Chapter VIII
"Love is like a virus. It can happen to anybody at any time." -Maya Angelou

POV: Aria, Duchess of Uniqueness
I covered her mouth and got on to her about swearing in front of children.
We got out of the jam-packed airport and found a rental bus (somehow). This time, I was the driver. As soon as I sat down, a flashback to when Louie dropped us off played. I shook it out o my head. He was there, I was here, and this is now.
Ms. Cynthia, Corrie's late half sister's mum, was able to get us rooms at an awesome hotel. I thought to myself, 'Seriously, how did she have so many relatives in so many places?' No matter how that was, we had a place to sleep. We all got in and situated, and found who we were sharing a room with. I was partnered up with Amelia! Sweet!! Amelia started bobbing up and down when she found out.
"OMG, sis!!!!!" That was her nickname for me. People always thought we were sisters, so we just went along with it.
Of course, we were on the top floor. With a glass elevator. I froze.
"I'm...uh...I'm going to take the stairs." I started walking toward them, when Amelia pulled me back. She reassured me everything would be okay.
I am never using the elevator again.
I watched as we rose and felt my stomach drop. The poor people that got on as Amelia and I got off probably thought I was insane for holding on to the rails for dear life.
Amelia opened the door, and we ran in. It was amazing. We were on the top floor, which meant we could see over the entire city. We stood there, staring for what felt like hours, when there was a knock on the door.
"Amelia!!! I need you for something!!!" It was Alexis.
"Coming, my dear!!!" And with that, Amelia bolted out the door.
My phone was ringing. Without looking at the number, I answered it, then flopped onto my bed.
"Hello, this is Aria Whitacre, how may I help you?
"Is that really how you answer the phone?" I almost dropped my phone. It was Louie.
"No, not normally..."
"Anyway, are you okay? I called 15 times today, but you didn't pick up." 15 times? I took the phone from my ear, and sure enough, 'Louie, 15 missed calls'.
"I am so sorry. Today has been hectic and stressful and right before we had to leave the FreaksOfInsanity decided to eat at McDonalds and we almost missed the plane and I had to drive the bus here and people probably thought I was drunk and I'm sharing a room with Amelia and it's crazy beautiful, but crazy scary since there's a glass elevator and we're on the top floor, and..." I rambled on and on while staring at the ceiling.
"And without realising I thought about you the entire time and-" I paused.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't mean to say that, I'm so sorry and tired. Yeah, that's probably why I said it; it's because I'm tired as crap." I continued to speak fast, when his words stopped me.
"Arianna Blanco Whitacre, I love you."
My face was on fire. After that, I was just a blubbering idiot. Once again, he caught me off guard. Then, I raised my left arm to look at my watch. It was still set on Dallas time. 9:47.
"You should probably go to bed, Louie."
"You're talking. Where you are, it's...", he paused, "10:47."
"Oh. Right."
"Goodnight, Aria."
"Goodnight." I hung up. Then, everyone busted in.
"Ari and Louie, sitting in a tree. K I S S I N G~!!! By the way, thanks for having your phone on speaker phone~", Corrie sang. I paused. Sure enough, it was on speaker phone. I couldn't tell, since I'm practically deaf.
"...I hate you guys.", I said, playfully.
"Love you too~"
