Job Opportunity

Scott moved into the studio, a smile on his face as the director and writer looked up. "Scott, we're glad you could come," the director, David Mackay said.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Scott replied honestly.

"We called you here because we think you would be a perfect fit for Priestly," the writer, Betsy Morris said, smiling widely.

"Really?" Scott asked, his jaw dropping.

The two nodded, smiling. "Yes, and we'd like to officially offer you the role," David said.

"I'd be glad and honored to take it," Scott said, stepping forward and holding out his hand. David and Betsy shook it.

"Well, welcome to the team," Betsy responded. "We do have your script for you today, but it'll be at least two weeks before we start filming."

A thought popped into Scott's head then, and he couldn't help but ask, "I'm just wondering, do you have anyone for the hair or makeup department yet?"

The two exchanged a look, before looking back to him. "Once the cast is filled, that's who we're hiring next,"
David told him. "Why?"

"My boyfriend, Mitchell Grassi, is the head of makeup and hair on the set of Supernatural," Scott told them. "I know us being in a relationship is a flag for most directors, but he's amazing, and I just know he would love to work on this movie. If you would give him the opportunity."

Betsy glanced at David, before smiling, looking back to the actor. "We are looking for members for both teams, so...have him read the script as well, and then have him sketch what makeup and hair he would do for your character, Priestly, for any three scenes of the movie."

David nodded slowly, smiling. "Have him email us the pictures, and we will gladly put him into consideration for both teams," he continued.

Scott's smile was starting to hurt his face."How soon do you want the pictures?"

"As soon as possible would be preferred," David said, folding his hands.

"You have them as soon as he is done," Scott said, nodding. "Thank you, so much for choosing me, and for taking Mitchell into consideration."

"You are more than welcome, Scott," Betsy said, smiling. "Welcome to the team."

Nodding, Scott moved out of the studio, punching the air as he left. "Yes!"

Reaching for his phone, he unlocked it, smiling as he saw a picture of him and Mitch from Hawaii as his wallpaper. Dialing his number 2 speed dial, he bounced on his feet, waiting for his boyfriend to answer.

The phone didn't even ring twice before he answered it, automatically asking, "So?!"

"I got it!" Scott cried, moving towards his car.

"Yes! Oh my gosh, Scott, that's great!" He cried, squealing.

"And I have even better news," he told him.

"How could anything be better?" Mitch responded.

"The director and writer want you to come up with three sketches for any three scenes for my character, Priestly, designing his hair and makeup," Scott told him. "If they like the sketches, they're gonna put you on either the hair or makeup team!"

"Scott! You did not do that just for me!"

"I did," he replied, smiling widely. "Because I love you, and I already know this is going to be a blast. And I want you to be a part of this with me."

"Oh, I love you too," Mitch replied softly. "I just...how did you do it?"

"I just mentioned that you are the head of the hair and makeup department on Supernatural, and it totally impressed them," he told him. "Listen, I know it's nerve-wracking because you don't know anybody like you know Avi. But you're so amazing, and they would be complete idiots not to hire you, okay?"

Mitch sighed. "Okay. I can do this. But if they don't pick me, you're still going to do the movie, okay?"

"We don't even have to think about it," Scott said. "Because they are going to hire you. There is no doubt in my mind."

Mitch laughed softly, making the almost everlasting butterflies in Scott's stomach flutter. It was almost weird, but Scott still felt butterflies when he laughed. It was something Scott had never experienced for this long, and he wanted it to never end.

"Well, how about you pick up some food to celebrate, and then come home," He said.

"What do you want?" Scott asked, unlocking the car.

"Scooter, you're the one who got the role. You pick, okay?"

Scott groaned dramatically, making him laugh more. "Fine, something I want for dinner then. But I'm getting your favorite ice cream!"

"Scott, don't you-"

"Love you! See you soon!" Scott cried, before ending the call.

"So you might be working on a movie set then?" Spencer asked on the line.

"Yeah, Scott's really excited," I replied. "And if I get on one of the teams, it should be an amazing experience."

"I'm sure you will," Spencer responded.
Laughing softly, I said, "Thanks, Spenc."

Dr. Spencer Reid and I had gotten a chance to talk at the surprise party the week before. He was extremely smart, and still a good man. So, after getting to know each other than night, we exchanged phone numbers and talked every once in awhile. He was a great friend, and both Spencer and I knew it would never go anywhere but friendship. I loved Scott, with all my heart, and Spencer knew that and had told me he would never ruin that for me.

"When is Scott getting back?" Spencer asked then.

"Soon, he's just grocery shopping," I replied. "He's trying not to get too nervous watching me sketch."

"You're working on one of the sketches now?"

"Yeah actually, the last one," I answered. "The script is just amazing, and just the idea of sketching Scott's character made me excited. I would send them to you, but if I get hired then-"

"Then it's an issue with copyrights and leakage," Spencer interrupted. "I completely understand. I would love to see some of your other drawings someday, though."

"I'll have to email you some," I told him.

"Oh, sorry, looks like we've got a case, Mitch. I've got to go."

"Stay safe, catch the bad guy!" I cried, before ending the call.

As I set my phone down, I picked up a green colored pencil, adding color to the mohawk of the sketch. I didn't lie, I really was excited about Scott's character. I knew without a doubt he would excel at this role, and I hoped that I would be there to watch him act it.

"Mitchie! I'm back!" Scott cried.

My smile grew on its own. I darted off the bed and down the hall, kissing my boyfriend as soon as I got to him. "Hi," I said, before taking some of the bags.

"What's got you so happy?" Scott asked.

"Just finished talking with Spencer," I replied. "And I'm almost done with the sketches for Priestly."

"Oh, awesome!" Scott cried, both of us moving fluidly around each other in the kitchen. "Do I get to see?"

"I would love to, but if I get chosen, where's the fun in you knowing?" I replied, smirking.

"Oh, alright, I'll give you that," he said, chuckling. "Kirstin called me while I was shopping."

"Yeah? How is she?" I asked, wondering about our friend so far away.

"She's great, just wanted to see how I was doing. She asked about you, of course."

"Of course she did," I replied, laughing. "So, leftovers for dinner?"

"And I got cake for dessert," Scott told me, kissing my jaw as he passed.
"Oh, chocolate?"

"White cake with chocolate frosting," he replied.

I beamed, wrapping my arms around him as he stopped moving. "I love you," I stated.

"I love you too," he replied, before leaning down and kissing me.

I cuddled into Scott, my eyes on the TV as my boyfriend reread the script for the fourth time. I had emailed my sketches to the director and writer two days ago and had been relaxing ever since.

Most days were like this, really. Scott and I just enjoyed each other's presence, even if neither of us spoke for hours. Sometimes Scott would be the one watching TV, I reading. Other times, like today, it was the opposite.
Closing my eyes as commercials come on, I was just getting relaxed when my phone rang.

Shooting up, I answered the call, turning to meet Scott's attentive eyes on me. "Hello, this is Mitchell," I said.

"Mitchell, hi, this is David, the director of Ten Inch Hero," a male voice said on the line.

"Oh, hello there!" I cried, running my hands through my hair. "What can I do for you?"

"I wanted to call you about our decision," he said. I held my breath as he continued. "We'd like to make you a special proposition."

"Special?" I echoed.

"We absolutely loved your designs for Priestly, more than any of the other designs," he informed me. "And we have no doubt that you have skill in both departments. So, our offer, for the same amount of pay, is that you run the makeup team, but be Scott's specialist."

I could slowly feel a smile grow on my face, my eyes staying locked with Scott's.

"Anything to do with Priestly, you would take care of," David continued. "You'd even have input on the costume design for him. But, while doing that you would run makeup for all the other cast members."

I nodded as Scott stood, my smile starting to hurt. "David, I would love that."

"You would?" he asked.

"Yes, I really would," I replied, practically bouncing up and down. "If you all agreed to let me do this, I accept. Wholeheartedly."

"Well then, Mitchell, welcome to the team!" He said.

"Thank you!" I cried, beaming at Scott, who had a smile on his lips.

"We're having a crew meeting soon," David informed me then. "I will email you all the specifics once I have them."

"Sounds perfect," I replied. "Thank you again."

"Thank you for giving us your talent," David replied, before ending the call.

Pulling my phone away from my cheek, Scott asked, "So?!"

"You're looking at the head of the makeup department, and the Priestly specialist!" I cried.

In an instant, Scott's arms were wrapped around me, spinning me around. "Yes!"
