Joel's Perspective-

Joel hummed as he kept mining, trying to find iron.

He then heard two people's voices and blinked.

He looked down and started mining.

He fell into the middle of the two guys conversation, taking a bit of damage.

He saw a flash of red at the corner of his eye but didn't see it as he was looking up at the guy he fell in front of.

He was covered in scars and had a blue fairy beside him.

"Hi! Nice of you to drop in." The guy said, smiling jokingly as he helped Joel up.

Joel rolled his eyes as he took his helping hand, "Thanks."

"I'm Scar! What's your name?"

"Joel."

He turned around and saw a guy with white hair and a black mask.

"Oh, er- Etho." He said.

He then was about to say something when they heard other voices.

They peeked around the corner and saw a group of people in a cave.

A girl with a red coat, a guy with dirty blonde hair and was standing at a crafting table, and a guy with blonde hair and a spyglass.

"Aha! I found more people!" The guy with the spyglass said.

"Ello!" The girl waved.

"Hi!" Scar smiled, jumping down.

Joel was about to follow when Etho tapped his shoulder.

"Yeah?" Joel asked, turning to face him.

"Er- can I...I think we're soulmates." He said.

There was a moment of silence before Joel punched Etho.

"Ow! That actually hurt!" Etho complained, rubbing his arm.

"Oh, we are soulmates!" Joel smiled and Etho rolled his eyes.

"So...what do we do now?" Joel asked after a second.

Etho thought and then shrugged.

"Wanna help me mine?"

"Sure."

Joel started laughing as he saw Jimmy pass by, looking embarrassed.

"How're you doing smellow?" Joel mocked.

"Smelly yellow name, coming through!" Etho shouted.

"Oh my cod shut up." Jimmy growled and his friends laughed.

"How does it feel to be a yellow name?" Joel asked.

Jimmy froze as he looked around.

"WAIT I'M GOING THE WRONG WAY!" He shouted and Etho and Joel fell down laughing.

The sun was setting, and Jimmy was looking around nervously.

"Do you know where the mountains are?" He asked frantically.

"Er- I think over there." Joel said, pointing southeast.

Jimmy groaned, "I'll never get there before nighttime."

"Have fun." Joel said, smiling jokingly as Jimmy ran off.

Joel and Etho then calmed down and stood up.

"Come on, let's try and find a place to live."

As they walked, they saw an Enderman.

"Get 'em in a boat!" Etho called.

"You got it! Boat Boys on the way!" Joel said, putting down at boat and leading the Enderman into it.

He laughed as he took out his axe and swung it down.

"Oh shit." He said before running.

"WHAT'D YOU D- "

Etho's voice was cut off as the Enderman killed Joel, Etho following.

...

"Welp." Joel said as they respawned.

He looked at his wrist.

The green heart was crossed out in a bloody X, and the yellow heart was now bright.

"What happened?" Etho asked, looking dazed.

"I accidentally broke the boat instead of hitting the Enderman." Joel muttered, embarrassed.

Etho chuckled, "Well, come on, let's get our stuff."

Joel smiled softly and held Etho's hand as they ran off.
