Against the Council's wishes, Devin had told their parents about the whole "fourth wall" thing. It wasn't ideal, but it sure beat having to come up with excuses all the time. Their parents, naturally, were confused, but supportive. After all, Devin was their child, and they were determined to be good parents.
And hey, the pay was decent.

(Welcome to the descent into madnessz where the crackfic part is beginning to show.)

Devin checked their phone for the hundredth time that day.
Nothing new.
It was a lazy Saturday afternoon, and they were just dying of boredom. They were lying on their bed, gazing at the empty white ceiling tiles, wondering how was it possible there were no tasks for them. After all, there were many fourth wall breaks. The empty silence was beginning to give them a small headache.
Just then, a new notification popped up. It was if it had come from the magical land of plot convenience. And surprise surprise, it was from the official fourth wall rebuilders' Discord server. That's right, a discord. How did you think they communicated, by mail?
Anyway.
Devin almost squealed with sheer excitement. Another mission? Finally. They were just aching for something new. Skimming through the information, they groaned.
"Wattpad? Again?" They checked the name, then the user. Hadn't they been there before?
Yep.
Eh. Better than nothing, they supposed.
Flipping up their hoodie to hide their face, Devin set off to deal with the offender.
And then there they were, standing at the familiar door of a hotel room. This time, they just kicked open the door without so much as an "OPEN UP, ASSHOLE"
(You all know where this is going.)
Huh? Devin thought they heard something. Brushing it off, they leaned on the doorframe, raising an eyebrow at the sole occupant of the room.
Yep. There he was, grinning all over his stupid face. Deadpool. He wasn't even surprised at this point; Devin intruding was a regular occurrence by that point. He just shrugged.
Without hesitation, Devin walked up and slapped him, hard. "Stop breaking the damn wall! You know how annoying that is?" Then they turned around and left, jumping to touch the wall of the doorframe on the way out.
(They were too short. The jump didn't make it.)
And that was their job. Of course, the methods could vary from story to story, depending on many various details. Is the character supposed to know about the wall? Is it a plot twist? And all that. Sometimes it was as simple as a "don't do that", or complex as giving a character therapy and convincing them the fourth wall isn't real.

Standing back in their bedroom, Devin crashed back into bed. Damn, that guy was annoying.
(A/n: I'm not dead. The fic isn't either.
Explanation for the transportation thing: plot convenience, the rebuilder guys have set up some sort of teleporter thing to go places. saves a lot of writing and filler crap. You get the idea.
So basically they go into the fictional worlds, interact with the characters and play it off like the break never happened.)
