11. A New King For A New World
The world was without light, without an ocean, without an Underworld.
The dead milled between the living. The punished souls lived like kings in Elysium.
The people didn’t have much food. Without water, the plants and animals died leaving the people without food. Plants couldn’t grow because there was no sunlight. There were no tides because there was no moon. There wasn't even a ocean.
No one could leave their homeland. The world couldn’t get any worse but as usual it did.
Trigon used his earth powerd to hold the Doors of Death open, the door to Tartarus, the place where monsters go when they die. Monsters always found a way to get out of Tartarus but the Doors of Death were the main escape route. But they were always closed and shifting. But now that they were open, the monster wouldn't stay dead for long.
Anyway, there was chaos. The gods were turning on each other as they did during times of war. But this was worst because Trigon led their opposition.
Trigon sat in his makeshift throne, thinking of the next step in his plan. Fortunately, he never forgot the purpose of this war. To become King of the Universe.
He called Apollo and Diana. They arrived in their chariots: The Moon and Sun. Trigon used his power to combine the two chariots into one.
Once this was done he made his journey to Olympus, with his two lieutenants at his side. He took in the scenery as he flew. He knew this would all be gone by tomorrow. This war will be over by the next day.
While speaking with Diana, lightning boomed overhead. The monsters fell silent and looked to the sky were Trigon stopped. Right in front of Trigon, Jupiter flew triumphantly on his chariot.
“For once, you meet me in the battle field” Trigon stated with a serene look on his face.
"I realize you have taken my brothers under your spell." Jupiter said, lightning crackling in his beard. "The sky is my domain and you’ve made the mistake of fighting me where I am strongest!"
Trigon laughed, the monsters followed with a nervous laugh. "Oh Jupiter, you misunderstand. I’ve watched you ruin people’s lives. I was always the strongest but now that I have your brothers with me, I am unstoppable. Plus I have the lovely Diana and blinding Apollo. You’re outmatched. Surrender or fall! The decision is yours."
" I do not surrender and you’ve met your match. This is your day, Titan."
He flew out of his chariot, lightning bolts in both hands. Trigon met him, midair. Thunder crackled when they made contact.
They kept slashing back and forth. Strike, block, jab, strike. Eventually they gave up fighting and went to powers. Fire against lightning. For the first time in days, the sky was lit from Godly- and Titanly power.
Finally, Jupiter made a mistake: he went in for a stab with lightning bolts but Trigon flewstepped (sidestepped in the air) and put his flaming hand on Jupiter’s eyes. Jupiter screamed as he was blinded. Trigon quickly jumped on his chariot and rode triumphantly to Olympus.
Trigon leisurely strode in Olympus. Everybody in the halls bowed to him. He walked into the hall of the gods with every god present except for Jupiter though.
Trigon walked towards Jupiter and Juno’s throne. He moved it both to the side with his metal powers and summoned his throne. His thrown was made out of leather, enchanted gold and silk. He sat down and laughed at his new world.
“All hail Trigon, Titan of Evil, King of the Universe!” Mercury announced.
