The sound kept getting louder, till it stopped suddenly and there was pin-drop silence all around.  

"What happened Prachi? Why did the voice disappear? I am not feeling good about it." Shahana was worried.

"Don't worry. I am there with you. Let's look around, we will find something for sure. Just stick close to me, okay?" Prachi tried to assure her though she was scared herself.

They started looking around, but there was no sign of anyone or anything. Dejected, they sat down to have some rest. Shahana was feeling thirsty, so she asked Prachi to give pass her the water bottle. While taking out the water bottle, something fell out of her bag. Both of them glanced at it at first, but then kept staring it in surprise. Finally Shahana managed to speak something.

"How did it come in your bag? It is not yours."

"I don't know. I have never seen it earlier." Prachi was clueless.

Prachi was holding a phone in her hand. She decided to try and unlock it. As soon as she opened it, a audio recording flashed on the screen. She glanced at Sahana, who nodded her head in reply. Prachi clicked the play button and immediately the whimper of a child could be heard. As the track proceeded, it kept on getting louder, until the audio stopped automatically and once again they were surrounded by a deadly silence.

The truth dawned upon them.

"Some.....someone has played a pra....prank on us.  I don't remember the path through which we came, do you?" Shahana asked, fear evident in her voice.

"Even I am not sure. Don't worry. We will figure something together. For the time being, let's continue walking." Prachi's voice lacked her usual confidence.

At the camp :

Rhea and Dimpy arrived at the camp sobbing. Everyone looked at them in surprise.

"What happened? Why are you crying? Where are Prachi and Shahana?" a teacher asked.

"Ma'am.... Pra...Prachi and Shahana......... They......... They are........" Rhea sobbed.

"Yes Rhea, what happened to them?" the teacher urged her to continue

"Ma'am, we are walking, when we heard some noise and decided to search it's source. Prachi and Shahana were with us till then. At one point, Rhea and I turned back to find them missing. We searched a lot but couldn't find them. So, we returned back." Dimpy informed about the cooked up theory.

Barely completing her words, she started crying once again. The teacher ordered a student to help them and leave them in their tent.

Ranbir and Aryan were shocked to hear the news. They were standing like stone statues hearing everything till now. The news was too hard for them to digest. When finally they absorbed the news, they began acting like fanatics.

"We must do something. The police must be informed. They can be in danger." Ranbir was tensed.

"Relax Ranbir, I have informed the police. They will be here by tomorrow." the Principal tried to calm him.

"Tomorrow??!! We can't afford to wait till tomorrow. It's going to be dark soon and the jungle is not safe then. We must do something ourselves." Aryan shouted angrily.

"You are correct, it's not safe. And that is the exact reason we can't do anything." the principal stated bluntly.

"So, what? We can't just back caring for ourselves when they are in danger." Ranbir was agitated.

"Listen, I know both of you are worried for your friends. But we can't let more students in danger." the principal denied helping them.

"Fine! I am going to find them. Anyone wants to come with me?" Ranbir resolved.

"I'm with you bro." Aryan joined him.

Ranbir and Aryan cast a look at everyone and saw that everyone was too selfish for their own lives to care for Prachi or Shahana. Well, it was not wrong. After all, they were also going to save their life which resided in the girls whom they loved. 

In Rhea and Dimpy's tent :

Rhea and Dimpy were holding a can of coke each. They were celebrating.

"Finally we got rid of them! All thanks to your brilliant planning." Dimpy said happily.

"Thanks for the compliment. By the way, your acting was good too. Their chapter is over in our lives. Now Ranbir is only mine." Rhea rejoiced.

"But if, they manage to escape?" Dimpy asked the question that had popped up in her mind.

"It's near to impossible to do so in the dark. The jungle is too dense." Rhea was confident of her plan.

"But......."

"No ifs and buts. Are you not happy that now my brother Aryan is all yours?" Rhea was in no mood to listen to anything.

"Yes"

"So, just chill and enjoy."

In the jungle :

Prachi and Shahana were blindly walking through the forest. Even Prachi, who was trying to cheer up Shahana was feeling scared now as it was getting dark.

"What now Prachi? I think we are lost for sure." Shahana asked.

"I really don't know. Just pray that someone comes to find us." Prachi said hopefully.

"The chances are nil. I don't think anyone will risk their life for us. We will have to save ourselves." Shahana thought practically.

"You are correct. First we need to find a place to stay at night. It is unsafe to stay in the open." she agreed.

They started walking once again. Prachi was not looking at the ground while walking as she was searching for shelter. She failed to notice a large rock in the way and tripped on it. She was about to fall, when Shahana rushed to help her. And the result was that both of them fell down. Prachi sprained her ankle while Shahana's hands were scratched badly and she was bleeding profusely. 

They were cursing their fate. First, they were lost in the jungle and now they were injured.

Prachi took a hanky and used to bandage Shahana's arm.

"Are you Ok? Can you walk?" Prachi asked.

"I'm ok and it's you who sprained your ankle. Can you walk?" she questioned back.

"It doesn't matter. We must. Things can't go worse than they are now, can they" Prachi stated.

Suddenly, there was a rustling of leaves. Something was approaching them. They looked at each other fearfully.

"May be I was wrong. Things can become worse than this." Prachi regretted saying so earlier.

They stood up and came closer to each other, ready to defend themselves from the thing which was coming towards them.
