Chapter IX

POV: Aria, Duchess of Uniqueness
Somehow, I was able to get more than four hours of sleep. But, of course, my slumber came to a crashing end with loud banging on the room door.
"Wake up!!! We have crap to do before tomorrow!!!" It was Corrie, the Official Guide of New York. Amelia groaned, but I shot up to get ready. I had forgotten something really important, something that makes Aria different form the Duchess of Uniqueness.
My costume and Kool-Aid.
As weird as it is, it helps protect who I am. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been so worried about it. I threw on jeans and a t-shirt, tied up my Converse, put my hair up in the classic high ponytail, grabbed my phone, and ran out the door. Amelia followed out later. To our surprise (not me), Corrie had a list of things to do, which consisted of:
•Going to the small pizza place
•Laser Tag
•Visit the Statue of Liberty
•Ride different ferries
•Have a picnic in Central Park
•Visit the United Nations Headquarters (just for me!!!)
I told her about my costume situation, and she stared at me.
"Since when were you the one who leaves stuff behind?", she said, flabbergasted.
Nonetheless, she added to her list, "Go to Plato's Closet". She then smiled evilly. Amelia was confused, but I knew what wanted me to do. She wanted to see me in a dress.
Normally, I wear a yellow T-shirt and blue jeans with my sprinkles necklace. I also usually have my Kool-Aid-dyed light blue hair in a side braid.
"You needed something nice, anyway...." Corrie's voice drifted off under her breath.
"What?" I hadn't fully heard what she said. This was followed by the normal "Nothing~!" I groaned at the thought of dressing up. I had always been in a tee, but oh well!
"You, me, and Ari are going to Plato's closet very soon. That'll be the first thing we do, alright?", Corrie said, looking at Sis.
"Okay!!! What about Alexis?", Amelia said, her head cocked to the side. Corrie froze.
"Um, she's probably busy doing something. Let's go!!! Besides, it's always the four of us. Maybe it should be us three for this!" I could tell she was lying, but I'd ask her about it later. 'But right now', I thought to myself, 'my people need me.' My people...it hit me.
We haven't vlogged yet.
I told the others and we got ready for it (which means dying our hair with Kool-Aid or using hair chalk). After that fiasco, I hit the record button on my phone.
"Hey guys! It's Aria, and today, we're doing our NYC vlog!!!", I said with such enthusiasm that the people next to us heard me.
"So, me being the idiot that I am, I left my yellow T-shirt at home and didn't bring anything nice for tomorrow. And so, Corrie wants to take me and Amelia to Plato's Closet. I'm a little scared." I glanced over my shoulder with one side of my mouth curled. Corrie's face decided to freak me out by having a creepy grin and wide eyes. I quickly looked back at the camera and let out a small "meep".
Amelia jumped up stating that, "Ari's going to wear a dress!", dragging out 'dress' and twirling around the room. I corrected her with a glare and a "Not necessarily." I paused.
"So, yeah! We'll see you guys when we get into a taxi! I've never been in one, so that'll be fun! Yay!" I stopped recording, and with that, we made our way to Corrie's fashion heaven.
