It had been a week since the Lothwolf's attack and Ezra still hadn't woken.
They knew he was alive but he just wasn't showing it. The bite mark was healing but the others wished he'd wake up.
Kanan sat in the chair beside Ezra. He'd been there all the time, only leaving to use the refresher and get food.
"Hey love" Hera said entering the medic-bay.
"Hey Hera" Kanan said quietly.
She handed him a cup of Kaff and sat beside him.
"Have you slept?" She asked seeing his dark under eyes. "Hardly. I'm too scared for Ezra" Kanan replied.
Here's expression softened.
"I knew your scared for him Kanan, but you're going to pass out from tiredness if you continue like this."
"How can I sleep knowing I almost caused his death?"
"What are you talking about?"
"He protected us from that Lothwolf. He stood up and fought to the death against that thing. And it almost costed him his life."
"How is that your fault? Ezra wanted to protect us."
"I know. Thing is, I'm supposed to protect him. He's my Padawan, that's what good master's are supposed to do."
"You're not a great master" a voice rasped.
The two adults looked down at the bed to see Ezra gazing up at them. 
"You're an amazing master."
"Ezra!" Kanan said almost laughing hysterically with releif.
He put his arms around his Padawan and Ezra draped his paws over Kanan's​ right shoulder.
"You had us so worried" Kanan said drawing away.
"How long was I out?"
"About a week" Kanan replied.
"Kanan" Hera gripped his shoulder.
"What?"
"Looks at Ezra's eyes."
Kanan turned back to his friend and gasped.
Ezra's once brown eyes were now his sparkling blue.
"What is it?" Ezra asked.
Hera grabbed a mirror and showed him.
The Fyrnock's face broke into a smile of happiness.
"It's finally happening" he said.
"I feel like doing a back flip."
"Word of advice, don't" Kanan said pointing to Ezra's wound.
"Oh. I forgot about that" Ezra said.
"You're gonna need to take it easy Ez" Hera told him.
"I will."
"Hey Ezra. Quick question. Why did it take you a week to wake?" Kanan asked.
"Well. I don't know. I was trapped in darkness the entire time and wanted to get out of it. I suppose hearing your guys talk put light into the dark and I followed it. It's quite hard to explain but I'm glad it's over."
"Me too kid" Kanan said.
Ezra yawned and curled up again the two adults looked at one another with smiles.
"Hey Ezra one more thing, why do you think I'm a amazing master?" Kanan asked.
"I let you get hurt."
"I have one reason only Kanan. Because you took me in when I was alone. And​ you've taught me to never let go."
