Jack stood at the park out of uniform, checking his phone once more. He put a finger through his collar to get some air in, then decided to unbutton the top so it wouldn't look too fancy. He wasn't sure if it was hot today, or if he was just really nervous. Of course he couldn't let his date know that.

"Jack?" Britney called as she approached him. She seemed a little surprised by the looks of it.

Jack bowed at the beauty before him. "Greetings, Britney."

Britney stifled a laugh. "Was that a cross between an alien and a prince?"

Jack half-faked an offended gasp. "Why so mean, my dear?"

"I'm sorry!" Britney laughed out loud. "I honestly didn't expect to find you here," she admitted.

"Why not?"

"Lena told me to come here dressed in casual clothes. She didn't tell me why, though."

Jack smiled and held her shoulder. "She wanted us to spend time together, that's why."

"Oh? How sweet of her."

"Why we in a hospital?" Ted hiccuped and grabbed onto a bench.

"Ted, this is a church." He loosened his grip on Ted a little, thankful for a break. "And I don't know, I just felt drawn to it." Edward looked around in hypnotic wonder. His eyes fell upon a little girl sitting near the front with big brown eyes and long brown hair. She was praying.

"Please be quiet, we are in mass right now."

His eyes followed the voice and noticed a petite young woman with long blonde braids wearing a white dress with a black cardigan, white stockings, black heels, and a shiny silver cross on her necklace standing at the front of the church.

Edward furrowed his brows and whispered to Ted, "What? But there's no one else here!"

"This is getting kind of creepy," Ted confessed.

"Should we leave?"

Suddenly, the little girl and petite reader were standing right behind him.

"Find your sin and repent. Confess and pay for your sin," the little girl read from a book.

An iron door fell over the already closed wooden doors of the church, locking the group inside.

"What the?" Ted gripped the pew and stood up.

From a corridor came three pale white faceless statues, appearing to have been angels with their wings chipped off.

Ted looked at Edward to make sure it wasn't a result of his drunken hallucination, but Edward had the same freaked out face.

"Sorry, but there's no way out." Charlotte crossed her arms.

Edward suddenly collapsed.

"Edward! Wake up!" Ted shook his buddy's shoulder.

"Throw him away," Charlotte ordered.

"Oh shit!" Ted crawled away backwards as a faceless statue lunged and carried Edward away with its marble hands.

***

Edward groaned and stood up, feeling something disgustingly juicy under him and smelling the odor of rotten food penetrate his nostrils. Ugh.. where the hell am I? The stench was too much that he threw up right in the darkness.

Mary and Maya were out for a walk in the park when they heard the sound of vomiting.

"Wait, did you hear that?" Maya covered her mouth.

"Yeah.. it's coming from over there." Mary said slowly as the girls turned in the direction of the noise.

They walked around to the front of a huge dark green dumpster, yet saw nobody.

"Help..." a muffled voice groaned from within.

Maya recognized it instinctively. "Edward! What are you doing in there?"

The girls immediately threw open the lid and a grimy Edward crawled out.

Mary looked him over, trying to mask the disgust on her face.

"How the heck did you get inside the dumpster?" A mortified Maya yelled.

"Some statues threw me in there!"

Mary raised her eyebrows and held a knuckle over her mouth.

"You're not making any sense!" Desperation seeped into Maya's voice.

"Please, you have to help me. They have Ted trapped inside the church."

"What? How?"

Mary put her hand over Maya's shoulder gently and frowned at Edward. "Maya, he's drunk. His breath reeks of alcohol."

Maya's eyes widened, realizing she was right. "Edward, why? I didn't think you were that type of guy."

Edward became shocked when she started sniffling and wiping away tears. Mary held onto her, rubbing her shoulder to sooth her.

"Maya, I'm not drunk!" Edward raised his voice angrily.

Maya shook her head and held up a hand. "Just stop. I don't want to listen to any more of this."

Edward attempted to grab her hand in vain after the two girls ran away. "Maya please! Hear me out!"

***

"Please, let me go!" Ted begged.

"Julia, run along now. Sorry, but you're not getting out." Charlotte's heels echoed through the almost empty church as she stepped away from Ted. "Statues attack!"

She ducked as the statues leaped and flew down towards Ted.

"Ah!!" Ted threw his arms in front of him and pushed the first statue away, sending it towards some pews where it shattered into dusty pieces.

"I did it!" He cheered as he ran to the next oncoming statue.

He threw his hands up again, but this statue came at a stronger force and pushed him backwards into a wall. He saw four of the statues and rubbed his head, groaning as he got back up again. The statue was just about ready to pick him up when he dodged and rolled underneath it, causing it to crash into the wall behind him.

His heartbeat raced and adrenaline pumped through his veins. Logic and a plan was nonexistent, the only concept in his mind was pure survival. The final statue did a crazy flip in the air, aiming to strike Ted with its chipped and sharp wings. He yelled and slid between some pews, ducking underneath a seat as it skidded across the bench next to him. It flew back up before the end of the row, refusing to fall for any tricks like its former companions did.

Ted squeezed his eyes shut and tightened his knuckles, screaming through gritted teeth. He knew staying under the bench would be futile, and it wouldn't be long before the statue sunk its tendrils into him and dragged him out. He opened his eyes, hearing the sharp clink of marble land behind him. He took a look back and saw the statue quickly crawling towards him.

Ted grimaced and crawled faster, his knees and elbows becoming dusty from the age old floor. He was almost at the barrier, the end of the pew, so he got out and leapt from pew to pew, the will to live keeping him from stumbling. He jumped off the last pew, narrowly avoiding the wall behind it.

The statue flew over the pews, a mouth with sharp teeth cracking over its otherwise empty face. The marble emitted a shrill scream as Ted gave out a war cry, clenching a fist behind him as he sprinted towards it. He yelled and flung a punch right through the side of its head, the impact shattering its face into pieces and the body crumbling over the pew.

Ted held his knees and panted, his own blood dripping from his knuckles.

"I beat your statues!" He shouted. "So please.. just let me go."

"I'm afraid I can't do that," Charlotte's voice echoed through the church.

"Why not?"

Her heels clicked over the floor as she made her way towards him. "You came in here drunk, how do you expect me to let you go?"

"I wasn't drunk, it was my friend!" Ted lied.

"You both were drunk! You more than him. Now you shall pay."

"No!" Ted sprinted to the other side of the room.

"Hey! Stop that!" Charlotte chased after him. Right before she could even grab him, he ran again to the opposite side. She slapped her forehead and sighed. "Enough with your games. It's time to pay the—"

"HEY!"

Charlotte and Ted turned to look at a figure dressed in black who appeared in the center of the room.

"I suggest you let him go." A girl with a black bob declared.

"Where did you come from?" Charlotte yelled angrily.

"From the ceiling!" Amy pointed.

"That's impossible!"

"Hear that? I wonder what excuses you will be making to the police after they find your iron church doors and wicked statues."

"Hm," Charlotte chuckled as she walked over to Amy. "Actually, it's more like what excuses YOU will be making."

Ted and Amy gasped as Charlotte took out a device and with the press of a button, instantly pulverized the mannequins and unlocked the iron doors. The church was rid of any evidence. The sirens got closer and closer until...

"Everyone! Step out of the church!"

"Can you guys report what happened?" Officer Ben asked, his eyelids dropping as he tapped his pen over a tiny notepad.

"My friend and I went into church together, but there was no one else there. Just Charlotte and Juliet," Ted recounted.

Officer Ben sighed. "Ok, and I understand that Charlotte and Juliet are the ones who give mass there. What's the problem?"

"Well, they threatened us and an iron door shut us in with statues blocking any exit. Some of the statues then came and threw my friend Edward out."

Seeing the scared expression on the young brunette's face, the officer cleared his throat and decided to play along. "Ahem. And to where do you suppose they threw your friend out?"

"That's the thing," Ted said frustrated, "I don't know! She wouldn't let me go until after uh—" He turned around and looked at the girl with the bob.

"Amy," she introduced herself.

"After Amy showed up."

"And how did Amy show up?"

"I got in through a door that a statue wasn't blocking," she looked around suspiciously.

"Is that so..?"

Behind them were Charlotte and Julia, giving their account of the incident to Officer Drake.

"It's ok sweety, just tell me what happened," Officer Drake consoled a crying Julia.

"Charlotte, tell him!" She hugged Charlotte.

"You see," Charlotte wiped away a false tear and pointed at the other two. "That man and his friend there threatened us!" She immediately broke down into tears.

"How so?" Officer Drake inquired.

"He tried to hit me, for no reason at all! He just came into the church drunk with his other drunk friend who ran off before you arrived. Oh!" She cried again, holding Julia to her.

"It's ok, Miss Charlotte. I assure you we'll settle things."

"Thank you so much!" She sniffled. "God bless you."

"Of course. God bless you too." Officer Drake turned around and picked up his walkie talkie. "Hey Ben? Bring the delinquents to the cop car. Over."

"Roger that," Officer Ben grinned and put away his walkie talkie.

"Why are you guys using walkie talkies? You're literally right next to each other," said Amy.

"Don't speak. You guys are under arrest."

"Fuck."

"Shoot."

"Yippee!"

***

"I can't believe I'm in a police car AGAIN," Ted shook his head in disbelief.

"Again?" Amy raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah," Ted slouched back in his seat, "but last time was exactly like this. I was just trying to help a friend find her kidnapped sister."

"Oh, you mean Naomi?"

"Wait— You know her?"

Amy leaned back and stared out the window. "Let's just say I work with her. And I know what she's been through."

"Uh.. so how's Naomi?"

Amy turned to look at Ted. "How should I know?"

"You said you know what she's been through. How is she handling all that?"

"She's fine for a person who's sister got kidnapped. So I'd say she's handling it pretty well."

Ted nodded. "Say Amy.. how did you find me?"

"Well, I got a message from my boss telling me to sneak into a church. What Miss Charlotte and Julia did is really suspicious. I wonder what they're scheming."

"What exactly is your job?"

Amy shook her head and adjusted her shades. "I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to disclose that information."

"Oh.. I see. I guess that means Naomi has to keep secrets too."

"That's right."

"Ok kids we're here! Don't get out yet. We're going to handcuff you," Officer Drake called from the front.

Ted banged his head on the seat as Amy sighed loudly.

"The trees, the flowers, the sun, the colorful arrays on such a wonderful day.. Aren't you getting deja vu?" Jack chuckled as Britney blushed and giggled.

"Yeah, totally."

Jack caught her staring at his lips and smiled, causing her to blush even more and look away shyly. She looked back and caught him looking at hers this time, so she smiled. Oh my gosh, I think we're going to kiss!

They were just about to lean into each other when a high pitched voice fangirled.

"SO have you guys canoodled yet?!"

Britney gasped and Jack shouted, "Lena!"

Britney looked from Jack to Lena and ran away in embarrassed frustration.

"Britney!" They both called out.

Jack sighed.

"Why did she run away?" Lena asked confused.

"Because you scared her!" Jack frowned at his sister.

"How?! I just asked if you guys were having a good time!"

"No, you didn't," Jack crossed his hands angrily over his chest. "You said it in a way that made us uncomfortable."

"Aw Jack, I'm sorry. You know I'm the most innocent of all you guys."

"Yes," he sighed and spoke softly "and you don't realize the naughty things you say. Please, just promise me you'll be more careful."

Lena nodded sadly, a bit disappointed that she'd separated the two lovers.

Amy paced around the cell, trying to concoct a plan. Ted, who was in the same cell as her, sighed loudly.

"Why do I have to be back here?" He gripped one of the metal bars in front of him dramatically and looked to the distance. "It wasn't even my fault! If only Edward hadn't..." He let his forehead tap against the bar. "Oh no, what will everyone think of me..?"

"Stop with your pitiful monologue! It's annoying!"

"Well, why don't you stop with your pacing? That's even more annoying!" Ted glared at Amy before returning a somber look to the outside. "Man I just hope Jack doesn't see me here."

"Who's Jack?"

"He's a police officer here. I know him because he's one of my friend's brother and boyfriend."

"That's kind of..."

"No no, I meant he's one of my friend's brother and the other friend's boyfriend."

"Oh well that makes sense!"

Ted noticed Amy tapping away at something on her palm. "Hey, how come they didn't take YOUR phone?"

"It's not a phone."

"Then wha-"

Amy held a finger to her lips and raised the device to her ear. "Susan! Am I surprised to hear you! What is it you wanted to tell me?"

"Amy. Morgan is missing."

"What do you mean missing?" Worry creased into Amy's brow.

"President Morgan has been kidnapped."
