Chapter VI
"Friends are helpful not because they will listen to us, but because they will laugh at us. Through them, we learn a little objectivity, a little modesty, a little courtesy; we learn the rules of life and become better players of the game." -Will Durant

POV: Alexis, Duchess Of Crazyton
I hate it when Ari lies about being happy. I don't know how the others don't see through her glass heart, but I do. I walked up to her and asked her if I could speak with her in private. She looked confused, but nodded.
"Alright, keep going down the hall and stop when you see Gate E29, okay?", she said, politely. The FreaksOfInsanity continued to walk toward our gate.
"Arianna Blanco, what is wrong? Don't think that I can't see through you.", I said, seriously.
"Nothing!! I'm perfectly fine!!!"
"No, you're not. I'm not leaving until you tell me what's wrong with you." I was stern when I need to be. She hung her head and sighed.
"God, I'm awful. I'm sorry I'm worrying you. The truth is, I have mixed emotions about everything. Louie can't go, and everyone forgot about me this morning and shoved me out of the way to eat the breakfast I made. Am I doing something wrong, Alexis? Am I not good enough? Am I so bad at doing something right that everyone tries to forget I even exist?! What's wrong with me?!?!" Her stress and depression; they're what always hurt her. I pulled her in for a hug, and for the first time, she bawled.
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry." That all she said in between sobs.
"You didn't do anything wrong, promise. You've been awesome to us; I couldn't thank you enough~" I rubbed her back. People were staring at her; I flipped them off. After a couple of minutes, she started to calm down. She sniffled occasionally, but for the most part, she was calm.
"I'm so sorry about that..." Her voice drifted off.
"Don't be.", I said, seriously. I meant it.
"Let's go back to the FreaksOfInsanity, shall we? I really hope they didn't get lost."
Of course they did. We got to our gate, and they were gone. Ari thought the plane had taken off without us, but that wasn't possible. The plane wouldn't leave for another 30 minutes. Then, I saw them. At McDonald's. Buying random crap they didn't need.
I screamed, "Guys, get your butts over here!!!!!!!"
"Am I rubbing off on you?", Ari asked, jokingly. I have my answer in the form of making a raspberry noise.
"I guess not."
An announcement came over the intercom for us to board the plane. Everyone at McDonald's ran over to board the plane. When everyone except for me and Ari got on, I tipped an imaginary fedora and said, "M'lady." She laughed and said "Thank you" before getting on. With that, we had officially started our three-month trip around the world.
