A day after I called my boss he send me a letter. It was just some stuff I had to sign and I was free. This is so weird I didn't expect this. It was way too suspicious for them to let me go so easily but I didn't mind that at all.

I was so happy. I was going to leave as soon as I signed those papers but I had promised Nataliya that I would go with her to some kind of party which was the same day. It was important for her since it was from her job I couldn't leave her alone. So I'm leaving after the party.

Somewhere around three twenty she came to my apartment and started to get my stuff in the baggage and ready for when the party is over. After that we got ready for the party.

We took a cab to her job. The party was really cool. I met most of her colleagues. Some of them were very nice some were weird and others would even try to flirt with me but I told them straight away that I wasn't interested. Overall we had a great night with Nat.

But almost at the end of the evening. When I was ready to leave to the airport I got a phone call. It was an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"If you get on that plane you plan to go you're mate is going to die. If you try to contact him or try to go to him I will kill him. I am watching you very closely so I'll know if you don't do as you're said. I hope you understood me."

I didn't even had the time to say something before the caller hung up. I couldn't say if it was a man or a woman because they were using one of those voice changing programs.

The second they hung up I got a message saying "I am watching both of you so be careful what you're doing". It was photos of Emmet walking down the streets.

He was so damn handsome. He was just too sexy. I am so happy he is my mate. Even though I know how much bad he's done I couldn't stop wanting him. My wolf is controlling my emotions and there's only lust, passion, need and even love.

It took me a few minutes to realize what just happened. I can't leave. I can't go to him cause they can kill him.
First of all who was this person. And how do they know about me and Emmet? Second, how did they knew I was leaving tonight? There were so much questions and no answers.

With this photo they proved me that this is not some kind of a joke. It's real. And if I leave now I won't be able to get to Emmet soon enough before they get him.

I thought someone stabbed me in my back. The pain I felt was real. I can't have him. It's all my fault. If I didn't run away from him the first time we would be together now. I needed him so much. I know what he has done in his life and I won't put that behind my back but he's my mate after all. He deserves a chance to prove to me that he's not that bad guy from the papers I was given when I had to kill him. We haven't even had the chance to get to know each other because of me. I would do anything just to be with him. To be able to see him, to hear his voice, to touch him, to caress his sexy body, to hug him and kiss him. Just the thought of that makes me fell so good and so bad at the same time.

Me and my wolf felt so much pain and so much anger from that single call. We wanted to kill the person who threatened our mate.

I just stayed there in the empty hall with a scared Nat by my side. I just stared blankly at the space not saying anything.

"Katerina tell me what's going on right now!"

"I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know? How can you not know? Who called you? What did they said?"

"I don't know who called. They said I can't go to Emmet or they'll kill him. They even sent me a picture of him."

"But who could that be? And what are we going to do now?"

"I don't know Nat. I don't know. Can I just leave please?"

I wanted to go home and clear my mind from what happened. I have to think about who could that be and how to get to Emmet before them. I needed a plan. I won't give up on him.

"Yeah of course we're leaving. Let's go."

"No, you stay I don't want to ruin your night."

"Less talking more walking girl. My place or your place?"

"Mine."

We went in my apartment and I took a quick shower. So did Natalia. I put on some comfortable clothes then went in the living room where Nat was waiting for me on the couch.

"Okay so let's see what we have so far." Said Natalia.

I sighed and got my head in my hands frustrated from the situation.

"Almost nothing. I can't think of anyone who would want to hurt me."

"Fine but whoever this is how did they knew so much?"

"They must have been following me I guess. But still I have never mentioned Emmet when we were out. We have talked about him in your or my apartment."

"Then they must have found a way to break in one or even both of the apartments and put a mic somewhere but how I don't remember sensing someone other than you and me."

I thought about how could someone break in without us noticing anything. And then I remembered.

"The party! The party for your birthday. There were a lot of people."

"Yeah you're right. But whoever it was how are we going to find him?"

"Maybe we can go and check the camera footage from that night and see if there's someone we don't recognize."

"First thing in the morning tomorrow. Can I sleep here tonight? I'm too tired to go home."

I smiled and hugged her.

"Of course you're staying. We're gonna cuddle all night long my love."

"I don't know how can you be funny in moments like this. We were just talking about the one threatening your and Emmet's life and now you're making some silly jokes."

"Well you know. I gotta stay positive. I gotta hope for the best."

****the next day***

As soon as we woke up we got ready and headed to the closest caffe to quickly buy a coffee and then went to Natalia's apartment. We were hoping they have the footage from that night and that they allow us to watch it. We found the porter and asked for the footage. He was a nice old man and agreed to show it to us.

"Okay watch closely and if you see someone unknown tell me." I told Nat.
The good thing was that we had one camera that was filming the entry of the apartment.

"Stop! This one. I am 100% sure I don't know this guy."

She pointed at some guy with a hat on his head. We couldn't see his face when he was getting in but when he was leaving we could almost see his whole head but it was enough for me. I got a picture of him and send it to a guy who owns me his life and in ten minutes I got a name and address. His name was Sam Miller. We have never heard of that name.

Since we know now that there is a mic or a camera somewhere in Nat's place we made a plan. We got there and sat on the couch to talk.

"So I heard of this new restaurant. You wanna go eat there. They said the food is delicious."

"No I don't feel like going out today. I'm just gonna stay all day at home and watch something. Probably cook something."

"Okay. Suit yourself."

The plan was to make him think I am staying home all night while I go and surprise him at his place. Pretty easy. Natalia wanted to come with me but I assured her that I will be okay and that this was my thing.

When it got somewhere around 2am I left my apartment and went to find Sam. I made it pretty quickly there.

I knocked on the door and waited for him. I didn't waste any time and immediately after he opened the door I hit him in the head with my gun. He collapsed on the floor. I got in quickly and closed the door took one of his chairs. Made sure it's stable enough. I put Sam on it and tied him good with the rope I bought then put a tape on his mouth so he doesn't scream or anything. When I was ready with him I looked around to see if I can find anything.

And indeed I found a desk. There were different pictures of me, Emmet and Natalia. There were notes with our addresses, phone numbers, jobs, lists of favorite places and most visited places by me. He followed me everywhere and I didn't even notice. There was a phone on the desk. I searched through and saw that he have called me and Emmet. But there was one number I didn't recognize. So this must be his boss's number cause I doubt that this men here have something to do with me. I wrote the number on my phone for later. I heard him waking up so I went to remove the tape and to have a little chat with him.

"Hello Sam." I stood behind him.

"So you found me. That was fast." He smiled as I walked in front of him.

"What do you want from us?" I asked straight away not waisting any time.

"I don't want anything from you." He said looking at like I'm dumb.

"Then who does? Who send you?"

I was pretty angry and I wasn't hiding it. I wanted him to be scared of me. I needed to know the truth.

"Why do you think I will tell you anything?"

I smiled mischievously at him.

"And here I thought we could be friends and you could just tell me what I want to know so you can walk out of this place alive." I quickly punched his face with my fist as strong as I could.

He groaned in pain and spit blood from his mouth.

"Was that enough or do you want more? Case I've got a lot more from where this came from." And I hit him again. Just when I was about to punch him for the third time I saw he have a baseball bat. Perfect. I punched him and went to take the bat.

"Are you going to talk?" I asked standing behind him again with the bat in my hands ready to be used.

"Not gonna tell you anything you bitch."

"Just what I wanted to hear." Before he had the chance to see me I hit him hard in the stomach.

"Ohhh." I gotta admit he's not giving up easily but I know what to do to break him. He's not the first one that I'm trying to make talk.

He started to make a noise so I took a towel and covered his mouth. Then I hit him again with all the power I've got in me. Good thing I covered his mouth.

"Are you ready to talk now?" He just stared at me. Probably imagining how he kills me.

And so I kept torturing him for like an hour or two. I felt it. He was on the verge of spilling out the truth. He just needed a little push.

"Are you going to talk already or you're going to waist more of my precious time."

And with a knife in his leg, probably ten or more inside injures, broken nose and loss of some of his teeth he finally gave up.

Or so I thought.

"I ain't telling you shit. Kill me if you want but you're not gonna hear anything from me."

He was useless. I covered his mouth with the towel and then I hit him on the head and he fainted. I took his phone and threw it on the wall so it breaks. I did that a few more time to make sure it's broken. I took the note with all the addresses, phone numbers etc. I looked around one last time for something that can be useful then left. I quickly stopped a free cab and went in.

"To the airport please."

Then I called Nat.

"Nat please get some clothes get yours and my passport, take the money I showed you yesterday. All of them. I'll be waiting for you at the airport. Be as fast as you can we don't have a lot of time."

"Ok. Meet you there."

I looked up on the internet and saw that there was a flight to Port Angeles in two hours. The flight is almost fife hours so I should be there in around seven hours.

When I got there I got a message from Nat saying she's close. Ten minutes later I saw her getting out of a cab and went to her.

"Hey what happened? Why are we leaving?" She asked when we headed to the entrance.

"I didn't get anything from him. But I bought us some time and we have to hurry my flight is in les than two hours and you have to choose where to go."

"Wait! What do you mean choose? Aren't we leaving together?"

I sighed and stopped walking to look at her.

"It's for your safety. You're going on a vacation. You choose where I pay. If you want you can go to Hawaii or France or Brazil or Italy. I know you love Italy so you can go there. I'll give you cash so you don't use credit cards."

"But why? And what about you?" I got the paper I took from Sam's place and gave it to her.

"I'm sure this list is not the only one they have. They know where you live, where you work or eat. Everything. I don't want you to get hurt cause I'm going to Emmet. And if we are together they might take you as a hostage or something and I won't forgive myself if something happens to you. So please go wherever you want. We are gonna find a way to fix this and I'll call you when everything's over."

She looked at me with a sad face and on the verge of crying and then she hugged me.

"Please take care of yourself."

"I will. Thank you Nat."

"I going to-"

"Don't tell me! If something happens I don't want to know where you are. I will find you when it's all over. Don't come back if I haven't told you to. It might still be dangerous."

She nodded and then we said our goodbyes and she left to buy her ticket. I went to the toilet to change my clothes cause I've got blood on them.

The flight went well and as soon as we landed and I left the airport I went to the end of the city in the forest and turned into my wolf. The feeling to be a wolf again was amazing. I hadn't had any time to run with my wolf. Now I feel so powerful and energetic. It feels awesome.

I was almost there when I felt a sharp pain on my neck and the last thing I remember were the leaves on the ground.
