Karzen analyzed Cole's hand and hesitantly shook it. Cole gave a smirk that sent chills down Elena's back.  "What are you doing in my house? You are aware I could kill you both right now? It wouldn't be hard-" Karzen was cut off by Cole, "If you know what's good for you, you won't lay a finger on her." He sounded stern and cold, completely unforgiving.

Karzen put his finger under his chin as if deep in thought. He slowly nodded but he didn't look too certain. "How's Evelyn? I heard some of her little outburst..." his tone quickly shifted to pained. He finally found his childhood friend but now she was timid and he was a murderer. His jaw went slack but he shook his head, "Why are you so  protective of this...Earth girl? You're a dragon so why not kill h-" Cole facepalmed after hearing Karzen's words, "Would you kill Evelyn? Just because she's a weak pixie?"

After that Karzen lunged at Cole and gripped his shoulders tight, "WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT HER?!" Karzen let go, "I'm...sorry. I never wanted this. You two should go now, it's not exactly safe around me." Cole walked up to Elena and put his arm around her shoulders, "We have to turn you in for killing her father. We're not going anywhere."

Karzen gave a forced, empty laugh. "That was your dad? You're telling me this amateur mage is the daughter of a military hero and the head guard of Areagore?! Do you have any idea how much the Dragon Resistance wants you dead?!" He shook his blood red hair out of his face and straightened his eye patch. "Like I said earlier, you should go now." Karzen repeated. Cole patted Elena's back, "I guess we can't turn him in yet but we could at least get some more information." Elena was shaking, this guy wanted  her dead!

Cole gave Elena another pat. Elena asked, "Why did you leave Evelyn?" Karzen cringed, "What gives you the right to ask that? You don't need to know. I'm a dead man anyway so why try to sympathize with the very man that killed your own father?" Elena frowned, "It's just that...Evelyn misses you a lot and...she blames herself for all of this." Karzen began to shake, "LEAVE! LEAVE ME! SHE DOESN'T NEED ME! TURN ME IN FOR ALL I CARE! IT'S NOT LIKE I CAN TAKE BACK WHAT I'VE DONE!"

Elena hugged Digiorno, "I think you should say goodbye to her first, you shouldn't die with regret. My dad...he was happy when he died because he got to be with the one he loved. He got to die with me by his side and he could see my mom again. If you don't want to then do it for Evelyn's sake." Cole smiled at Elena and Elena shyly smiled back. Karzen took the opportunity to shove them out the door.

"Well, that was fun..."Elena sarcastically remarked. Cole lightly punched her shoulder, "I think we cracked him! He got emotional so he must feel bad for what he did right?" Elena laughed, "That guy killed my dad! I don't think I can jump to conclusions that fast...I think he only feels bad for Evelyn."

Cole nodded, "It's not really surprising though, I was lucky to go to Earth because the Dragon Resistance targets a lot of young Dragons. I was kept in my egg though. They probably manipulated him you know? Dragons are feared by most people and the new Dragon Banishment law shows that pretty well." Elena petted Digiorno behind his ears, "Do you think that's why he joined?"

"I'm certain, he was obviously attached to Evelyn so I doubt he would join out of his own free will, right?" Cole explained. "Yeah, I guess you're right. We should probably ask Evelyn a few questions." Elena pondered. They walked through Ludenville until they were pulled into an alley. Two tall guys were hovering over them. Elena went wide eyed and Cole calmly stood his ground.

Elena waved, "H-Hello!" Cole facepalmed, "Why did you two pull us over here?" One of the men sneered, "We're just friends of Azmend's! No need to panic, this will only hurt a LOT!" he swung his arm towards Elena and she ducked just in time. "AAAH NO NO NOPE NO THANK YOU!!!" Elena shouted. Cole quickly switched into his dragon form and swiped the two men down. Taking the opportunity Elena chanted her sleeping spell again. Elena turned to get onto Cole but paused once she realized how big he was, he was the size of a bus!!

"U-Um, let's just go home..." Elena hesitantly climbed onto him. Cole swiftly soared into the air, and they zoomed in the direction of their cottage. Elena admired his giant blue wings and hugged tight to his neck. "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Elena shouted. Cole let out a happy roar and started to do a few flips. Elena laughed in delight, "YOU'RE AWESOME! THIS IS AMAZING!!" Cole leaped over clouds and before both of them knew it they were home.

Almost as soon as they landed Monica came running out of the cottage. "WHAT THE HECK ELENA?! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE HIDING!!! COLE, DRAGONS AREN'T ALLOWED! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO STAY HUMAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed. Both Elena and Cole covered their ears, Cole went out in a puff of blue smoke and came back human. He was laughing like an idiot and smiling like it was Christmas morning. Elena tackled him in a hug, "That was amazing!" she shouted. Cole was beaming and hugged her even tighter. Monica just sat there, she was fuming. "Come inside, idiots." she said and led them back into the house. Nobody knew that Karzen was waiting upstairs, patiently awaiting his final crime, revealing his secrets.
