say her last words.

"And one more thing. I will be going to the Annual fest as the guest of Mr. Robertson and not your date. You can arrange for the same with your Aparna. Hm...?" she shaked her eyes with silent tears. Before any tears would fall from her eyes, she left the suite with a bang.

Vinay was clueless at her attitude. As he was not able to put two and two together.

He changed to his formals to attend the meeting.

After the previous night incident, he had fired Aparna on the spot to not encourage any more advances from her.

So, he alone had to take care of all the proceedings of the legality with the government authorities.

After the meeting was over, he asked Rocky to call Sonia to the hotel restaurant to have their lunch together. Sonia deliberately missed the breakfast with him with some random excuse. So, he wanted to have the lunch with her.

"Yes, Mam." Rocky kept the call and spoke

"Boss, Mam doesn't want to have lunch with us."

Vinay was still confused with her behaviour. He asked Rocky about her current location to which he said "She is near the beach café adjacent to the hotel."

Vinay smiled at him and told him to take them to the café.

Sonia was relaxing at the beach, walking on the sand bare feet.

Vinay reached the beach café to find his beautiful wife sulking at the beach clutching her footwear in one of her hands swaying it mindlessly.

Vinay was liking her new dressing as she was not regretting her choices. She wore short denims with a poncho crotchet covering her upper body. She had tied her hair in a high bun with a bow. She put one of her hands in her shorts pocket and was walking in a grumpy manner.

He gave his coat to Rocky and went near her calling her. Sonia ignored him and walked further from him.

Vinay tried again but was not getting response from her.

He now got angered at her little antics. He rushed to her and picked her on his shoulders earning a scream from her.

She started beating him on his back earning a chuckle from him.

He then gently put her on one of the beach chairs.

She glared at him and said "Why did you do that? Am I not allowed to have some peace and quiet for once!"

Vinay smiled looking at her eyes which were saddened. He wanted to know the reason behind her anger.

He didn't drift away from her and squatted in front of her. He held her knees caressing it and asked her.

"Why is my wifey angry at me...huh? What did I do?!"

Sonia looked with more tears in her eyes. He couldn't stand her tears. He closed in and tried to kiss her eyes. She moved her head sideways and her lips quivered.

He looked at Rocky and signaled him to give them some privacy. Rocky adhered to his boss's orders.

After Rocky left, Vinay tilted her head with his index fingers and thumb towards his face.

He rubbed his nose with hers and said "I am sorry for hurting you if I did."

"Don't do this to me! I know I am not as good as her! You deserve her!" Sonia sobbed in broken words.

Vinay scrunched his eyebrows asking "Who?"

Sonia moved backed from him and tried to get up. Vinay didn't allow her and tried again.

"Who, Sonia?"

Sonia sealed her lips and cried bitterly.

Vinay hugged her to calm her. She cried more and spoke "Ap-apar-na"

Vinay chuckled at her answer and backed a little to wipe her tears.

"And why would you think like that?"

Sonia was feeling somewhat hesitated to tell him about the previous night events that she heard.

Vinay enquired again.

"You were in her room last night." Saying the words, she looked down to avoid his stare.

Vinay bit his lips and looked at his jealous wife.

He kissed her cheeks and spoke "I went to give her a file and nothing more."

Sonia looked at him and didn't believe him.

"I heard some noises and ....um..." Sonia wanted to tell him but was finding it difficult.

Vinay then remembered the actuality of the scene that happened in the room.

He then thought to tell her the events clearly.

"We didn't do anything. She tried to advance on me and I dodge it. To which she tried to seduce me and I rejected. She got furious and made it look like I tried to harass her. Which I did not. In the process, I grabbed her hand tightly to move her away from me. I think that is what you heard her saying and you interpreted it wrong."

Sonia was somewhat satisfied with his answer. He kissed her forehead saying

"Believe me, Ma Reine! Coz I would never do that to you. I am a one-woman man. I have never cheated you and won't in future." He further clarified that made her blush. He caressed her cheeks and rubbed his thumbs over her lips.

Their stare was telling them to move to the next step. They looked at one other's lips. Vinay bit his lips breathing heavily. He moved closer to do the deed but was royally interrupted by Rocky.

"Boss! Grandfather Menon called. He wants to speak to you."

Vinay looked down cursing his trustee and looked at him clenching his jaw. Rocky got confused at his boss's glare.

Vinay shaked his head and smiled at Sonia. Sonia blushed at him and hugged herself.

Vinay rubbed her arms and signaled her to move to the car. She nodded and both went back to their hotel.

In the evening

Vinay was speaking with Appupa and telling him about the recent updates that he had found.

"Don't worry, child. I will handle it over here. You just keep my grandchild happy. I will make sure not to let anyone disturb you. Ok?" Appupa assured him calming Vinay.

He kept the phone and looked outside the suite window and thought 'I will not anyone take you away from me. You are my queen. My life. I will not let anyone harm you. I will protect you even it means sacrificing my life.'

"Mr. Vinay?" Sonia called.

Vinay turned to his queen in the most eye-catching attire.

He went near her and hugged taking her by surprise.

She didn't understand him. She backed from his hug and asked him.

He looked at her with utmost care and kissed her forehead.

"Don't ever leave me!" Sonia searched his eyes for the meaning of the words that came from his mouth.

Sonia caressed his cheeks and nodded. He kissed her cheeks and then rubbed his nose on hers.

He lightly brushed his lips on hers making her shudder. His calm breath were doing wonders to her body. She looked at him with an unknown fear and anxiety.

Vinay felt that she was feeling alien to his new caress and backed a little to give her space.

He gulped down to control his desire.

They departed to free their mind by enjoying in the festival.
