Rum

The twenty-five year old babysitter, closed the door as the owner of the house left her five year old with her. Making the little one a sandwich, she placed the plate in front of him on the table.

The child, Austin didn't raise his eyes to look at the lady's face. He chewed his food, while playing with his food, particularly with the cheese slice inside it.

"Don't play with your food," Samantha said coming near him to place the glass of juice in front of him. Austin reacted to it thinking he was going to get hit from her.

"Austin, why are you scared?" Samantha asked to which Austin shook his head.

"Go to your room after this," she commanded making Austin nod at her, still his eyes to the ground.

Climbing the stairs up, the lad started feeling dizzy. But with the little strength he had, he pulled himself up the stairs and went straight to bed.  Landing on his stomach, he he slept as soon as he hit the bed.

"Are you sure? Kayla, this seems pretty normal," Love said as she shifted her eyes between the two windows, one with the child and other with the babysitter.

"My sources aren't to be doubted." She stated.

Nodding at that she connected the dots.

"This is why you came last night, to seek my help," Love said.

"I don't understand" Kayla said keeping her eyes at the child from the little room on the opposite side of the road they had rented.

"You didn't come to save 'my sweet little....uhm.. I mean not so little ass'," she said giving a little thought to her ass.

"Not really," she said looking through the binocular.

"Asswipe," Love said.

"Hole," Kayla said still focus on the child. "Come on, it's time" she said.

"Lead the way," Love said.

Samantha entered Austin's room as, and looking at him sleep she closed the door behind her, though the two were alone in the house. She strode towards Austin, thought the room was small in size. Lying next to him, Samantha looked at the tiny figure, and as she was deep in her thoughts, the door struck open in a bang, revealing two slender figures dressed one dressed in black and the other in white, with long gorgeous straight and wavy hair.

"Step back from him," Kayla said raising her gun at her.

"I'm calling 911," Samantha said.

"Sure, go ahead, they need to see this," Love said raising the images in her hand, which had all the dirty the babysitter had done with the babies she had been taking care of for the past two years.

"Who are you?" She asked eyeing the two of them, raising from the bed. And as Kayla walked towards the child, Samantha ran towards the door, pushing Love aside, making her fall to the ground.

"What the hell?" Kayla said looking at Love fall after a human pushed her.

Love removed the hair stands from her face as she sat on the ground, on her hips, folding her legs to her stomach, leaning on her right elbow which touched the ground.

They heard Samantha scream from down the stairs, listening to which Love smiled widely at Kayla.

"A trap, seriously?" She asked.

"What? It's fun" she said giggling earning an eyeroll from Kayla.

Kayla kept her hand on the child's forehead, trying to get him conscious. As the child starting moving slowly now, Kayla moved towards the door.

"I'll deal with her, you stay with him," Kayla ordered.

"Kayla, I suck at this," Love said pointing at the whole child situation.

" You shouldn't have made the trap then. And Thank God, that it's me not Abby." She said before rushing down the stairs.

"Who are you?" Love heard the sweet voice behind her, turning her head toward him, drawing her lips in a thin line, due to nervousness, she smiled at the little one.

"Hey...uhm...champ," Love said trying to sound cheerful.

The child remembering something now, sat back in the bed, folding his legs to his chest holding himself together.

"Hey hey hey, what's wrong?" Love asked getting up from the floor, and slowly waling towards the child. Seeing her get close that child tried to move further away on the mattress.

"Please, don't," the child cried.

Not wanting to scare him. Love stopped in her track tried to know his name, by looking deep in his eyes. Austin, was the name, she gasped.

"Hey, Austin, I'm not here to hurt you," Love said trying to gain his confidence by looking deep in his eyes, which he would stick to the ground most of the time.

"Austin? You know mommy has sent me." She lied.

"Mommy sent you? But I wasn't supposed to let her know," he said looking more terrified now.

"What weren't you supposed to tell Austin?" Love asked, even thought she knew the answer, she wanted to confirm it, since she couldn't believe the reality since Kayla told her about the case,  yesterday.

"That Samantha punishes me." He said.

"Why does she punish you?" Love asked, now closing the distance between them and sitting on the other end of the mattress.

For some reason Austin didn't move away this time, possibly because he was starting to trust her.

"She punished me because I stole it." He said looking at the mattress laying with his toes.

Love couldn't help but frown at him, "What did you steal?" She asked as soft as ever.

"Nutella," he said.

"What?" Love was shocked to listen to him.

"Why didn't you tell this to your mommy?" Love asked.

"She said mommy would punish me even more if she knew," Austin said as innocent as ever.

Love couldn't believe her ears. Looking at the tiny figure in front of her she cursed herself for not killing the bitch.

"Please don't tell mommy," Austin cried.

"Austin, mommy will never punish you, not for that," she said looking right into his eyes.

"She won't?" He asked surprised.

Love shook her head to confirm. " I talked to her." She lied.

"You did," Austin's eyes lit up with happiness.

"Okay, Austin, can I see what she did to you?" She asked.

Austin looked at her, and nodded. Picking his shirt up to his chest, Love could see the fresh bruise at the abdomen he had. It looked like a day old. And she was shocked.

"Austin, I want you to stay here, okay? No matter what you hear, don't step out of the room. Am I clear?" She asked.

With tears in her eyes, she closed the door behind her. Moving down the stairs, she took the gun out of her pocket as she approached the tied up figure on the chair, who had Kayla's hand on her head.

"Move back Kayla," Love said.

"Woah, Love calm down," Kayla said stepping back.

"Samantha who had her lips sealed, which was one other powers Kayla possessed, Love walked towards her, seeing fear evident in her eyes looking at the gun.

"Nutella, really? Listen bitch, you are gonna pay for every child you've played with," she said before shooting her with the silencer.

"Love, you can't do that?" Kayla said as patiently as ever.

"Just get rid of her," Love said before going back up.

Opening the door of his room, she looked at Austin who was playing with his cars on the carpeted floor.

"Where is Samantha?" Austin asked.

"She is gone," Love said smiling at him.

"When will she come back?"

"Never again," she said.

"Did you scold her before letting her go home?" He asked.

"Yes, I did, and now she is so scared of you that she will never come near you," she said.

"Austin, listen to me very carefully," Love said while Kayla watched the two from the door, leaning on it's frame. Austin came near Love and kept his tiny little hands in hers.

"Never let anyone punish you this way, and if someone does, you go straight to your parents, okay?" She said earning a nod from him.

"Promise?" She asked.

"Promise." He said giving her a hug as he threw his arms around her neck and she lifted him up.

"Okay now, we have to leave, but before we go, call your mom and tell her Samantha left, and no matter what happens Austin, don't tell anyone about us, will you?" She said.

"Okay," He smiled, as he took the phone in his hands and dialed his mom's number on the landline, after which Kayla erased his memory of the whole incidence, leaving the child which the innocence that he should have had.

Kayla saw a different side of Love today and she couldn't stop thinking about it. Though she was Love, she never was a kid person, but the way she got attached with Austin today, was different. She treated him like her own. She cried for him, and was worried for him.

"What are you thinking?" Love asked as she bought Kayla a beer, as they sat on the roof top of the abandon house watching the night sky.

"The kid," Kayla said

"Austin," Love corrected.

"Exactly, what happened back there?" She asked.

"He was scared Kayla, and they way that bitch made him believe that it was his fault that he was  being punished was so inhumane. The child would have grown up to blame himself for every sin others commit around him."  Love said.

"True that, but is it that" she asked sipping from her can.

Looking at the night sky, Love remembered the fear she felt in his eyes, the memories she saw that Austin had because of her.

"It wasn't any less than a nightmare," she gasped as a tear left her eye ad drooled on the check, making her feel the night cool air on the little trail it had formed there. Rubbing it off with her sleeve she looked at Kayla who had her eyes glued on her.

"What?" she asked.

"You felt it, didn't you?" She asked.

"I actually did," Love said realising what Kayla was referring to.
