Chapter XII (Flashback)

"When life gives you lemons, make orange juice and have the world wondering." -Anonymous (A good friend of mine)
*************************************
POV: Aria Whitacre, Trash Girl, suicidal 12-year-old
Why did I have to move again? I've already been to three schools in two different states; I don't need anymore! I tried convincing my mum to let me and Dylan stay at Indigo Elementary, but, of course, she said no. She and her boyfriend aren't even married! Why are we moving in with him?!

I quietly stepped into my new 5th grade classroom to see everyone staring at me. I could feel my face burn bright red from embarrassment. I found a vacant chair and quickly sat down. Then, class started. The teacher assigned a Back-To-School project. It seemed simple: colour, cut, paste.
I finished before everyone else and decided to be nice. These strangers are my classmates after all! I picked up a trash can and brought it to a table.
"Trash, please~!!!" I smiled and tried to be happy in this foreign place called White Elementary. A blond guy started to smirk mischievously and chunked a wad of scraps at my face.
All of a sudden, a whirlwind of white scraps swirled around me, and it was unstoppable. "Trash Girl, Trash Girl". Panic seeped into me and I dropped the can. When the storm blew past, I told the teacher why happened.
"Oh, sweetie, they wouldn't do that to you."
I felt worthless. Maybe I am trash, a useless thing to be thrown away...
Then, like the light of a lighthouse, I saw something: rather, someone. He was taller than the class and the teacher. You could see galaxies in his soft, brown eyes that, at the time, were filled with pity. He walked toward me and introduced himself in front of the entire class, even though a couple of pieces of paper were still flying.
"Hi, I'm Louis, but you can call me Louie."

That was a year ago. Now is when the real bullying will happen, I thought to myself as I stepped into the 6th grade school. This was where all four elementary schools mixed into one: Empty Road "Middle School". All the kids were in the gym as they waited for classes to begin. The girls were on the furthest side, so I made my way over. I sat down, not knowing I was in the middle of the Populars. A brown-headed girl stared at me, while a tanned girl with black hair rolled her eyes.
"Um, you don't belong here. You're down there." She pointed to a corner where a cart of various balls and the wall met, away from everyone. I started to say something, but knew I'd regret it.

Day three of 6th grade Hell. I went to my corner and curled up into a ball. I was trying not to cry, but because Eve, the tanned girl, was in most of my classes, it was hard to hold back. Before I could start, a heard an energetic voice.
"Hi! I'm Raelyn, but call me Rae! What's your name?" Her head was tilted to further show her curiosity. I slowly turned to look at her. She had freckles and reddish-brown hair. I thought it was a prank. Nonetheless, I told her my name.
"Ar...Aria."

"...and this is the Hetalia group, also known as the Geeks and Nerds! This is a group where we fit in!" Rae showed all of her friends in this group and I was enveloped in hugs from strangers. They introduced themselves all at the same time, so it was hard to hear. Despite the noise and how loud everyone was, I knew something at that moment.
'This is my home.'
