Music blared out of the hanging speakers, disco lights shining around the arena as everybody at the audience booth was jumping to the beat and having the time of their lives.

The camera pans around every audience from multiple sides of the audience booth before panning towards the DJ booth where the DJ is turning up the music. He then slowed the beat down before scratching his CDs and stopping his song

DJ: "Everybody make some noise!"

The crowd around the stadium all jumped and cheered at the DJ as he pressed a dank horn on his soundboard. 

DJ: "Let's get to know our contestants! In the Green corner, our reigning champion. Our Skate King, Ch34p_Thr1ll$$"

A spotlight then shined on one part of the arena, showing Dan waving to the crowd. 

DJ: "And in the Purple corner. Our new challenger, Zer0"

Another spotlight then shined on the other side of Dan, revealing Kevin with his purple board in his arm. The crowd begins to mutter to themselves. 

Man #1: "Is he really Zer0?"

Girl #1: "No way, THE Zer0?"

Man #2: "Holy crap, no way!"

Kevin: *thought* "Seems my reputation perceives me. But not so much on my looks"

Dan: "Can we get this show started already? I wanna smoke this noob"

DJ: "Alright, Alright!"

DJ then scratches his record rapidly, causing the crowd to quiet down. 

DJ: "Y'all know the game mode, The Skater with the most FIRE Tricks wins the game. Y'all Ready!?"

The crowd erupts in cheer once more. 

DJ: "Then let's let the stage! Up first..."

The platforms Kevin and Dan were standing on began to ascend as the ground beneath them parted to reveal their first course, a Halfpipe. 

The half-pipe in particular was decorated with Pyrotechnics and spikes with red and black decals. 

DJ: "The Halfpipe from Hell! Skaters! Time to Shred!"

Dan was up first, riding his green skateboard off the platform, he falls to the halfpipe before using all of his momenta down the first quarter of the halfpipe before riding up the second. 

DJ: "And off he goes! Ch34p_Thr1ll$$ starting us off!"

With his built-up speed, Dan rockets upwards and performed a kickflip into a backflip before falling back down. 

DJ: "Woo! Looking strong on that one"

Riding the other quarter of the halfpipe, Dan rode up and performed a pop-shuvit before grabbing his board to perform a flip before riding the halfpipe one more time. 

DJ: "Amazing! Look at that combo"

For the last trick. Dan rode up the halfpipe with all the momentum he could garner and shot upwards, once he reached the apex of his jump, Dan ran up his skateboard and jumped up to reach Kevin and stares into his eyes with a smug grin.

 DJ: "Oumph! The staredown" 

Dan then begins to fall backward, curling into a ball before cannonballing back down. Right as he was about to fall to the halfpipe, he manages to ride onto his skateboard before following through the halfpipe and stopping to the side. 

Yellow numbers began to count up above the arena, climbing up fast to the thousands before stopping at...

DJ: "Incredible! 465 thousand points, how would our newcomer top THAT performance"

Kevin: "There's no way I could do that, even without this controller nonsense"

Kevin then pulls up the tab with his controls, showing the complex inputs he has to enter even to do the simplest of actions.

Kevin: "Come on...there's gotta be something I could do, maybe change the controls. Even a Settings would do at this point"

Instead of showing Kevin a tab of complex inputs like the one before, this tab showed Kevin the configuration for his controller. 

Kevin: "Real life mode...Configuration is designed to mimic the actions similar to that of the real world. Having this configuration gives the user a 1.0x multiplier by default"

Looking for different options, Kevin presses the right arrow.

Kevin: "Hardcore mode...Configuration is designed for the most insane of the insane. Increase the difficulty of the input required to do a certain task. Having this configuration on gives the user a 2.0x multiplier by default. Yeah, no"

Despite the increase in multiplier, Kevin opts out and presses the left arrow, scrolling past Real life mode, and hoping for a slightly easier configuration.

Kevin: "Kid mode...Configuration is designed with infants and toddlers in mind. Drastically decrease the difficulty needed to do a certain task to the point that a baby could do it. Having this configuration on gives the user a 0.25x multiplier by default and will have a bib, pacifier, and a baby bonnet to prevent skaters from injuring a child"

Kevin reserved that option as an ultimatum and tries to find more options to choose from but instead cycles back to the same three. 

Kevin: *sigh* "I guess there's no other choice"

Kevin scrolls through the Controller Configuration until he stops at Kid mode and saved the configuration. 

Kid mode Activated!

Large neon letters pop up above Kevin's head as confetti poppers were popped behind him. The confetti then magically turns into a bib and baby bonnet and wrapped around Kevin's neck and head before a pacifier suddenly appears in his mouth. This garners a chuckle from the crowd instantly, laughing at Kevin's getup, including Dan.

Slightly above the DJ booth, the gothic woman is seen sitting on a throne and overseeing the challenge with an unamused look. 

Kevin: *thought* 'Guess there's no turning back from here'

Biting down on the pacifier in his mouth, Kevin begins to fall from his platform with his skateboard and rode up the halfpipe. 

DJ: "And here we go!"

Kevin: *thought* 'Let's see if this trick will work'

While picturing himself with the controller, Kevin does a quick button combination to start him off. In an instant, Kevin could feel his body move on its own without trouble, effortlessly performing a 360 kickflip into a pop-shuv it before falling back to the halfpipe. 

Kevin: *thought* 'Holy crap that worked!'

DJ: "WOAH! This baby got moves!"

Shooting up the second quarter of the halfpipe, Kevin begins to input his button combination with ease. This led to him doing crazy stuff like breakdance on his board while ascending, spinning his skateboard around his neck before holding it above his head, and performing a backspin. 

Kevin then got back on his skateboard and landed back on the halfpipe. The crowd was left in awe and was now beginning to shout in excitement. 

DJ: "HOLY-! I don't even know what you call those moves"

At this point, Dan begins to bite his thumb in irritation as Kevin rode up the Halfpipe for the final time. 

Kevin pulled all the stops, inputting every button combination his muscle memory could remember, eliciting the crowd to scream in excitement as they went crazy with his moves to the point that the wheels on his skateboard caught on fire. 

Once Kevin was starting to fall, he got back on his skateboard and rode down the halfpipe, leaving a flame trail behind before stopping in front of Dan. 

Kevin: *removes pacifier* "Goo-Goo-Gah-Gah, loser"

The same Yellow numbers appeared above the arena once more, instantly breaking through the thousands before stopping at a final score of...

DJ: "500 thousand points! That is insane from our newcomer ladies and gentlemen"

The crowd erupts in cheer as Kevin and Dan continue to stare each other down. 

The gothic woman raised her eyebrow and leans her head to the side. 

Gothic Woman: "Looks like he's back to his old self again"

DJ: "Buckle up, Folks. Cause we are in for a whirl!"

The stage then starts to dissipate, turning to pixels, only leaving Kevin and Dan alone in the void. 

Soon another stage begins to conjure around them. Dan and Kevin broke off their stare down and looked in front of them, they saw that they were now outside as they stood on a platform with a steep ramp. 

Following the trajectory of the ramp, the skaters saw a large pool of water across a large open window at the end of the jump. 

Soar through the skies, performing tricks, before landing back on the main stage. 

(Bonus points for jumping over the Megalodon)

With their objective appearing amidst the blue skies, it was time for action. Dan was first to take off, hopping on his skateboard and riding down the ramp before soaring to the skies. 

As he was in mid-air, Dan performs a sequence of tricks before ending in a judo kick pose right as a shark jumps out of the water and misses his mark by a large margin. With the Megalodon now cleared, Dan performed a kickflip before flying through the open window and landing on the stage with little effort.

The crowd cheers as the number above the arena begin to tally his score.

DJ: "What a respectable performance from our defending champion! Now, let's see what our newcomer has in store"

Kevin: "Here goes nothing"

Dropping down the ramp, Kevin garners as much speed as he can before launching off the ramp. However, right as he was about to jump off the ramp, he accidentally knicks his board on the tip of the ramp, dramatically decreasing the height of his jump.

Kevin: *thought* "Crap..."

Salvaging his attempt, Kevin begins to perform an abundance of tricks in hopes of making up for his lack of air time and his default multiplier. 

DJ: "Here comes big ol' Meg"

Once Kevin cleared the distance halfway, The Megalodon then jumps out of the water and was about to devour Kevin whole. Seeing this, Kevin input a sequence of button controls, leading him to jump off his board, gaining as much initial height as he could get before grabbing his board. 

He then follows through with a miracle whip to clear the Megalodon, with an inch of space apart. 

The display causes the crowd to leave their seats from watching such a thrilling display. With the Megalodon finally cleared, Kevin bails before assuming a spread eagle position and gliding through the open window.

With his board still in hand, Kevin rode back on before landing on the stage, the crowd cheering in excitement as he does a victory lap around the stage.

Dan begins to grit his teeth in anger, watching as Kevin continues his victory lap while gesturing for the crowd to cheer louder. 

DJ: "Things aren't looking too hot for Ch34p_Thr1ll$$. Let's see if our newcomer could keep up his streak with our FINAL Challenge"

The arena then pixelated once again, leaving the two skaters in a dark void as the stage begins to generate one pixel at a time. 

Kevin: "Can I ask you something?"

Dan: *bitter* "What?"

Kevin: "That woman...do you know her name?"

Dan scoffs as he looks to the side. 

Dan: "No..."

Kevin: "And the 'Gentleman Killer' what's that? Some sort of nickname?"

Dan: "It's a title, you idiot! Don't label it as something childish"

Kevin: "So you go around chasing after this 'Gentleman Killer' and you don't even know her name? How did she get the title in the first place?"

Dan: "You really are not from here are you?"

Kevin: "No...Just moved back a couple of days ago"

 Dan: *sigh* "Fine..."

(Flashback)

I didn't remember how the rumor started, I just know it's been going on for a while, but I wasn't really one to listen to rumors. 

I was skating at a skate park with my friends, minding our own business. While they were busy shredding in the park, I was shredding on my phone, doing nonstop tricks with my digital fingerboard, when at the corner of my eye I saw the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on.

Skater #1: "Hey, Dan. You alright?"

Dan: "Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine"

I then pocketed my phone and got on my skateboard before I went after the woman. 

Skater #2: "Hey, where are you going?"

Dan: "Gotta go somewhere real quick, be right back!"

But right as I reached the spot where I last saw her, dozens of people were crowding the area. 

I manage to spot her amongst the crowd turning a corner, so I pushed past the crowd as much as I can. 

Dan: "Excuse me! I need to go somewhere!"

Once I manage to reach the corner I saw it was a large staircase leading to the subway and she was already at the bottom. In hopes of catching up to her, I grabbed onto my board and grind on the railing, skipping past the stairs entirely. 

When I got close to the end of the railing, I bailed out of my skateboard and immediately ran toward the woman. 

Dan: "Hey, wait a second!"

Woman: "Do I know you?"

It was when I finally caught up with her that I got a close look at her. Her Long wavy black hair, her cold eyes burrowing to my soul, her piercings from her ear to her lips along with her tattoos add a sense of danger and boldness to an otherwise angelic woman. I fell in love...

Dan: "Umm...Are you a skateboard? Cause I want to grind you all day long"

Out of nervousness, I might've blurted out the corniest pick-up line I've ever mutter out.

Dan: "I-I mean, My name's Dan...Can I know your name, Miss?"

It felt like she was looking at me up and down for eternity with a blank look. I thought maybe I've offended her or something, but then she finally responded. 

Woman: "Do you play video games?"

Dan: "...huh?"

Woman: *rolls eyes* "Ugh! Whatever..."

Dan: "Wait, wait!"

I quickly ran in front of her to stop her from walking away and quickly fish out my phone and show her the game I've been playing and showed her the leaderboard. 

Dan: "Here...Hand Skater Xtreme. I'm Rank #2 on the leaderboard"

Woman: "Hmm...So you're below me"

I was surprised by this, I looked back at the leaderboard before back at her. 

Dan: "Y-You're-"

Woman: "Tell you what, you beat me in a 1v1 and I'd go out with you. How's that sound?"

Of course, my surprise turned to determination. I wasn't gonna let someone beat me easily, especially in a game I dedicated all my time to. To say I was surprised was an understatement, she began to bust out moves greater than I've ever achieved. 

We battled for hours but in the end...I lost. So there I was kneeling on the ground, defeated. Pride and a chance of asking her out were whisked away...That is until a pouch with a #6 dropped in front of me. 

Woman: "You have skill, I'll give you that. Get better, and maybe 1 day I'll say Yes"

With those parting words, She boarded the train before disappearing. 

(Flashback end)

Dan: "That may not've answered your question. But that's how I got to know her as the 'Gentleman Killer'. So do you get it now?"

Dan looks over at Kevin who is standing with a thinking pose. 

Kevin: "Hmm...A woman that plays video games. Sounds like my kinda woman"

Dan: "HEY ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME!!?"

Kevin: "I wonder if I could convince her to 1v1 me in a Shooter"

Dan: "Don't even bother..."

Kevin looks over with an intrigued look.

Kevin: "Oh? And why's that?"

Dan: "You aren't the first person to challenge her to a shooter"

Kevin: "Someone has already beaten me to it? But I thought?"

Dan: "I was the only one that challenged her? Why do you think we're battling like this? Why do you think I had #6 and you #7?"

Kevin: "Does that mean..."

Dan: "There are 6 more who are after her heart. That includes me too, so if you want to have a chance with her. You're gonna have to find a game you're good at or you beat us in our own game"

DJ: "Coming up next..."

Their stage had finally generated. Looking away from each other, they look at their final challenge and saw they were atop a hill with dozens of obstacles. 

DJ: "For our last challenge, our players would have to clear SKATE MOUNTAIN!!"

Clear the obstacle course. The player with the highest score wins the challenge.

DJ: "Alright, Skaters. Time to SHRED!"

Kevin walks to the side, thinking Dan would go first like the previous challenges.

Dan: "Oh, no, no. I want to see you go first"

Kevin: "Not that'll make any difference..."

Kevin looks back to the incline littered with obstacles, From long halfpipes to winding railings, even some fire hoops, and steep cliffs. 

Dan: "What's wrong? Getting cold feet?"

Kevin: *scoff* "I'll show you cold feet"

Jumping off the platform, Kevin rode on his skateboard and skated down the mountain. As he builds up his speed, he begins reminiscing about a game similar to his scenario and began moving his visual controller upon instinct. 

With a sudden burst of proficiency and finesse, Kevin begins to take on every obstacle with ease. Going through the long halfpipe, Kevin skates along the side, reaching the top as he performs trick after trick as he goes up the sides of the Halfpipe.

Kevin then ollies into a grind, riding atop the winding railings, unknowingly building up his multiplier at a rapid pace along with a special meter that was at the corner of his eye. 

Umph!                                     2.5x 

After clearing the railings, Kevin makes his way to the cliff and jumps the extremely large gap, performing a trick as he does so before landing on the other side without a hassle.

UMph!                                  5.5x 

His wheels begin to catch on fire once more as he comes up on the rings of fire. Jumping the ramp provided. Kevin performs a kickflip into a board and grab 360 spins before landing on the other side of the ramp. 

UMPH!                                    7.5x

By this point, Kevin's skateboard has caught on fire and was now approaching the final obstacle, a final ramp that leads to a platform with a bullseye. 

Land on the bullseye to gain extra points

With the end in sight, Kevin rode the ramp with all the speed his skateboard could muster and soared to the skies, performing trick after trick which led to him filling up his meter.

With his meter charged, Kevin activates his special move by pressing a button on his visual controller. His body then begins to move automatically like before, performing complex tricks, spinning his board around his neck once more before playing it like a guitar, all while flying through the air. 

When he was about to reach the platform, Kevin got back on his skateboard before landing directly on the bullseye.

Halfpipe course - 15000

A checklist appears behind Kevin, checking every course listed that was in Skate Mountain as well as his entire performance. The Yellow number appears once again, climbing from zero at inhuman speeds. 

Breezing by the tens, and hundreds, breaking past the thousand mark and scaling to the Millions.

DJ: "Oh my DAMN! 10 Million points!? Someone call the fire department because this guy is on fire!"

Kevin looks back to the top of the mountain and shoot a smirk at Dan. 

Dan: *thought* 'That little- He thinks he could just come out of nowhere and show me up!? I'll show you what you get when messing with the best skater of SmallTown'

Undeterred by Kevin's performance, Dan hops onto his skateboard and proceeds to skate down the mountain. Dan proceeds to increase his speed as he goes down, going faster than Kevin's initial speed before coming up on the long halfpipe. 

Riding up the first quarter, Dan reached an extraordinary height, higher than Kevin's first jump on the course as he begins to bust out as many moves as he can before landing back on the Halfpipe. 

Kevin: "Uh-Oh..."

Woman: "Hmm...Seemed he decided to throw. What a shame..."

Dan continues through the halfpipe, going up as much as he can and performing tricks before exiting the Halfpipe.

Dan: *thought* 'Faster'

Mustering as much speed as he could, jumping up to perform a trick before grinding on the railing while performing a headstand, rapidly increasing his meter and multiplier.

UMPH!                                      10x

Reaching the end of the railing, Dan jumped as high as he could before using his meter, performing a complex trick that immediately worries Kevin.

Kevin: "Oh no..."

Dan kickflips his skateboard while he twirls in the air, both spinning through the air before Dan lands back just a fraction of a second too late. causing him to stumble forward and reset his multiplier.

Dan: *thought* 'Damnit...Come on, faster!'

Coming up on the Cliffjump Dan kicks forward on his skateboard, gaining speed before jumping the long gap of the cliff. 

At the start, Dan seemed to be doing well, able to clear half of the distance with relative ease. Seeing this, Dan perks up thinking that he'll be safe from then on. But it was only when he saw that he was losing altitude is when his optimistic attitude started to deteriorate. 

From his perspective, the cliff on the other side of the jump looked to drift farther and farther away from him before slowly getting taller and taller.

Dan: "No!!!!"

Kevin watched as Dan starts to plummet down to the unknown, disappearing as his desperate figure tried reaching over to the other side of the cliff. A few seconds later, a large pillar of light appears from the bottom of the trench before letters appeared from the same pillar of light and spell out a word in front of Kevin and the whole crowd watching. 

Wipeout!

DJ: *wince* "Ohh...Hate to see that. Looks like we have a new champion!"

The crowd then erupts in cheer once more, excited for their new skate champion as Kevin stood on the platform bewildered. 

Kevin: "Why is everyone cheering!? He could be dead!"

Kevin looks around the crowd and saw them unbothered by Kevin's statement, it was then he laid eyes on the woman, who stared back at him before standing from her throne and walking away. 

Kevin: "Hey, wait!"

Kevin tries to go after the gothic woman only for light to surround him as he was teleported elsewhere once more.
