Chapter 5: Spring
As the days went by the rumours of my offer had begun to spread throughout the camp like wildfire. Everything was falling into place quite nicely. I knew I was gaining new followers by the day. Starting the revolution. I didn't know when my plan would fall into action, all I knew was how.
As the spring weather god warmer, the days grew nicer. Everyone was happier with the smell of lilies and dandelions. The leaves had started to grow back onto the trees, as well as the annual flowers. The bushes had gotten fuller and started to grow an assortment of berries. The fields were littered with flowers. It was overall just a better experience.
Every day, I was reminded of a meal and escorted to the location of that meal. Over the days I had noticed more and more people actually started to have civilised conversations with me. I was no longer a prisoner to them, I was family. Today was no different.

"Hi, Nate! How are you doing today?" I asked
"Good, I got a new bike today!"
"You did? Do you like it?"
"Yeah, you wanna see?"
"Yeah, sure!" I said before he zipped off to grab his bike. He brought it back with the brightest smile on his face. "Oh wow, that's a good one isn't it,"
"Mhmm!" He said setting down the bike. We spent the rest of the meal talking, a few of the other boys had gathered around as well. One of them had brought a book that they had recommended I read. I flipped through the first few pages, it seemed like it would be interesting.
"Hey Ruby, could you tell us the story about the bird?" Nathaniel asked
"Of course," I said before beginning my story. " I was walking through Birmingham last spring with a doughnut and a cup of coffee just enjoying the day. When all of a sudden, a pigeon swooped down and took a bite out of my doughnut..." I started
