"Nia, would you like to have the stir-fried baby corns? It looks delicious!" Rekha asked her bestie while going through the dishes spread across the buffet table.

They were royally interrupted by a handsome personality who supposedly was attracted to one special talkative charisma.

"Hello ladies, mind if I join you?" Rekha looked over her shoulders and slightly gawked at his appearance.

He went near Rekha and spoke softly "Close your mouth, you don't want the mosquitoes to house them"

Rekha immediately adhered to him but glared at him. He just backed off and smiled introducing himself.

"Hello, I am Shiva. Nice to meet you. May I know the names of you beautiful ladies?"

Rekha looked at him up and down and scowled turning around to resume her work on selecting the dishes.

Sonia felt sad at her bestie's behaviour as she thought that the man just wanted to introduce himself. He didn't sound bad either. So, she introduced herself and was about to introduce Rekha when she suddenly turned and glared at her bestie saying

"Nia, why are you talking to strangers? Come let's go!"

Shiva just looked at her in amusement and smiled.

"Cute."

The family members settled in the living room after the dinner.

Mr. Nair went to the centre stage with Mr. Mukundan and he started making an announcement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention here please?"

Everyone looked at him, taking their affirmation he continued

"Today is a very special day for me, as my son Vinay has finally returned from the states after his training. He is going to join our family business to help it reach the global market at the highest level!"

Vinay looked down smilingly at his father endless praise for him.

He knew that finally he was able to put a proud smile on his father's face.

He knew that now he would be able to show his family how much they mean to him and his life.

Mr. Nair then continued.

"So, as a gift for him I am going to announce him as the CEO of our company, Vasudevan Nair and Sons Timber Ltd."

Everyone applauded at his words and looked at Vinay who was totally astonished at his father's words.

But before he could digest this surprise, his father threw another surprise at him.

"Vinay would you please come here, my child." He signalled Vinay to join him at the centre alongwith his mother.

Mr. Nair smilingly grabbed his son's shoulder from the sides and spoke.

"Today I am going to give another joy to my son in the form of his life partner."

All the Nair family members were puzzled at his words. But were shocked at his next announcement.

"By getting my son Vinay engaged to my dear friend Mukundan's daughter, Sunita!"

Vinay looked at his father in shock and noticed that he was beaming with great happiness and tears in his eyes.

He couldn't imagine that he would ever see this day. So, he just gathered his feelings and looked down closing his eyes for a second and looked straight up.

His father lightly grabbed Sunita's hand and placed it onto Vinay's hand as a sign of holy union.

Sunita was shying away looking down. Vinay looked at her face and thought that maybe destiny wanted her to be his wife. Accepting his fate, he smiled at her and lightly clutched her hand. Sunita looked at him and smiled happily.

Rekha was not able to digest the whole scenario, she looked down with disappointment. She then looked at Sonia who was looking at the centre stage with emotionless eyes.

Rekha thought why is fate playing a cruel joke on these pure souls?

What cruelty have her best friends done, to deserve such a terrible life?

In all this, nobody could observe the red bl**d eyes of Grandfather Menon. He was clutching his walking stick and twisting it while gritting his teeth.

He never thought that somebody would defy his direct request.

He closed his eyes and tilted his head up.

He opened them and scowled at the sight.

He slowly got up from his seat clutching his walking stick and strode towards the centre stage.

Mr. & Mrs. Nair looked at him in bewilderment as they were scared at what he might do.

They gulped and looked at him in worry.

He smiled at them and looked at Vinay patting his head lovingly.

"Bless you, my child. May god shower you with all the happiness in this world. You deserve a true gem in your life, my boy!" saying so he only concentrated his blessings on Vinay ignoring Sunitha.

Mr. & Mrs. Nair looked at each other in fear and looked at Grandpa Menon to receive his sharp words, but to their astonishment, he spoke softly, looking at them in anger.

"You have a great son; he will be very happy and content in future. He has my blessings. You need not worry. I will look after him."

Vinay was confused at his words and looked at his parents who widened their eyes in fear. He was not understanding the wordplay that Grandpa Menon had strike on them.

Soon everyone in the party approached the new couple to congratulate them.

Shiva approached Vinay with a friendly hug and spoke

"V! I am so happy for you, buddy! Finally, my friend is going to join the marriage wagon, bro!"

Vinay smiled at his friend's remark.

Rekha came to Vinay to congratulate him.

Vinay smiled at her and side hugged her as usual.

"Mr. Yashuu, this is not fair! You betrayed me! I thought we were finally bonding. Just when I was going to confess, you went ahead and did this! Traitor!" she pouted her lips in a cute manner.

"Rekha!" Vinay warned her in a friendly manner to which she chuckled.

"Ok, ok, I am sorry! Congratulations, Mr. Yashuu. Have a great future ahead. To you too, Ms. Sunita. Please keep my friend happy. He deserves it." She looked lovingly at both of them.

Vinay smiled at her and spoke

"Thanks, Rekha. I am happy to have you as my friend."

Rekha smiled at him and was again royally interrupted by her new admirer.

"So, your name is Rekha. Hm... can I call you, Reh?" Shiva asked her.

Rekha's eyes widened at his bluntness. She looked at Shiva's smilingly face and got irritated. She just groaned in anger and moved away from there.

Shiva shrugged his shoulder smirking and looked at his friend who just shaked his head understanding his friend's flirty nature.

Sonia was calling Ronny to know when he would be back so that they could approach their parents for the marriage proposal.

Reena approached her and patted her shoulder. Sonia turned to see the saddened face of Reena and asked her

"Yes, Chech."

"Sonia, how are you feeling? Are you ok?" Reena asked in concern.

Sonia nodded her head confirming that everything was well and good with her.

After talking for some time, Reena went away from there advising Sonia to take care of her health.

At Menon's residence

Sonia's room

Sonia was looking outside her room window and recalling all the events that had happened in her life in the last few months. She was thinking that if she had talked about Ronny with her family, it would not have been so complicated.

She was feeling more depressed with the current scenario.

Being the person she is, she was not liking her present appearance which was not under control.

She was feeling drowned by burden that she was not aware of.

She was feeling tired and exhausted.

She thought a good night's sleep might take away some of her tiredness.

In the living room

Grandpa Menon was recalling the scene that happened in the Nair residence and calculating how he could have been fooled by his own people.

But he thought maybe there is more than what meets the eye.

So, he called his right hand to search for the information.

He twirled the glass of the bitter liquid in his hand, thinking.

Ammava, please don't send him so far. He needs us, his family, with him at this crucial time.

No, Nandini try to understand why I am doing this. It is for his own good. We need to send him far away till the situation cools down!

Yes, Nandini, Ammava is right. He needs to be away from us, to be safe and sound. He needs to be hidden.

Ammava, please!! He is my son!

Nandini!

No! he will not go!

So, you want your son dead!

NO!!

Then, let him go! He will be safe under my protection!

Nandini, I trust Ammava. He will keep him safe. He will also learn to be self-made under him.

That's what I am afraid of!

Humph! You have pampered him a lot! It's time he learns what hardship means!

He smirked and thought it's time to take some serious actions.

As no one can take care of his precious grandchild than Vinay.

He got a call from his right hand.

He angered at the disclosures given by his right hand and told him to arrange a meeting with Vinay.

He had his doubts the minute he had confronted Rekha the other day.
