At the airport

"Mom, when are uncle and aunty coming? We are already running late?" Sameer said looking at the check in.

Just then the Nairs arrived minus Vinay.

"Nandini, where is Vinay? Is he not coming?" Mrs. Menon glanced at the check in and then at Mrs. Nair.

"Oh...no, not now. He will come after 2 days. He has some urgent work to look after." Nandini confirmed.

Rekha gave a disappointing look, wherein Sonia just rolled her eyes at her bestie's antics.

She grabbed her arm and walked towards the security clearance.

In the evening

In Menon's village home.

(Menon's house in Kerala)

The family finally arrived at the mansion to be greeted by the elders of the family. Grandfather Menon came forward with his walking stick along with other house member and blessed the younger member of the family who arrived.

"Appupa! (Grandpa)" Sonia chimed and immediately hugged her grandfather who smiled at his little granddaughter's cuteness.

She was followed by Rekha who equally greeted grandpa to acquire blessings from him.

All of them retired to their respective assigned rooms.

Sonia and Rekha accompanied the room on the ground floor with attached veranda.

They were chilling on the swing when Rekha spoke. 

"It would have been a lot better if Mr. Yashuu would also accompanied us...hm..." she hummed a sigh remembering her idol – Vinay with dreamy eyes.

"Have you not realised it yet?! He is not interested in you! He hardly gives a glimpse at you every time you meet him!" Sonia said shaking her head.

"What do you know! Have you seen the way he walks, talks and smiles!" Rekha gave a dreamy look.

"Smile!! When did you see him smile? Coz as far as I remember I have never seen that man even happy for that matter! He is a walking iceberg for your information!" Sonia glared at Rekha who was amusing her by the second.

"No...he is not! He is a Greek god! The living version of a mighty Adonis! I wonder how many girls he would have dated in his college days? Maybe around 6-7...? What do you think...Huh?" Rekha asked.

"I am not his PA to know his personal details! Why don't you ask him when he arrives after two days? Bet he would give you all the dirty details! Trust me!!" Sonia gave a wicked look at her bestie, wiggling her eyebrows.

Rekha looked at her suspiciously gaining a loud laugh from her bestie.

The next day

At Nair's office

Vinay's cabin

Vinay strode to his office couch reading the files brought by his assistant. He was going through all the details regarding the new plot in Maldives. He didn't want to miss any pointers.

Just then his phone rang.

"Yes, mom, what happened?" he said whilst working on the file.

"Vinay you are coming tomorrow here, for the wedding, right?" his mom queried.

Huffing he kept the file down and rubbed his forehead thinking of avoiding the wedding. He didn't want to meet the most obvious person.

But the situation was somewhat unavoidable.

He did one mistake of leaving his mom and Chech halfway through during the shopping. He was regretting it all this time.

"Yes, mom. I will arrive tomorrow in the evening. How are everyone? Is Veena, ok? She takes time to adjust to new environment. She was crying a lot day before yesterday because of the cold. Is she ok?" Vinay tried to change the topic.

"Yes, she is fine. Sonia is taking good care of her. She won't leave Sonia even for a minute. It's like she is bond to her. It is really astonishing. The child who would never go to unknown people, is playing and laughing with her!" like so his mom was explaining the current scenario of the village frolicky for some more time.

Vinay bit his bottom lip to control his emotions. He regained himself and bid goodbye to his mom promising to arrive on time.

He thought to himself, why fate was drawing him to the one person whom he wanted to avoid the most.

He was fed up of the whole situation. He promised himself that he would try to avoid her as much as possible, even if it meant to give a cold attitude to her.

The next day

At Cochin airport, Kerala

Vinay was fetched by the Menon family driver to reach the mansion. It was raining profusely since the afternoon. He looked outside the car window thinking to survive the week without minding the one particular person.

The Menon Kerala Mansion

Sonia and Rekha were playing in the rain in the garden in the front part of the mansion with the children of the household.

They were dancing and splashing water all over the place in accordance to the music playing from inside the house. The family member sitting at the porch were smiling and enjoying the fun filled atmosphere.

After some time, Rekha went inside along with the children to dry herself and helped the children for the same. The family members too went inside to continue with their individual work.

Sonia lied on the tree trunk nearby with her right hand on top of her head and the left hand tapping on the tree trunk on her side. She was facing the sky and was thinking deeply with her closed eyes. When she heard the thunder and rumbling of the skies. She opened her eyes and looked at the dark sky and smiled.

She then let go of the tree and started dancing.

She stopped her twirling and smiled at herself. She lifted her gaze to meet the most mesmerising dark brown eyes looking at her with intensity. 

Her smile dropped at the look, but he was not moving his gaze from her. She finally moved her eyes downwards and turned back inside the house.

When she returned to her room, she clutched her fast-beating heart. She was amazed at this feeling. First it was at the community rehearsal hall and now here. She couldn't understand the emotional state that she would go with his one gaze. Even Ronny didn't have that effect on her.

She was getting confused but she gathered herself and went to the washroom to change.

In the evening

At the dining hall

Sonia reached at the table alongwith Rekha with her usual talks. When she found Rekha go suddenly silent. She followed the gaze of her bestie, who was ogling at her idol with the same dreamy eyes.

Sonia had enough of her bestie's drama. She thought to teach her a lesson, she deliberately hurried to the table to accompany the seat opposite to Vinay, leaving only the seat beside him empty.

Rekha was shocked at her bestie's betrayal and glared at her. She had no option but to sit beside Vinay. She took small steps and mildly glided in her seat hoping for the evening to go smoothly without her fainting.

Sonia was controlling her laughter gaining a confused look from Vinay who looked at his side to see Rekha seated beside him.

Rekha tried to maintain her composure to not lose control. Vinay was least bothered about it and returned back to the conversation with the elders.

"So, we can visit our ancestral temple tomorrow evening with the Pillai's where the new couple can take their blessings. What say, everyone?" Grandfather Menon put forward his viewpoint.

All of them nodded happily at his decision.

The next day the Pillai family would arrive at the Menon's village for the ancestral temple visit. Two days from then the wedding would take place at the Pillai Mansion.

The Menon family and guest would be housed in the Menon mansion.

The Menon mansion had many rooms to accommodate a whole village. So, it was not a problem for them to provide rooms for the family member and their friends too.

They were born rich with huge span of wealth over the entire village. They had acres of land at their disposal. The village sarpanch (head) was the close associate of the Menon head, asking for his advice from time to time.

The only person who would dare to bend the rules for the family was Grandfather Menon. He was a caring person but a shrewd personality for those who would dare to cross the line of his family values and tradition.

Mr. Sandip Menon respected and adored his father's decision. One word from his father was enough to silence him.

So, when the fate would play a cruel act on his children, grandfather Menon would wage a war against the Gods to win their happiness.
