The Reminder

Chapter Thirteen: The Reminder

Last Chapter:
Harry abruptly changed his course of initially walking to Gryffindor Tower. He spun around and started walking towards the dungeon. He'd show them House Unity.

Harry stopped as he approached the Slytherin Common Room. He wasn't exactly sure what he was going to do. Should he just walk in? The doors were aligned to let him- or rather Salazar -in without a password.

Before he could make any decision, the door swung open. The students that were sitting in the common room looked at him incredulously as he strode in. Which was fair enough. Harry Potter suddenly walking in the Slytherin Common Room would confuse anyone on a good day.

Harry kept his gaze straight as he walked towards the Boys Dorms. Hopefully, no one would bother him...

"Hey Potter, what do you think you're doing in our Common Room?"

Damn.

Harry turned to see Marcus Flint slink towards him. He gave the other student a wide smile. Flint didn't seem too impressed. "Well, I'm actually here to get Draco, so if you just let me pass."

Of course Harry knew that Flint had no intention of letting him pass through the Common Room, but it was still funny to see the frustration so obvious on his face.

"Look Potter," Flint growled, "Leave. Now. The Slytherin Common Room is meant for Slytherin students only. No other student from any house had been here in 700 years. You're the farthest thing from a Slytherin here."

Harry raised an eyebrow. "Funny you'd say that. I know for a fact that Crabbe and Goyle have less cunning put together in them than Professor Lockhart had in his entire body, but by all means, go on."

Harry gave a mocking smile and he saw the other Slytherin students pay more attention to them as Flint raised his fist to strike.

Fortunately for Flint - who knows what Harry would have done especially after that chat with Dumbledore - Draco chose that moment to walk into the Common Room from the Dorms. He gave the room a one-over before he spotted Harry standing by the entrance. The puzzled expression became replaced with an exasperated one.

"Why are you here? Wait, nevermind, don't answer that." Draco strode towards him and grabbed his arm, dragging him out of the Common Room. He could still see the other Slytherins staring at them as they left.

Ginny frowned as she waited for Harry and Draco to join the Feast. They were never this late, unless they were....

Ginny turned to Hermione who sat beside her. "Row, I have a feeling that Sal and 'Ric are up to something."

Hermione spun to face her. "I hope they don't do anything too drastic. I don't think Sal's meeting with the Headmaster went all that well. They..."

She trailed off. Ginny looked over to the Great Hall doors to see the two aforementioned boys walk towards the Gryffindor table and sit down right across from them. She warily eyed the smug look on both their faces.

Ginny frowned. "Where were you two last night?"

(A few seats away, Neville hears this and spits his pumpkin juice all over a disgusted Dean Thomas.)

Draco's pale skin has a pink tint to it. Harry leered at him for a brief moment before replying, "We were in Row's special room. I trust you remember where it is."

Hermione blinked. "Why were you in there?"

The two male Founders smirked at each other and before answering, "Lets just say, the House Common Rooms have gotten a bit of an upgrade."

The next few days can only be described as pure chaos. Overnight, the House Common Rooms had been pranked. The Slytherins has revealed that all of the dorm beds were stuck to the ceiling and a giant snake was drawn onto the wall inside the Common Room. The portraits inside refused to say who had done this, insisting that 'Slytherin always likes to shake things up' as if that made any sense to anyone other than the Four Founders who knew that they were talking about Salazar. The Slytherins had been furious, thinking they were the only ones to be pranked.

The other Houses soon learned that they weren't exempted from the prank.

The floor of the Ravenclaw Tower has turned into glass, freaking students out to look down and see transparent glass and the outside. They tested the glass and concluded that there was no danger of it breaking and sending the Ravenclaws to death by falling, but many Ravenclaws stayed clear of the Common Room. This of course angered them as it caused way too many disruptions.

On the other hand, the Hufflepuff Common Room now had a mascot, Honey the Honey Badger, something many people where quick to point out. The badger had a name tag and everything. The Hufflepuffs wouldn't have minded much if Honey wasn't the size of a hippogriff. No matter what they did short of stunning, the badger refused to leave. Eventually, they grew accustomed to it. Leave it to the Hufflepuffs to embrace the prank.

The Gryffindor Common Room caused the most strife with both students and staff alike. The Common Room was cleared of all furniture aside from a large couch and the walls were painted various bright, neon colours, mostly a blinding green and red making the Common Room look 'like a strange, headache-inducing Christmas themed pit of cheer and doom' as Salazar put it. However the part that stood out the most was the writing the covered the entire back wall of the Common Room above the fireplace. Written in large, dark paint, the words 'wHeREs THe hOgWArTs uNItY?' glared out at anyone that entered the Gryffindor Common Room. Professor McGonagall, Professor Dumbledore, and Filch tried everything they could to remove it but failed. What they didn't know was that Salazar charmed the paint in Parseltongue making it impossible to remove unless they brought in Voldemort himself to remove it.

While the rest of the school was busy, Salazar slipped into the girls' washroom in the second floor. Ignoring Myrtle's wide eyes as she realised who he really was, he turned to the tap with snakes engraved on it and spoke a single word in Parseltongue.

"Open."

AN: I'm back! Here's the next chapter. I'm glad to see that so many people enjoy reading this story. Hopefully the next chapter will be published sooner than this one! Happy Holidays!
