Chapter V

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." -Lao Tzu

POV: Aria, the Duchess of Uniqueness
I finally got up when Corrie walked back up the stairs.
"What are you waiting for?", she asked.
I plastered a fake smile on my face.
"Nothing! I just wanted to let everyone else go first!", I lied through my teeth.
She didn't seem to believe me at first, but let it slide and went back downstairs. Then, I heard arguing. Loud arguing. I raced downstairs to find everyone fighting over the last pancake. My face fell.
"Um...how many pancakes did you guys have?"
Some had one, while others had seven.
"Everyone was supposed to get three...including myself..."
Everyone froze and my thoughts had become a reality; I had been forgotten. Again. I sighed and tried to fake a smile again.
"It's okay, guys. I should have made more." It hurt to lie, but it hurts more to make someone feel guilty.
"Louie will be here in 30 minutes with the rental bus. Please be on time this time." With that, everyone raced up the stairs to finish their last-minute packing. I looked at my "breakfast" and became grateful that they had left it. I took it and devoured it, before heading upstairs to grab my suitcase and wait for Louie, the most amazing boyfriend anyone could possibly have.

We were there. The airport was already loud, and we hadn't even gotten off the bus!!!
"Final stop: pollution institution!", Louie called out, which received a mixture of laughs and groans. I was the last one to get off.
"How'd you even get a bus?!", I exclaimed. His face blossomed into a smile.
     "Because I'm that awesome."
"Oi...anyway, you do know that you can come with us...right?", I asked, even though I had said that same sentence over a billion times before. The answer was always the same.
"Aria, I can't. Unlike you, YouTube isn't my career. People still need to have their cars fixed, and whose suppose to do that if I'm gone?"
"Right..." My heart sank into my diaphragm. I looked down at my feet as I tried to hold my tears back. He unbuckled the seat belt and wrapped his large arms around my small form. It felt like hours had gone by, when, finally I said, "I'll see you in three months." As I was stepping off the bus, he said something that grabbed me.
     "Te amo."
I turned around to look him in the eye.
"Je t'aime, m-mon cheri~", I stuttered, and with that, I walked into the building. Everyone was waiting for me, since they didn't know where to go. Then, Alexis spoke up.
     "So...he's not coming?"
     "Nope."
     "Because of work?"
"Yep." My heart was tearing more and more, but I knew how to stitch it back together. I straightened my back, pulled my friendly demeanour, and said confidentially, "This way, everyone!"
