Chapter 1. Interview

"Uhm so what's your name kid?"
A man with a white coat asked, tapping his pencil on his clipboard.

"They call me The Game Master."
I huffed with annoyance.

"Yeah sure kid, how old are you?"

"I'm 8 years old."
I replied.

"Are you aware that your 'games' are harming others?"

"No."
I responded quickly.

"Have you eaten anything strange?"

I fell silent after that question, my blood boiled as my hand curled up into a fist.

"Why are you asking me this? Is this an interrogation?"
I asked coldly.

"No, only data."
The man responded.

"I'm starting to think I'm not at a mental hospital."
I kept calm even though I wanted to scream and shout.

The man even fell silent.

"Only the greatest minds can figure that out within only a few minutes."
The man whispered to me, it was weird he was communicating through my mind almost. His mouth wasn't moving, he was just looking at me.

"Have you eaten?"
He asks again.

Is he trying to get me out of this situation?

"No."
I held onto my stomach, I realized that I haven't eaten in days, weeks! I've been too busy making my games. I never thought about my own needs, I feel so...so...hungry...

I'd bite my lips.

"You aren't safe, I see something in you, I will help you survive this place."
The man whispered once more.

How am I supposed to survive this place?! I-I just wanted to make games!

"I know you're hungry for more games, but you need to pay along."
He'd whisper again.

Wait, can you hear me through my mind?
I asked silently in my head.

"Yes, I use this power to help any children from being killed or experimented on, and you might be the perfect vessel for something."

Vessel!? I don't wanna be a vessel! I want to be The Game Master!
I thought angrily.

"Stay calm, I'll keep asking questions."

Fine.

"Have you ever been in contact with any type of weapon? for example a knife."

"Yes. For my oath card."
I responded calmly.

The man looked back at another man and nodded at each other.

The other man standing in the corner took out a plastic bag with all of my cards in it, and they placed the plastic bag down on the table.

"Is this the oath card?"

I nodded, anxiety rising a bit.

"Have you ever used this card for any...blood sacrifices?"
The man asked.

What kind of question is that!? My games aren't cults!
I bit back words.

"Play along."
He whispered again.

Honestly I've been obeying like a dog. How can I trust you?

"People called me Miracle, until these people took me in and called me Truth seeker."

Truth seeker? That's one of my cards! What do you want me to call you?

"I prefer my old name, I wish to not forget it."
Miracle held his hands together and looked at me sternly.

Alright then.
I sighed.

"Has these games ever killed anyone?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Care to explain the death No.75 then?"
Miracle handed a paper to me.

It was one of the players. Ben. Ben was the arrogant one but I didn't cheat and kill him! How could they blame me! If it was the luck card he pulled out he wouldn't have died! Just food poisoning!

"So you didn't murder Ben?"
Miracle whispered.

No! I don't intend to kill people!

"I see, now respond to the question."
Miracle's gaze was piercing, he's so scary outside of the mind.

"Ah, Ben was one of the most arrogant  players, even if I had wanted to poison him he played a game of luck."
I responded as if I was chill.

Miracle nodded to the other man once more.

The luck card was placed on the table with the plastic bag. But it had a little bit of blood on it.

Blood?! Since when!?

I breathed heavily.

"Truth seeker, it's time."
The man grabbed Miracle.

"Where are you taking me!?"
Miracle was able to shove the man away, then he straightened his coat.

"You know where."
The man snorted.

"Oh. What about the subject here?"
Miracle looked at me with worry.

"We have other plans for them."
The man forced Miracle out.

But that wasn't the last of Miracle. I know it.
