Ten Inch Hero pt. 2
Scott sighed, falling into his chair, his script in his hands. He flips to the scene they were working on, reading over the lines. He thought it was going well, but David, the director, kept having them repeat it. So, when David called for a break, Scott wanted to read over the script again, make sure he was doing all he could to get it right.
He looked up as he heard a soft laugh, smiling as Betty made her way to him. Scott had met Betty years ago, when he finally decided to start acting. He had sat beside her in the waiting room for auditions, and they had just started talking. She had been dating a guy at the time, and Scott was partially disappointed. But now, he was glad they were just friends.
"What?" he asked.
"Look behind you," she replied.
Turning in his chair, Scott smiled softened as he saw Mitch not far behind him, playing and laughing with Adair Tishler, the young actress playing Julia in the movie. A wide smile was on Mitch's face, and Betty and Scott watched as he picked Adair up easily, spinning her around, Adair laughed loudly.
"He's good with kids," Betty commented.
"Yeah, he is," Scott agreed softly. He had never really seen Mitch with kids, playing with them or just around them. But watching him now, he knew without a doubt that he was good with kids.
"So...how long till you propose?" Betty asked.
Scott sputtered, looking at her. "Betty, what are you talking about?" he asked, his eyes wide.
She laughed again, smiling. "I can see you love him, Scott. There's no hiding it."
"And I don't!" he replied. "We're living together, we work together, and we have told each other we love each other."
"So, the next step is proposing," Betty stated, shrugging.
Scott sighed, looking back to Mitch for a moment. "Listen, I'm not saying that I'll never marry him, but...just not right now."
"Why?" She asked, throwing up her arms. "Your one year anniversary is coming up! Perfect time to pop the question!"
"That's partially why," Scott answered. "We've only been together a year!"
"I've known people who have gotten married on their year anniversary's," Betty replied, folding her arms.
"And there's nothing wrong with that," Scott responded, sighing. "Mitch and I...went through a lot together, with Ralph." Betty's shoulders instantly feel heavy at the sound of the psycho's name, "And while I know that brought us together more, and made us stronger, I..." Scott looked back at his boyfriend, smiling as he saw him smile with Adair. "I want us together, in a happy point for us both."
Betty sighed softly, making Scott look back at her. "Okay, I can't blame you for that," she told him, smiling. "Mitch is a lucky boy."
"No, I'm the lucky one," Scott replied.
His friend laughed, her smile growing. "Is that just you two's thing?" she asked.
"What do you mean?" Scott replied.
"Second time I've heard you say that," she stated. "I hear it anymore, I'm gonna scream."
Scott laughed as David called, "Alright, back into positions!"

I glanced at the clock, sighing as I saw how late it was. I had just finished cleaning up Betty for a special scene, and I knew that Scott was probably already asleep in the trailer we both shared. I was looking forward to some alone time between us, but once he was asleep, he was out. No waking Scott.
Besides, I still had to clean up everything and lock up, then take the 15 minute walk back to the trailers.
I sighed as my phone vibrated in my pocket, making me pause in my cleaning. Glancing at the screen, I smiled as I that that the one and only Penelope Garcia was texting me."You up?" she asked.
"Sadly, yes," I typed back. "Will be for a while. What's up?"
Setting my phone down as the text sent, I slide the multiple shades of foundation back into their storage spaces.
I was surprised as my phone then started ringing, making me laugh softly as I saw that it was Garcia. Answering her call, I put the phone on speaker. "Hey, girly."
She laughed, replying, "Hey there makeup master. Why are you still up?"
"Late day," I said. "A few closing scenes that needed to be done."
"And they needed your wonderful services for them," Garcia replied. "Of course that's the case."
I laughed, smiling slightly. "So, to what do I owe the pleasure."
"Well, I'm calling about a mutual friend," she said, drawing out her words.
"Todrick?" I asked, frowning my eyebrows.
"No, sadly, not that chocolate god. I'm talking about a certain boy genius."
"Oh, Spencer!" I cried, my smile growing. "What's going?"
"Well, he's been a little...off lately," she told me.
"Off how?" I asked, frowning my eyebrows.
"Well, he constantly looks at his phone, and has for almost a week now," Penelope explained. "And today I finally got him to talk about what's on his mind, and...well, he says he misses you."
I gasped, smiling softly. "What? He does?"
"He really does," she replied. "And I asked why he hasn't just called, but he said he's worried about calling you during work, and that he doesn't want to interrupt anything."
"Awww, he's so sweet," I cooed, pouting. "I miss him too."
"Yeah?" she asked.
"Yeah, I mean, when I have free time, I want to call and talk to him, but I know you guys work crazy hours and crazy cases that need his full attention," I responded, sighing as I locked one of the now full storage spaces.
"Well, I can arrange that," Penelope said brightly. "You just text me when you're free, and I will tell you if our wonderful doctor is free."
"Perfect," I replied, feeling my smile grow.
"Wonderful!" The tech cried. "Well, I will let you finish work, and I expect texts soon, darling."
"You will receive them soon," I replied. "Love you!"
"Love you more!" she stated, before ending the call.

I looked up as a knock sounded on the door to the trailer. "It's Sara."
"Come in," I replied, smiling.
She stepped inside, smiling at Scott and I, who was sitting in the chair, his shirt off. Yes, I was just replacing the fake tattoos, but I would use any excuse to get his shirt off. Not that he minded, at least. I had told him to take it off, and he had replied, "Only if I get a kiss." And well, he had gotten a nice long one.
"Hi Scott, glad you're in here," she said, looking at her clipboard. "You said you wanted to talk about wardrobe?"
"Yes," he stated, getting excited. He spun in the chair, looking to her as I pulled out the supplies to get the already fading tattoos off of him. "I want to wear a kilt."
My jaw dropped. "What?"
He glanced at me, his smile wide, as he nodded. "Yes, I think Priestly would wear a kilt," he told me, before looking to Sara. "Can we do that?"
She looked at him, thinking for a moment while I started to remove the fake tattoos. "What scene were you thinking?" she asked,
"The tampon one," Scott replied instantly.
"Isn't that today?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, but...it would be perfect!" He cried, looking between Sara and I.
She sighed, smiling slightly. "It would," she agreed.
"How fast can we find one?" Scott pushed.
"I have one already actually," she told him, her smile growing. "And it's in your size."
"Yes!" Scott yelled, throwing up his arms, and almost hitting me. Raising an eyebrow, and looking down at him, Scott looked guilty instantly. "Sorry," he muttered.
Looking back to Sara, I asked, "What changes do I need to make?"
"Well the kilt is blue and green," she said, shrugging. "So hair is up to you."
"I'm thinking blue," I muttered, looking at my boyfriend.
"Blue is good," he agreed, smiling. I return it easily.
Sara laughed, moving towards the entrance of the trailer. "Alright, I'll grab that then. What shirt?"
Scott looked at me, and I smiled slightly, knowing he was letting me pick the shirt to make up for almost in hitting me. "The Surf Naked one," I told her, smirking.
"Oh, awesome," she replied, her grin wide. "I'll be back then!"
I looked down to Scott as she left, Scott not breaking eye contact. Rolling my eyes, I leaned down and kissed him. He kissed back, prolonging it as he cupped my cheek. As I pulled away, my smile soft, he said, "So you remember this scene, right?"
"You mean the tampon one?" I asked, grabbing the supplies to finish taking off the fake tattoos. He nodded, and I shrugged. "A little. But I don't remember the exact lines. Why?"
"So, Priestly is buying tampons for the girls restroom in the shop," Scott explained. "And when he gets to the store, and with Tish's help figures out what box to get, he moves to the checkout."
I glanced at his face as he explained, smiling as I met his eyes.
"And when he gets to the checkout, a few of the guys there start laughing at him, for buying tampons," he continued.
"Because most guys think it's stupid," I commented.
"Exactly," he agreed. "So then I get to say this line, monologue actually, and...it made me think of you."
I paused then, looking down at him. "Really?"
He nodded, smiling. "I say, 'You think it's funny that I'm buying tampons? Do you gentlemen, and I use the term loosely, understand what this means? Obviously not. This means that there's a woman with whom I'm so intimate that we're both comfortable with me buying her most personal possessions. This means that my relationship with this lady is so solid, so trusting, that I'm not at all embarrassed doing this. This means, my friends, that instead of hanging out in a grocery store having a dude-a-thon with another guy, I'm getting laid. By a beautiful woman. Every day. And everyone here knows it.'"
My smile grew as he went on, and I slowly moved to sit on his lap, his arms wrapping around my waist. "You say all that?" I asked.
"Yep, and then flip them off as I leave," he said, smiling widely.
I laughed, resting my head on his shoulder. "Anyways, I wanted to tell you because...well, that's how I feel about you. Except, you're a man. So no tampons. But everything else... yeah."
I looked back into his eyes again, smiling as he cupped my cheek again. "I love you, and am comfortable with anything you need," he muttered.
"I love you too," I whispered, before kissing him.
