Chapter III

"Whoever said that loss gets easier with time was a liar. Here's what really happens: The spaces between the times you miss them grow longer. Then, when you remember to miss them again, it's still with a stabbing pain to the heart. And you have guilt. Guilt, because it's been too long since you missed them last." -Kristen O'Donnell Tubb

POV: Aria, Duchess of Uniqueness
"Question!!!", Amelia shouted as I handed out tickets. "Where are we staying?!"
"I have a LOT of family members across the world.", Corrie confidently replied. It was true. It seemed as though she had at least ONE family member in each country.
"Pack your bags; our plane for New York City leaves at 10:30. Please be up by 6:30", I smiled. Everyone else groaned, proving that they aren't exactly early birds. "I will provide coffee and breakfast", I said to the somewhat somber crowd, but they cheered up at the thought of a warm mocha. As everyone was leaving to pack their bags, Corrie walked toward me with a leap in her walk.
"I'm SUPER excited to go to New York first!!! We can go to this Plato's closet and go shopping, and the guys could go this other awesome place right around the corner!!!", she said really fast and excitedly. Then, her face fell as she paused. She got a glimmer in her eye that I have memorized the meaning of for years. "And then we can all go to this amazing pizza place down the road..." Her voice trailed off. I normally don't like hugs, but I pulled her into a warm embrace.
POV: Corrie, Queen of Freaks
My eyes welled as Aria pulled me into a tight hug, but I wouldn't cry. I haven't cried since the day Is passed on, and I probably never will. That small-business pizza place was a place I built memories with her in...and I would never let that go...
Aria let go of me and grabbed my shoulders.
"We don't have time to be sad", she said with a grin and an awful New Yorker accent. "We have some delicious pizza to eat in New York." She flashed her famous smile. I smiled back, knowing she would most likely make some brownies.
I started walking up the stairs to my room, when I turned back around.
"You already packed your bags, didn't you?", I asked Aria. A cheeky grin creeped up onto her face.
"Maybe..."
"Of course you did", I replied jokingly, as I walked upstairs to pack my bags.
