I was about to pull out the ring when there was a scream.

I quickly pulled out riptide. I scanned the building for the threat. My eyes landed on it. There was a masked person who had a gun to the cashier.

What the h*ll is going on!

Then more people, about 5 people with masks came crashing through the window.

I had a feeling these people weren't monsters. Monsters didn't need to wear mask, right?

Annabeth looked alarmed and muttered something under her breath. I couldn't hear what she was saying though. I pulled out a phone that the gods had made to thank the demigods for saving their podex's. I dialed 911.

"This is 911 operator. How may I assist you?" The person on the other side of the call said.

I told them the situation. Meanwhile, one of the robbers came over by us. He raised his gun and shot my phone.

Oh SCHIST! They grabbed my shoulder from behind and I kicked them where the sun don't shine. They fell to the ground.
Then another maskling. That's what I'm going to call them walked behind Annabeth holding a gun.

My eyes widened. "Annabeth!" I screamed.

She seemed to get the message and spun around and swept him off his feet. His gun skidded onto the ground. Their(the maskling and Annabeth) eyes met and then they both looked at the gun. Annabeth dove for it and so did the maskling. Annabeth reaches it first then held it up. The maskling held his hands up to his head. I looked around more masklings were coming this way and the other people were terrified.

That was reasonable because their date was just crushed by robbers. I kicked the person again and grabbed his gun. I pointed it at the other two who were making there way over here and they froze. They must have been unarmed. Who robs a place unarmed!? This was not well planned out.

Then the person who Annabeth had stolen the gun from bolted and Annabeth dashed after him.

I had a feeling I should duck and luckily I did because if I didn't, the fifth maskling would have shot me. I didn't want to shoot them because I knew they wouldn't come back to life and I wasn't a murderer.

Sure I killed plenty of monsters but they get another chance. Mortals didn't. Just because they were robbing a place didn't mean they deserved death. Hopefully the police would get here soon. I took "activated" riptide.

Sure it won't harm them but it might intimidate them. As long as it didn't snow up as a hotdog. I was hoping it was a bat or something. I swung at the person with my "bat" in one hand and kept the gun pointed at the other two. Riptide past straight through him and his eyes widened.

He dropped the gun and fainted. Huh. It worked. I turned my attention back to the other masklings. Out of the corner of my eye I saw flashing red and blue lights. I also saw Annabeth handing the other person to the police.
The people around us were still cowering underneath the tables. The man who was at the cash register was gone but I suspect he didn't get far. Three police officers came inside and apprehended the masklings.

A job well done if I do say so myself. And I do. Annabeth came back inside. Carefully stepping across the shattered glass.

" I was exhilarating!" Annabeth exclaimed. "Although not in the best way." I pulled her into a kiss. And pulled out the ring.

"Annabeth Chase, I had a whole speech planned out but the masklings made me forget it. Curse them. I know I'm not good at math or any subject in general but I do know that you plus me is true love and that everyday I'm with you is truly wonderful. But what I'm saying is, Will you marry me?"

Tears glistened in her eyes. "Of course! I love you so much." She pulled me into a kiss. It would have lasted longer if we weren't interrupted by one of the officers.

He cleared his throat. "Sorry to interrupt this romantic moment and all but NYPD would like to thank you for helping apprehend the robbers. Well anyways I have to head back to the station but congratulations and invite me to the wedding." He said. He walked away.

Annabeth laughed. A beautiful sound. "I loved this and all but maybe next time we should go to McDonalds. It never gets robbed."

"Never say never." I said with a laugh.
