At Night

At the dinner table

Vinay explained to his family that Sonia was not feeling well and needed rest to relax.

The family member agreed to tend to her while Vinay would be away for work.

"Don't worry, Vinay. We will take care of her. We all love her equally. Hm...?" Mrs. Nair assured her son who was finding it difficult to have his dinner.

Reena went near him and patted his shoulders saying "Vinay. She will be alright. I will see to it that your Sonia is healthy and smiling again. Ok. Now eat your dinner or your Chech will be very angry with his brother. Hm...?"

Vinay looked at her and smiled weakly. He ate only half of his food and went back to his room.

In Vinay's room

Mrs. Nair had taken Sonia's food in Vinay's room. As Sonia was feeling weak to come to the dining table.

"Eat my child. You are looking so weak. You have to take your medicines too." Mrs. Nair was trying to feed the gloomy Sonia. Sonia was looking at nowhere zoning out.

Just then Vinay entered his room after discussing some office work with his new secretary. He was also responsible for the Maldives project, which was going to start full fledge from the coming weeks. He was totally engaged with the new project, so couldn't take leave from office.

He was worried about Sonia too. He wanted to stay with her 24/7 to comfort her, cheer her up. But was also responsible for making his father's dream come true.

He saw his mother's struggle to feed Sonia. So, he approached them and looked at his mother, who shaked her head in disappointment.

"Mom, you take rest. I will feed her. Hm..." Saying so he took the food bowl from her hand.

Mrs. Nair nodded her head and caressed his head. She looked at Sonia and felt sad at her condition.

She thought that maybe Sonia missed her family badly and since feeling lonely.

She left the couple and went outside the room.

Vinay looked at Sonia and called her

"Sonia?"

Sonia slowly looked at him and teared up.

"Shh...don't cry. I am here for you. Please, eat your food." He wiped the tear with his index fingers caressing her cheeks.

Vinay brought the spoon near her mouth. Sonia looked away shaking her head as a no.

"Do you want me to cry too. Hm...?" Vinay asked her who was looking away unbothered.

He then pulled her chin gently with his index finger and thumb, looking straight in her eyes.

"You know Veena was asking for her favourite aunty today at the dinner table. She said that she wanted to play with her only. But Chech said to her that her aunt is not well. So, till the time she is not well, she may not be able to play with her. Hearing this, my Veena started crying loudly. And said that she wants her aunt right now! She was not listening to anyone!"

Sonia looked at him blankly with wet tears covering her already dried ones. Vinay continued with a heavy heart.

"She even said that she won't eat her formula from anybody's hand, but only if her aunt feeds her. Not anyone else. Not even Chech!"

"So, it is your responsibility to get strong and healthy. So that you can play and feed your Veena, right? Then have your food, hm...?"

Sonia melted hearing baby Veena's name. Vinay bought the spoon filled with soup to her lips and she ate it with tearful eyes looking straight at him.

He then fed her food to her content and wiped her mouth with the napkin.

He made her lay comfortably on the bed and pulled the duvet to cover her body. He kissed her forehead.

He smiled at her and prepared to sleep in the single bed.

At the middle of the night, Sonia struggled in her bed having a nightmare.

Suddenly she got up with a jerk screaming "No!!!"

Vinay jolted at her noise and ran towards her.

"Sonia! What!! What is it?!!"

Sonia looked at him scared. She immediately hugged him tightly. He got worried at her state as it was the second time that he had seen her vulnerable.

He caressed her asking her again and again the reason for her fear.

She just held him tightly. Then he cupped her face and asked "Do you need some water?"

Sonia nodded to which Vinay poured some water from the water jug on the bedside table.

He gave them to her who drank it trying to quench her thirst.

He then felt her calming down.

Sonia felt more relaxed after having water.

Vinay then made her sleep comfortably on the bed and tried to leave towards his bed.

She immediately clutched his hand and shaked her head as a no.

"I am right here, Sonia. Don't worry. I will not leave the room. Hm...?" Vinay said to her in a calm tone caressing her hair. She shaked her head as a no again and again with tears in her eyes.

Vinay was in a fix and didn't know what to do.

He then sat on the bed resting his upper body on the headboard and made Sonia sleep on his chest. She immediately grabbed his waist and tried to cuddle to him.

Vinay was feeling too odd at her responsive nature. But he wanted her to relax as it was his foremost priority.

He just patted her shoulder and tried to make her sleep.

After some time, he heard her light snores and got relaxed that she had slept off. He tried to move her and go towards his bed. But she had a firm grip on him who refused to let him go.

He complied to her efforts and just tried to sleep while resting his upper body on the headboard.

In the morning

Sonia slowly opened her eyes with the sunlight hitting her softly. She was feeling tried with a heavy burden in her chest.

She tried to move but was gripped strongly with muscular arms. She looked at the arms and then at its owner.

She saw him holding her in his iron grip but not hurting her. She looked at his calm face and smiled slightly at the man who had done everything in his power to let her know the truth.

He complied to her every need without questions asked.

She was feeling guilty for taking advantage of such a humble soul.

She slowly bought her hands towards his face to caress. But then he moved slightly and opened his eyes to see the most beautiful sight in front of him.

He looked at her as if seeing a dream. As he had imagined to wake up every morning with her in his arms blushing. They sharing all that a husband and a wife would share.

He wanted her to feel the love that he had started to develop from the first time that he saw her.

His love has only grown with time.

He wanted her to love him the way he loved her.

Both of them were not leaving each other. They decided to stay in each other's arms as long as they could.

Sonia then looked sideways and struggled a little to move from his grip.

Vinay realised her struggle and opened his iron grip to let her free.

Sonia slowly got up and looked back at him who was looking at her with concern.

She went to the washroom to do her morning routine.

After some time, Sonia came out of the washroom changed into fresh clothes.

She didn't want the family to suspect and feel sorrow for her.

She didn't want to burden others more, so she thought to forget her sorrow by accepting their love and care for her.

On the dining table

All the family members were having their breakfast chatting all along. Sonia came towards them and started helping to serve the breakfast.

Mrs. Nair grabbed her shoulders and looked at her with a smile. She caressed her hairs and asked

"How are you feeling today, child?"

Sonia nodded her head assuring that she was ok.

Mrs. Nair held her hand and made her sit on the chair and told the maid to serve her breakfast.

Just then Vinay approached them, he saw his family pampering his Sonia and felt happy.

He went to sit beside her and caressed her hand asking her

"Are you ok?" Sonia smiled at his concern.

After finishing their breakfast, one by one all the members dispersed to continue their daily chores.

Mr. Nair patted Sonia's head and smiled at her.

Vinod smiled at her and told her to take care of her health and not to overstress.

Reena took Veena to her room as it was her nap time.

Vinay grabbed his phone and began to leave for office when he saw Sonia also approaching the front door.

"Where are you going?" he asked her in concern.

"To office." She replied still little sulky.

"No, Sonia. You are not going to office. Take rest. You don't need to go anywhere. Just rest at home. Hm...?" Vinay tried to tell her to stay back.

"Mr. Vinay, if I stay here. I will only remember unwanted things. It is better if I engage myself in work. That way, I might also be relaxed mentally." Sonia tried to convince him.

After much arguments, Vinay agreed telling her that she will travel only in his car.

Both left for their respective work place.

In the afternoon

In an abandoned factory warehouse, in the outskirts of the city. A badly injured man was tied in the chair. He was dragged in the scorching sunlight in the open ground.

Rocky tilted his head up and punched him hard across his face, making him split fresh blood from his already wounded lips.

The chair fell to the side with the impact taking its owner along with it. The man coughed blood continuously crying in pain.

Vinay strode to the man on the ground. He squatted in front of the half unconscious man and grabbed his head to look at his half bleeding face. Vinay spoke in a calm tone.

"This is not enough for the amount of pain that you have given me. You are still to suffer my wrath. Every pain suffered by my beloved, will be given to you 1000 times more. So, get ready to endure hell!"

Vinay grabbed the man's hand and caressed it. Then he entangled his fingers in the man's, grabbing his wrist from his other hand. The man gaped at Vinay understanding his next move. He vigorously shaked his head pleading him to not do the horrifying act that he was about to do.

Vinay just sneered at him, tilting his head to the side smilingly. He gritted his teeth and suddenly tilted the man's hand backward earning an ear blocking scream from him.

The man could not endure the pain longer and fainted. Vinay let go of his broken wristed and told Rocky to torture him more till the next order.

"Rocky, make sure that he doesn't get any medical assistance. He should be crippled by the time you guys are finished with him! I don't want him to move any of his muscles for the rest of his life! Got that!" Vinay ordered his trustee earning a nod from him.

Vinay continued "And inform Appupa about him. He should know that we are almost done with his work. Arrange the meeting with those maniac dealers next week when Appupa is free. Call me when it is fixed, ok?"

Rocky then departed his boss to his office safely.
