EPISODE 56
"How can I help you?" Shahana asked the man seated in front of her.
A few minutes ago, the receptionist had called her to ask what she should tell the man who was waiting to meet Aryan. As Aryan was in an important meeting, Shahana instructed the receptionist to send the man to her.
"I have something to give to Mr. Khanna." the man replied.
"You can give it to me. I'll pass it to him." Shahana said.
"Mr. Khanna has strictly told us to give it only to him." the man informed.
"I'm his wife, Mrs. Shahana Khanna, you can trust me." she assured.
The man handed over an envelope to her and left after reminding her several times that the envelope contained important papers.
Shahana's PA came the next second and enquired about a file. She had kept the envelope on the table and began explaining to her PA when a strong gust of wind blew the papers from her table. They closed the window and began collecting the papers.
"If the documents were so important, why didn't he seal the envelope?" she scolded the person mentally as all the contents of the envelope were now out.
As she was stuffing it back into the envelope, few random words caught her attention. Curiosity got better of her and she read the papers.
What she read left her surprised and confused.
"Is there a problem, ma'am?" her PA asked on noticing the change in her expressions.
"No. Highlight the clauses and bring it to me." she ordered.
The PA left to do the assigned work while Shahana sat down to think.

"Can't you understand if someone cuts the call, he/she is not interested in talking with you?" Disha blasted at Purab who had called her at least a million times since the morning.
"But I wanted to talk with you." Purab replied innocently.
"So what should I do?" Disha questioned angrily.
"Talk to me." Purab answered nonchalantly.
"Speak." Disha understood that Purab won't give up easily, so it was better to have a chat with him.
"Will you go on dinner with me?" he offered.
"To hear your wife screaming at me uselessly for hours? No way." Disha rolled her eyes.
"How can you scream at yourself?" Purab acted to be confused.
"I meant to say Alia, not me." Disha clarified.
"She isn't my wife, you are." Purab asserted.
"No, she is." Disha supported her point.
"In case your memory has gone weaker, we have never divorced and I have neither married Alia legally or religiously, so you are my wife not she." Purab explained.
"Ok. I'll send a divorce notice to you soon." Disha muttered.
"I won't sign them ever. By the way, was your father an alien?" Purab asked out of the blue.
"What made you think this?" Disha asked irritatedly.
"Because no one on earth is as lovely as you." he grinned.
"Don't you think you are too old now for these pick up lines?"
"If I am old, you are old too, that means we should retire. Let's get settled on the mountains. No one will disturb us there." Purab started making plans.
"Purab ji, I feel like smashing your head." Disha threatened.
"Did you realize what you did?" Purab said excitedly.
"What?"
"You called me Purab ji after so many years. It proves you still love me, no matter how hard you try to hide it."
"Umm.....I......" Disha searched for an answer to rebuff him, but could find none. "Bye" she disconnected the call.
Purab smiled contentedly, his work for a day was done.

Aryan entered their room at night to find Shahana by the window. He closed the door and hugged her from the back.
"Aryan, I have something to discuss with you." Shahana said gravely.
"I'm in no mood for discussing business now." he complained.
"It's not business but it's important."
Aryan sensed the seriousness in her voice and left her. Shahana turned towards him.
"What is it you are worried about?"
"First of all, I'm sorry for reading this without your permission." she handed him the envelope.
He took it from her and read its contents.
"I guess you need some explanations." he started. "I have been doubting mom since a long time. Once I heard her wanting to harm someone named Disha and decided to carry out investigations on my own. On the day of the party, I came to know that your maasi's name is Disha and her eyes matches with a burnt picture I have. So......."
"So, you decided to check her history to make sure if she is the same Disha or not." Shahana completed for him.
"Yes. I know it's a crime to dig out personal information about someone but I'm desperate now. I want a normal happy family, not a dysfunctional one." his eyes filled with tears.
Shahana held his hand and gave it an assuring squeeze.
"You are not wrong and I will help you." she smiled.
"I can't express how thankful I am to you, Shahana"
"Don't be. You are the one who helped me out of my depression."
"I'll hire another investigator tomorrow." Aryan said with a new vigor.
"It will be of no use. The new one will only get only the little information this one has given you." Shahana denied the idea.
"How do you know?" Aryan raised an eye brow.
"From what I have heard from bits of Disha maasi and Pragya maasi's talks, Disha maasi was married to a man who had cheated her for another woman. To forget him and move in her life, she had deleted all information of her past life and started afresh."
"So what should we do?"
"We have to sit and note down all the hints and information we know till now." Shahana suggested.
"We will start working from tomorrow. Now, I have some incomplete work to complete."
"What work do you have at this time?" she frowned.
"The same work before you had interrupted me." he said huskily and pulled her closer to him by the waist.
