"What is this place?" (Y/N) asked .

"This is where I live," Loki said hiding a little.

"Did you make all these things yourself?"

"Most of them."

"This is beautiful. If I could do this, you wouldn't find me dancing in the streets for coins."

"But you're a wonderful dancer."

And that was the truth. Loki has seen her dance from the tower and he thought it was amazing. And after his up close look at the festival today, his mind hasn't changed.

"Well, it keeps bread on the table, anyway," (Y/N) said before noticing a cloth covering something, "what's this?"

"Oh, no, please oh, I'm not finished! I still have to paint them..." Loki tried to stop her but it was too late.

"The blacksmith, and the baker. You're a surprising person, Loki. Not to mention lucky. All this room to yourself."

"Well, it's not just me. There's the gargoyles, and of course the bells. Would you like to see them?"

"Yes, of course. Wouldn't we, Maddie?"

"Huh? Oh! Yes!" Maddie said smiling.

Maddie was too focused on her sister making a new friend. Honestly, she was also imagining the two together as a couple.

"Follow me. I'll introduce you," Loki said smiling.

Loki climbed up the scaffolding while (Y/N) and Maddie took a ladder up.

"Never knew there were so many," Maddie said.

Loki started naming all the bells around him as the sisters looked around in amazement.

"And who's this?" (Y/N) asked looking at one of the big bells.

"Big Marie," Loki said smiling.

Going under Big Marie, (Y/N) shouts a 'Hello!', which echoes and resonates richly.

"She likes you," Loki said smiling, "Would you like to see more?"

"How 'bout it, Maddie?" (Y/N) asked Maddie.

"I'd love to," Maddie said smiling.

"Good. I've saved the best for last!" Loki said smiling.

Loki and the sisters proceed outside to a beautiful view of Paris and the Seine. Although Maddie stayed near the door to let her older sister spend some time with Loki. She hasn't seen her this happy with anyone in years.

"I bet the king himself doesn't have a view like this!" (Y/N) said smiling, "I could stay up here forever."

"You could, you know," Loki said smiling.

"No, I couldn't."

"Oh, yes, you have sanctuary!"

"But not freedom. Gypsies don't do well inside stone walls."

"But you're not like other gypsies. They're...evil."

"Who told you that?"

"My master, Thanos. He raised me."

"How could such a cruel man have raised someone like you?" (Y/N) asked sitting with Loki on the roof.

"Cruel?!? Oh, no. He saved my life. He took me in when no one else would. I am a monster, you know."

"He told you that?"

"Look at me," Loki made his face turn into his Jotun form for a moment before letting it fade away.

"Give me your hand," She takes his hand and looks at his palm.

"Why?"

"Just let me see," (Y/N) traced his palm lines with her finger, "hmm, a long life line...oh, and this one means you're shy. Hmm. Hmm, hmm, hmm...well, that's funny..."

"What!"

"I don't see any."

"Any what?"

"Monster lines," (Y/N) looked at Loki, "Not a single one. Now you look at me. Do you think I'm evil?"

"No, no, no! You are kind, and good, and-"

"And a gypsy," (Y/N) interrupted, "and maybe Thanos is wrong about the both of us."

Below, Tony, Nat and Steve are straining to listen in.

"What did she say?!?" Tony asked.

"Thanos' nose is long, and he wears a truss," Steve said.

"Hah! Told ya!" Tony said to Nat, "Pay up!"

Nat hands him a gold coin. Back to the rooftop.

"You helped me. Now I will help you," Loki said.

"But there's no way out. There's soldiers at every door," (Y/N) said.

"We won't use a door."

"You mean...climb down?"

"Sure. You carry her," Loki motions to Maddie, "I carry you."

(Y/N) held Maddie while Loki held (Y/N) bridle style. He climbed to the edge of the Cathedral and hung onto one of the gargoyle heads. Loki moved the sisters so they were on his back and start jumping, swinging and climbing down. They jumped on a roof tile which gave way under them and made them slide off the roof. But Loki helpd onto another Gargoyle head and the tile flew away, distracting the guards below them. Loki continued his decent until all three reached the bottom.

"I hope I didn't scare you," Loki said.

"Not for an instant," (Y/N) said smiling.

"I'll never forget you, (Y/N)."

"Come with us."

"What?!"

"To the Court of Miracles. Leave this place."

"Oh, no. I'm never going back out there again. You saw what happened to me today. No. This is where I belong."

"All right, then I'll come to see you."

"What? Here? But, the soldiers, and Thanos, and..."

"I'll come after sunset."

"At sunset, I ring the evening mass, and after that, I clean the kooisters, and then I ring the vespers, and-," (Y/N) gave Loki a little peck on the cheek, "-Whatever's good for you."

Maddie pulls a talisman off her neck and hands it to Loki.

"If you ever need sanctuary, this will show you the way," Maddie told him

"But how?" Loki asked.

"Just remember: When you wear this woven band, you hold the city in your hand," (Y/N) said.

Loki put it on and hid it under his shirt. Maddie pointed to more guards returning. Loki urged them to go. And they did, running away to the court of Miracles. Loki climbs back up to his tower. As soon as he reaches the ledge, Thor is there.

"Hi there. I'm looking for the gypsy girls. Have you seen them?" Thor asked.

Loki became angry at the sight of Thor thinking he was a guard. He takes a torch, turned into his Jotun form to try scare him and swung the torch at him telling Thor to leave. Thor backs off, but Loki continues to swing. Backed down the stairs, Thor finally draws his sword and swings, pinning the torch against the wall. Loki has grabbed Thor by the chest.

"You tell Maddie from me, I didn't mean to trap her here, but it was the only way to save her and her sisters life. Will you tell her that?" Loki didn't answer, "Will you?"

"If you go. Now!" Loki said.

"I'll go. Now, will you put me down, please?"

Loki had been holding Thor several feet off the floor with strength he didn't know he had. Loki sets Thor down. He starts to leave, then turns to say something.

"Oh. And one more thing. Tell Maddie she's very lucky," Thor said.

"Why?" Loki asked.

"To have a friend like you."

Thor left. Loki returned to his room and the gargoyles cheer for him.

"You ejected that tin-plated baboon with great panache!" Nat said smiling.

"The nerve of him! Snooping around here trying to steal your girl," Tony said.

"My girl?" Loki asked.

"(Y/N). (H/C) hair, works with her younger sister. Remember?" Steve asked.

"Boy, I do! Way to go, loverboy!" Tony said smiling.

"Loverboy!?! Oh, no, no..." Loki said.

"Oh, don't be so modest," Steve said.

"Look. I appreciate what you're all trying to do, but let's not fool ourselves. Ugliest face in all Paris, remember? I don't think I'm her type."

Loki thought while looking at some lover walk across a nearby bridge. What if he was her type? Although he denied that thought.

'So many times out there I've watched a happy pair of lovers walking in the night. They had a kind of glow around them. It almost looked like Heaven's light. I knew I'd never know that warm and loving glow though I might wish with all my might. No face as hideous as my face was ever meant for Heaven's light. But suddenly an angel has smiled at me and kissed my cheek without a trace of fright. I dare to dream that she might even care for me and as I ring the bells tonight, my cold dark tower seems so bright. I swear it must be Heaven's Light.'

As Loki rings the bells, you can see a group of monks in the ground level of the cathedral. Over at the Palace  of Justice you can see isolated lights going out occasionally except for one in Thanos' bedchambers. He looks out to the Cathedral.

'Beata Maria. You know I am a righteous man of my virtue I am justly proud,' Thanos walked back inside, 'Beata Maria. You know I'm so much purer than the common, vulgar, weak, licentious crowd.'

'Then tell me, Maria why I see her dancing there, why her smoldering eyes still scorch my soul. I feel her, I see her,' in the fire, (Y/N) is seen dancing like the flames, 'The sun caught in her (H/C) hair is blazing in me out of all control!'

'Like fire! Hellfire! This fire in my skin,' He took out the scarf that she gave him and caressed his face with it, 'This burning desire is turning me to sin.'

The walls of the room and the flames suddenly become a row of judges, all dressed in red robes. Thanos is terrified.

'It's not my fault!'

'Mea culpa.'

'I'm not to blame.'

'Mea culpa.'

'It is the gypsy girl. The witch who sent this flame!'

'Mea maxima culpa.'

'It's not my fault!'

'Mea culpa.'

'If in God's plan.'

'Mea culpa!'

'He made the devil so much stronger than a man! Protect me, Maria! Don't let this siren cast her spell! Don't let her fire sear my flesh and bone!'

'Destroy (Y/N) and let her taste the fires of hell or else let her be mine and mine alone,' (Y/N) appeared in front of him as a smoke figure.

She disappeared and the room went back to normal when there was a knock on the door.

"Mistress Thanos, the Gypsies have escaped!" A guard told him.

"What?!" Thanos asked.

"They're nowhere in Cathedral. They're gone."

"But how?! I-? Never mind! Get out, you idiot!" The guard left, "I'll find her. I'll find her if I have to burn down all of Paris!"

'Hellfire! Dark fire! Now gypsy, it's your turn. Choose me or your pyre. Be mine or you will burn!' Thanos threw the scarf in the fire, burning it.

'God have mercy on her.'

'Kyrie Eleison.'

'God have mercy on me.'

'Kyrie Eleison'

'But she will be mine or she will burn!'

And with that, he collapsed on the stone floor. The fire, dead.
