"So were you planning to tell me you were going to go pay Thomas a visit tonight while I am asleep?" I asked changing the subject.

"So you're eavesdropping now?" He asked.

"Well you know part of my alpha qualities and you can't answer the question with a question." I was getting mad at him for deciding to go behind my back.

"I just want to kill that son of b###h." I frowned at him.

"Yeah me too Emmet but that doesn't mean you have to go behind my back whenever you decide." I confronted him.

"What do you want me to do then Katerina?! He hurt you! He slapped you on the face and then punched you in your stomach not to mention that he dressed you up. He has seen you naked and had the chance to take advantage of your unconsciousness! For god's sake, Katerina just that thought of that makes me see red." He said angrily walking around the bed.

"I'm not making this into a contest but you almost died in my hands, Emmet! He punched me a few times. Whatever not the first time" he frowned at that," probably not the last one. Seriously I don't give a crap about that even if he had raped me. I would still have survived that but had they killed you what was I going to do, huh?" He leaned on the windows with his back at me. I knew he was angry and what I said didn't ease him but it was the truth.

"What I'm trying to tell you Emmet is that I've been hurt physically so many times and I've healed every single one of them but I would never heal from the pain of losing you." I went to him and stood next to him and looked at the beautiful river and trees. Tonight was so beautiful. "And I need you to trust me enough with those kind of things. I can fight, I can protect myself and I'm not afraid to hurt or to hunt down and kill the bastards that want to hurt us. I want to be next to you in every step while getting there. There's someone we have to find I'll be there, there's someone we have to torture to make him talk I'll be there, there's someone we have to kill I'll be there. And not only will I be there but I will be part of this as much as you. Don't make me feel useless and unwanted, please." I looked at him and we made eye contact.

"I'm not trying to make you feel useless or unwanted Katerina. I want to protect you because I want you and I need you. I don't ever want you to get hurt." He caressed my cheeks looking at me with adoration and worry written on his face.

"Same goes for me but I can't lock you in the house and deal with this by myself, right? For whatever reason, they want to hurt us or even kill us and we're in this together so you either include me in this or I am doing this without you. It's the hard way or the easy way which one will you choose?" I had to tell him that he has to understand I am in this as much as he is and him pushing me out of it like that is unacceptable. He looked at me questioning what I said and let go of my face.

"What do you mean doing it without me?"

"I will give myself up and try to find whoever the leader is and what they want from us and then kill him." I said not really thinking about it cause first he won't let me do it and second I want to do it with him not without. This seems to make him angrier.

"Is that so? You might as well just kill yourself now cause they will outnumber you the second they get you and you won't stand a chance alone."

"This is why I want you to tell me everything and include me in this and not treat me like some fragile little girl that can't protect herself. " I said trying to stop this fighting and enjoy ourselves. I hugged him from the waist and looked at his eyes. "Please, can't you just agree with me?" He sighed and hugged me back.

"I will under one condition. When it comes to it I'll do the fighting and you will do the talking." I smiled at him and agreed to that knowing all too well that it won't happen like that and he knew that but for now, it was okay.

"I am going to make myself tea, do you want some?" I asked heading to the door. He shook his head for no and turned back to the window.

I went downstairs and made tea but decided to stay a little on the balcony there was one of those big swings with a really big and fluffy cushion. I took a blanket went to sit there and enjoy the view and my tea.

I sat there thinking of how really quickly my life and feelings change all the time. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions I've never felt before. Everything is so new to me and I fear that at some point I'll break for not knowing what to do and how to keep my loved ones safe. I just hope that in the end, everyone gets what they deserve.

A few minutes later I heard Emmet coming downstairs and then outside where I was.

"Can I join you?" He asked wanting to snuggle with me.

"Of course love, come." I said making space for him next to me. He sat and I covered him with the big blanket. I then leaned my head on his shoulder and he hugged me.

"It's a beautiful night."

"Yeah but you're a better view. Much better." He said kissing my head. We stayed there enjoying the company of the other one and the calm night outside.

Someone's phone from inside the house went off and woke me up. I realized that we had fallen asleep outside I looked at my mate and he was still sleeping peacefully. I got up and thankfully he didn't wake up I covered him up with the blanket and went inside to see which phone was it. I got upstairs and it was an alarm that was not important. I looked at my clothes and put some shorts and a sports bra.

I tried to see if Emmet had headphones somewhere around in the bedroom and I found them in his nightstand. Took them and my phone and went outside on the yard and decided to stretch myself a little, get some fresh air and then do some training until Emmet wakes up.

I was sweating a lot and the sun didn't help and was almost done when I looked up at the balcony where Emmet was sleeping and to my surprise, he was already awake leaning on the railing watching at me snugly. I stopped training and removed the headphones from my ears. I smiled at him.

"Good morning handsome. What are you doing there?"

"Watching." Said not feeling guilty at all.

"What exactly are you watching?"

"You. Your butt is very attractive and your breasts..." He said smiling at himself imagining me naked I guess.

"Shame on you" I said laughing and without giving him any time to say something I ran inside and upstairs to find him. He accepted me with wide open hands and just when I was about jump in them I stopped and looked at him seriously.

"I'm all sweaty."

"Come here." He quickly took me into his arms and I jumped up and kissed him.

The kiss turned into a very passionate one and the next thing I knew we were in the shower with all of our clothes. He quickly turned the water on and then I took his shirt off unveiling his perfectly made specifically for me, chest. "My god, Katerina you're body is just so..." he stopped, looking for the right word to explain "so mine!" was all he said before he started sucking on my breasts. I could feel his buddy very much aroused and waiting for me in his wet jeans, so I quickly unbuttoned his jeans and underwear and pushed them down and he tossed them on the floor. Everything was just so perfect right now and of course, something had to ruin it. Someone was at the door ringing very impatiently.

"Uh, why does someone has to ruin our moment every single time?!" Asked Emmet.

"It's okay Emmet maybe the next time will be even better. Now go see go it is and I'll finish my shower." Since I was the one needing the shower he went out of the shower cabin took a towel and wrapped it around his waist and headed outside. I kind of got jealous because the one who's downstairs will see him with only a towel but it was okay I guess. I finished my shower, got dressed, and went downstairs.

Fortunately for me, there were no women there only one male. Very muscular but not as much as Emmet and very handsome but again not as much as Emmet. They were talking in the living room. I got their attention when I entered the room. Emmet smiled at me and pulled his hand for me and I went right in his arm.

"Katerina meet my beta, Peter." He introduced me to the guy.

"Hi! Nice to finally meet you, Peter." I said shaking hands with him.

"Nice to meet you too Luna." I just smiled at him and Emmet saw that even though we are together now I'm still not used to being called Luna, so he continued with what they talked about before I came.

"So do we know anything about who's the leader or why they are doing all of this?"

"Nope, not even a little bit. Everyone is dead and the only one alive is not saying anything."

"Maybe we should pay him a visit?" Emmet said looking at me "Are you coming?" He asked me smirking at me.

"Like hell I am. But I think you should put some clothes on first." I said and Emmet agreed and went upstairs to get dressed but not before he kissed me on the forehead.

Now it was just me and Peter.

"So Peter how is life going? How old are you? Did you meet your mate yet or no? How did you become the beta?" He laughed at me for thinking of so many questions. We sat on the two sofas.

"Well, life is good. I haven't met her yet, unfortunately. I am as old as Emmet 29 years old we are friends from a very little age our parents were best friends and when he became the alpha he chose me right away. What about you? I heard you are a master killer."

"Ha, I like that. Master killer. Yeah, you could say that. I pay my bills with killing pathetic pigs." I said smiling.

"I really hope you and Emmet stay together, he wasn't himself when you left the last time. The more time you were gone the more he was angry and sad and it just wasn't him. And when they called him and told him to come and save you he left the second without thinking about it."

"Wait they called him? He came by himself?" I asked shocked.

"Yeah one day they just called him and told him they had you and if he wants you back he should come alone. He stopped me from following him right away. He told me to wait two hours and then go after him. I had no choice he ordered me and you know I can't disobey his orders."

"Oh my god. I didn't know that."

"Know what?" Asked Emmet from the stairs. I stood up and went straight to him.

"That you came to safe me." I just hugged him.

"You told her about the call?" He asked Peter not breaking the hug only hugging me stronger.

"Yeah."

"Of course I did Katerina. You're my mate I would do it again and again, only thing is that YOU saved me instead." He smiled caressing my head.

"Still you didn't think you just run to safe me not knowing where you're going or who will be waiting for you there."

"I didn't care as long as you were there." I looked up into his beautiful eyes.

"Thank you." I kissed him very lightly but he deepened the kiss holding me from my back and head.

"Let's go kick some ass." I said breaking the kiss wanting to be over all the danger that all over us.

He agreed and we all headed to the dungeon. It was far from the house of course but we decided to go there walking and we talked most of the time.

"I don't expect him to say anything I mean I already tried. We might as well just kill him already." I said to Emmet.

"Oh no! He's not dying any time soon. He might not say anything but I'll make him pay for everything he did to you."

Just after he finished his sentence I smelled something unknown, unusual.

"Do you smell that?" I said and stopped where I was, looking around us. But I couldn't see anything unusual. "There's someone here." I went closer to Emmet he went from normal to an extra protective alpha mate mode. He was on one of my side and Peter on the other both trying to protect me from the unknown. Next thing I know Emmet and Peter both fell on the ground.

"Emmet!" I went down to him his eyes were wide open but not a single part of his body moved. It was like he was frozen. But I could see from his eyes he was awake and was seeing everything. It was like he was paralyzed. Peter was the same.

A few seconds after I realized what's happened I felt the sharp pain on the back of my neck and then everything went black.

They got us again!
