Chapter 6: Stolen

It was a sunny day, perhaps mid-afternoon, and I had gone to explore the sunflower fields. I collected a few of the bright yellow flowers to decorate the camp with, which was pretty bland if I'm being completely honest. I bent down to cut the flowers at the root, remembering something my mom used to tell me. 'The longer the stem, the longer the life of the flower you cut.'

I had twelve maybe thirteen of the flowers with me at the time. I set them down as I went to cut the last one from the root before seeing a bright flash. The light had glared off some sort of metal.

"Hey, look at this!" I said as I poked around one of the sunflowers. I had found a shiny, silver and gold ring. It was thicker than your standard ring band and had a small engraving on it that was just a little too hard to read. I couldn't believe someone had just left it lying at the root of one of the plants like that. "This looks valuable, someone might have lost it..."

James made his way over to where I was in the field as I picked up the ring. "Wait a minute let me see that..." I handed him the ring.

"Do you know who's it is?" I asked as he examined it. His face turned from curiosity to shock. "What? Who's is it?"

      "We thought Felix stole this..."

      "Wait, what now?"

"This is what we've been looking for this whole time..." He stated sticking it in his pocket. " We've gotta get this back to the camp..."

We made our way back to the camp as quickly as we could, being as careful as we could. While we were on our way I was greeted by many of the boys, which had been nice, but I had to ignore each one. "Sorry guys but this is important!" I said turning to face them before continuing. We made our way up to Credence, who seemed a bit distraught.

"Hey Credence, where's Peter?" James asked with a tone of urgency.

"I don't know, nobody's seen him today," Credence replied.

"Wait, since we found the ring am I free to go?" I asked.

      "You found it?" Credence asked.

"It was in the sunflower field over by the woods," James had replied before I could. "I guess since the ring's being returned you're free to go..."

"Well not yet though," Credence added. "It needs to be in Pan's possession before he'll let her leave,"

"That's why we need to find him, I wanna go home..." I explained.

"Well yeah, but you've still gotta find Jax," James added. "He's the only one who knows how to get off the island unless of course, you're able to find Wendy,"

"Yeah, but nobody's seen her in quite a long while. Not even Peter," Credence said.

"Enough of this talking, we've gotta get searching," I said taking my hair and sticking it into a quick bun. "Let's go, You can start by asking around, I'll check the woods and we'll all meet back here in half an hour," We all broke off, I headed into the woods while James and Credence asked around the camp.

You know, there's a lot of things you can do when you have trust. You can easily manipulate the minds of others, especially those you're close to. I wandered the forest before coming across the tree I had marked off, I took the red scarf off the tree, and tied a green one to the same branch. Attached to the trunk of the tree was a note.

Only bring the people you trust.

See you later wolf girl,
