Jimmy's Perspective-
I don't think Tango had ever really forgave me for how I lost our second life.
He kept saying it was okay, but he's seemed really distant around me.
I have to make it up to him. I thought one night.
I was running back to our ranch, trying to make it back before something attacked me.
But I accidentally looked at an Enderman, and it started attacking me.
I yelped and ran under a tree.
I took out my shield and sword, starting to swipe at it.
"Come on, come on." I said, almost killing it.
But it came up behind me and killed me.
"NO!" I shouted.
Tears started to form in my eyes.
"No..."
-
I looked around, seeing that I was back near the ranch.
I saw Tango sitting on the roof, and I climbed up and sat beside him.
"You're...still here?" He asked.
"Of course I am. Tango, I'm so, so sor- "
"It's...over." Tango interrupted me.
"I- I'm sorry?"
Tango looked up at me, his eyes burning with tears.
"Go home."
"B-but why would I do that? I love- "
"Go." Tango said, quietly yet forcefully.
I reached for his hand but he moved it away.
I gasped as he started to fade out of my vision.
"Tango...no." I sobbed, hugging the air, "I'm so sorry."
I felt like I was falling.
Falling through pain and sorrow.
I had no one.
I was dead.
And even in in the afterlife, Tango still left me.
I don't blame him, though.
I'm sure if I were him, I would want to leave me too.
Because it was all my fault.
It always is.
Lizzie's Perspective-
"No...NO!" I shouted, running up to the border, sobbing my eyes out.
"No...Jimmy...don't die. You can't die."
I started to bang on the border and Mumbo dragged me away.
"NO! MUMBO STOP!"
"I'm sorry Lizzie, but he's dea-
"HE'S NOT DEAD! He can't be dead. He just can't."
Mumbo took me into my house and up to my room where I cried.
"He can't die, he just can't. He's still alive, he still has one more life, he's going to win." I cried.
"I'm so sorry Lizzie, but he's dead." Mumbo said quietly.
"NO HE'S NOT!"
"Lizzie, he was going to die at some point."
"What is that supposed to mean?! Is- are you saying that he was weak and he was always going to die first?!"
Mumbo shot her a look.
"I never said that, Liz. What I'm saying is that nothing lasts forever."
"But he didn't deserve that."
"I never said he did."
"He- he deserved to win. He- he never did anything wrong. He always put himself in front of others and often suffered if it meant people would be happy. And he never let people know that he was upset."
Mumbo nodded.
"I can't...I can't believe this is happening."
Lizzie took a deep breath and looked out her window towards the arena.
"Do you want to keep watching?" Mumbo asked.
Lizzie shook her head.
"I just want to be left alone."
Mumbo nodded and got up.
He walked towards her door and shut it behind him.
"I'm sorry Lizzie, I really am, but he's dead." He whispered, "And he's never coming back."
Mumbo walked towards the arena and watched as Grian and Scar spoke with Pearl, trying to hide from all of the reds.
"You can do this, Grian, I know you can." Mumbo said, tears trickling down his face, "I don't know what I would do with myself if you died."
