More Years to Come

I took a slow breath, cuddling into Scott's pillow. I was laying in his trailer, drifting in and out of sleep. Nicole had stayed with me for most of the night, which I was grateful for. But I had woken again a few minutes ago, only to be alone in the trailer.

Being alone, my thoughts moved to the call I had gotten hours ago. A man was dead.

A man that I had only met once, but it was on my first date with Scott. And...I was almost positive that was why Ralph had killed the man. Just because he had been a tiny part of our date.

"Mitch?"

I looked to the door as it opened, smiling slightly as Scott shut it behind him. "Hi," I muttered.

He sat on the bed, cupping my cheek. "How ya feeling?" he asked.

"Tired," I admitted. "How did filming go?"

"Good, we just finished up," he replied. "And I called the officer."

I sighed, closing my eyes. "Oh."

"What happened wasn't your fault, Da Vinci," Scott said softly.

"How can you say that?" I asked, sitting up, looking into his eyes. "Ralph wants me, and will hurt anyone is his way! He killed that man just because we went on a date there!"

"And that's not your fault!" Scott cried, cupping my face entirely. "Ralph is a bastard, Mitch, and that has nothing to do with you! He could have latched onto anyone, and you couldn't have helped that, okay?"

I could feel the tears streaming down my cheeks. "But..."

"No," Scott said softly now, resting his forehead against mine. "There's nothing we could have done."

I sobbed, shaking my head as Scott pulled me into him. "It'll all be okay, Mitchie," he whispered, laying us down on the bed. "I promise."

It took a few days for me to smile again, but Scott distracted me fully when he could. Filming continued, and slowly but surely the entirety of the cast and crew relaxed. No threats came, no break ins occurred, nothing. It almost seemed like...everything went back to normal. As if Ralph had never worked there.

And I forgot about him. I knew Ralph would still be wanting me, until he was caught. But here I was safe. Here, I had friends. Here, I had Scott.

"Little Red!"

I spun, smiling as Kirstie ran towards me. "Ya, K?" I asked.

"What are you getting Scott for his birthday?" She questioned, slightly out of breath.

Laughing softly, I said, "You forgot, didn't you?"

"No, I just...can't think of anything," Kirstin replied, making me laugh.
Shaking my head, I said, "I'm getting him something special."

"Special like what?" Kirstin asked.

"Like none of your business," I replied, poking her shoulder.

Kirstin pouted, but slowly smirked. "It's a super special gift, isn't it?"
Rolling my eyes, I replied, "Get your mind out of the gutter."

"Well it's gonna stay there until you tell me," she replied.

Sighing, I looked around, before leaning closer to Kirstin. "I'm making up for the fact we didn't celebrate Valentine's Day, okay?"

"Oh, smart!" She cried, crying out as I slapped her arm.

"Shut up," I whispered. "I'm still finishing it all up."

"If you need help, let me know," she told me, her eyes growing wide. I could see it in Kirstin's eyes- the memory of Valentine's day running through her mind.

"I will, but you need to worry about your own present for him," I said, backing up to the hair and makeup trailer, pointing at her.

"Dammit!"

I took a deep breath, running my hands over my shirt as I waited. The candles were lit, the food was warm and ready, the drinks cooled, and my present for Scott ready. Today was his actual birthday, and I was so happy and lucky that filming hadn't taken all day. If it had, I would have been frustrated beyond belief.

"Da Vinci?"

I looked up to see Scott moving into the small clearing, smiling as he moved towards me, looking at everything I had laid out. "Happy birthday," I said softly.

He laughed softly, wrapping his arms around me. "All this, for me?" He asked me, resting his forehead against mine.
I nodded, telling him, "I have an actual present for your birthday. The dinner is to make up for us missing Valentine's Day."

Worry lined his face instantly, and he reached up to cup my cheek, "Mitch-"

"I know it's not my fault," I interrupted. "But we still missed it. And I wanted to make up for it."

He sighed softly, before smiling. "I didn't get you anything."

"You didn't have to," I replied, reaching up and touching the necklace he had given me at Christmas.

Scott's smile softened, and he leaned in and kissed me gently, yet full of so much love. "I love you," he whispered, pulling away.

"I love you too," I replied, before pulling him to the table. "Now come on, dinner's getting cold."

I smiled, leaning into Scott as he set his fork down. My original plan was to sit across from each other, but he was not having any of that. So, he had found a comfortable bench, and we ate the dinner while cuddling. It was fairly comfortable, and I didn't mind it really.

Moving my head, I kissed his jaw, muttering, "Time for your present."
He groaned slightly, replying, "Please tell me I don't have to blow out candles again."

Laughing, I shook my head. "No, no song or candles. Just ice cream."

"Oh you know me too well," he muttered, kissing me quickly.

"I try," I replied, moving to pull the present and the cooler towards us. Handing him the gift, my smile grew as he tore of the paper.

"I remember you mentioning it a while back, and I thought it was time for you to learn," I told him.

Scott furrowed his eyebrows, before opening the box, and gasping as he saw throwing knives inside. "You didn't," he muttered, grabbing one.

"I did," I responded, smiling widely.

Setting the box down, he cupped my cheeks and kissed me, prolonging it slightly. "You're amazing," he muttered against my lips.

I blushed, pulling away just enough to look into his eyes. "Happy birthday."
His smile grew, and he leaned down and kissed me again.

"God this feels weird," Scott said on the other line.

I laughed, holding the phone against my ear as I flipped through the script on my lap. "I can imagine."

"Why couldn't you have come too?" he asked, whining almost.

"Because I need to work here," I answered. "I feel bad I couldn't come, trust me. But it's good for you guys, and the show."

Today Avi, Scott, Kirstin, and a few other key members of Supernatural were at the William S. Paley Television Festival. They had a panel, which was fantastic, and Scott was somewhat excited, but more nervous than anything else. I wished I could have come with them, but I did need to work on the makeup and hair plans for the rest of the season. Besides, they would all be back tomorrow.

Scott sighed. "I know that. I just miss you."

Smiling, I replied, "I miss you too. I think we are spoiled though."

"Spoiled how?" he asked.

"We see each other literally every day," I replied. "Most boyfriends don't do that."

Now granted, we didn't spend all our time together. My trailer was clean and fresh again, but most nights I did sleep with Scott in his trailer. Not that he minded all that much.

"Yeah, but I like it," he responded. "Means we're stronger than most couples."

"That is true," I agreed.

"Shit, looks like we're on soon. I'll call you when we're done, okay?"

"Sounds perfect," I replied. "Love you!"

"Love you too, Da Vinci."

I looked up as the door to the makeup and hair trailer burst open. "Styles!" Avi cried, a wide grin on his face.

"Avi!" I cried in return.

"We got renewed for Season 2!" He told me, waving his hands wildly.

I stood then, my jaw slack. "What? Really?"

"Yes! We're working on the season finale script now!"

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed, pulling him into a hug. "I can't believe this!"

He hugged me back, pointing at me when he pulled away though. "You're still our hair and makeup guy, you know that?"

"I better be," I replied, laughing slightly.

I ran my eyes over the party, everyone celebrating the end of Season 1.

Filming was officially over, and we all had the summer off now.

It was hard to believe that all those months ago, I hadn't been sure if I wanted to take Avi's offer. I had liked being a hairdresser, and the thought of a different career had made me more than nervous.

But here I was. A good career ahead of me, friends that would last lifetimes, and a man I loved more than anything.

"Mitch."

I turned, smiling as Scott moved towards me. "Hi," I said, wrapping an arm around him.

"Hi," he repeated, wrapping an arm around me as well. "Can you believe it's over already?"

"Not really," I replied, shaking my head. "But...I think even though this season is over, we still have a long way to go."

Scott smiled widely, nodding. "Yeah, I'd have to agree with you." Holding up his cup, he said, "To many more years to come."

I tapped my cup against his, saying, "And to more memories to make."
