B note
- day 2
Rose found herself laying on a bed of thorns, she sat up and looked around to see where she was. She knew every place in heaven and what she was seeing didn't match Heaven at all. Around her the walls were painted with blood, negative words and creepy skulls was placed around her, the floor didn't look stable either. On the ground there was cracks everywhere with fire peeking out the little holes. Rose stood up and carefully walked to the cracks, as soon as she placed her foot down she noticed she wasn't wearing any shoes which was strange since she made sure she slept with something on her feet. It was strange she did that but she had to, there was a con about being 'special'. No matter how many magical abilities you had you always have a flaw in order to be perfect like the rest, but not too perfect. Rose flaw was that if too much coldness gets to her feet she falls to her own death. Rose shook the feeling off that something was odd and knelt down to where the crack was, she traced her gentle fingers on the crack edges. The edges felt like leather against her skin, the feeling was somewhat pleasing to her, the angel froze as soon as she realised what was going on. Rose bit her lip while pressing her thumb on the edge more harder making sure she received a cut, the guilt of lying cause her to dream of such horrible thoughts. "So this is the feeling of getting punished?" She mumbled bitterly, she never knew what pain felt like but now she did. And she hated it. Yet she knew she deserved it. The guilt filled angel stood up again and walked more forward, she wanted to fall down the pit and burn to ashes, she felt as if she wasn't worthy to be called 'prophecy angel' anymore.
She walked more and more closer to the pit until she felt something burn her arm, the angel let out a scream of pain when the sudden flame traveled up from her spine to her heart. The sound of keys clicking could be heard from the distance, the angel suddenly panicked and squirmed around to see where she was, she looked to her right to see chains and torture devices proudly hanging of the wall. Next to the torture devices was ropes, handcuffs, whips, knifes, guns, swords, holy water that was filled with acid and many more. The sight of the weapons made the angel feel small and terrified. She knew where she was and she didn't like it, she felt scared and small but what she was mostly scared of was who was the master of this torture room. The angel looked to her left to see cages, white golden cages that was personally created to trap angels. All of a sudden the sound of cage keys was heard next to her slamming onto the cage, she turned around hoping to see a dent on the cage, sadly there wasn't. She looked up to see unfamiliar brown eyes staring into her own, the look the person gave her wasn't sweet at all. The look was made out of pure evil, the person was obviously a male. From head to toe the mysterious guy looked attractive, the angel didn't want to think he was attractive but she couldn't help it. Everything about him seemed dangerous and interesting, which she never really found in a guy. 'No you're a maiden, you shouldn't think like that about males' she thought to herself and mentally cursed to herself, she made sure she took in the guy appearance. He had chocolate brown hair, his lips was a perfect cherry red colour. She didn't want to think his lips was naturally red, to her bad luck it was. The guy seemed to be 6'1, his skin was pale white. The outfit he was wearing made rose want to curl up in a ball of how attractive and sexy he was, she would never use that word to describe someone but this young man in front of her was a exception. The suit he wore fit his appearance perfectly, he looked like those ceos you'll only find in hell. Then the thought got her 'I'm in hell' she realised, she regretted thinking that this demon in front of her was attractive, she wanted to escape this dreadful dream. The man raised his eyebrow in amusement at her behaviour, he slipped his hand in and caressed her cheek softly "naughty angel, no one told you about the melody huh? Oh well it's too late now to leave. Actually" he opened the cage door, the angel noticed that she was in a bird cage. The bird cage was built with ethereal mist, the mist creates objects that can never be broken. This material was always used against angels, how this demon got the ethereal mist? The angel didn't know. All she knew was that she was trapped in a nightmare.
The demon moved aside for the angel to step out, Rose took the chance and stepped out, however she paused. She was an angel but not a stupid one, she heard all about demons trickery, they would give you the greatest deal you would ever want, at the same time they would mess the deal up and leave you broken. The impact of the deal gives the demon great power while the victim not so much. Rose stared at the demon trying to hide her fear away, "this isn't like a demon, what's your motive?" The angel asked with power in her voice. The demon only smiled sweetly, too sweetly. He turned around "nothing, my motive is nothing. I'm letting you free, but~" he pulled the word but, the angel knew the demon was about to pull his trickery on her. Just as she thought that the demon smirked at her with evil reflecting in his eyes, she was right. The demon whistled loudly and let out a laugh, the laugh didn't sound human at all, the laugh sounded like statics from a broken computer. However to her the laugh sounded beautiful to her ears, she always heard dolphin laughs and all sorts of other laughs but not a static one. She knew she shouldn't feel like this to a stranger but she couldn't help it, it seemed so blissful to her yet dangerous. The sensation of his fingers suddenly felt so cold and lifeless, the demon pointed to the door "go ahead, go face the punishment you'll get for lying and falling for me, the wrong species. Or would you rather stay here where you can be safe and free?" He leaned closer to her, the angel felt her cheeks burn up with some new feeling of adrenaline. The angel shook her head. 'So it's true, the demon trickery is too hard to resist' the angel thought hopelessly. The scene suddenly turned pure black, the voice of the demon could only be heard "we'll see each other soon and you'll be craving for me and my melody little angel".
The angel woke up that morning with sweat dripping down her neck, that often happened when she has a bad dream. Rose sat up and gripped the silver lined sheets, she faced the wall in front of her with fear in her eyes. The dream she had wasn't so pleasant. The dream felt so real. "You'll be craving for me and my melody.." she whispered the words he had told her. Rose immediately stood up and looked at her feet, she spotted her magical socks and sighed in relief. That didn't calm her at all though, the demon words seemed venomous yet it was true, she wished she could've stayed in that bird cage, away from the punishment she will soon get. The angel walked to the showers and stripped until her maiden dress was on the floor, the water felt so refreshing on her skin, after all that stress all she needed was a nice warm shower. Once she was done refreshing she slipped the light blue dress on and placed the golden flower crown on her head, her hair was perfectly styled up. The image she had was one word. Perfect.
Rose double checked in the mirror to see if she wasn't looking messy, there was a rule when leaving your room in the palace. You must be looking presentable and royal, any tangled hair, ripped dress, loose pants and smudged make up you'd be kicked out of your spot. The mirror borders was made out of gold as well, almost everything in the palace was gold. Rose smiled at her reflection "this is good enough" she complimented herself and walked out her room confidently, the hall way had baby blue lights on the ceiling, under the lights was pillars that had statues of heros placed on them. When Rose was a kid she would run around in the hallways and stare at the statues in awe, even at the age of 19 she can hear herself say "I wish to be as great as those heros, I wish to have my own weavings". Rose didn't realise she was just standing there staring at the statues for 5 minutes straight, she quickly turned around and walked faster down the hallway to the dining room. She could feel the statues staring at her with high expectations as she walked past.
Rose made it to the dining room in time and took her seat, she sat next to her best friend Lisa. Lisa was one of the prophecy angels who proved herself. She saved the legion 3 years ago when she was 16, she had no one helping her other then herself. Rose secretly envied Lisa for having such bravery, jealousy wasn't that common in Heaven so if anyone knew about Rose feelings towards Lisa achievement she would've got a 9 hour scolding. Lisa blonde locks fit her baby pink outfit well, she looked like a goddess in the outfit. In front of them was Jennie and Jisoo, them two proved themselves as well. Jennie eliminated and brought peace to the realms when the human world started to know about the demon and angel world, then the war of the century started. During that time everyone wasn't stable and couldn't keep up, however Jennie was the key to stop the war. Jisoo inherited a part of Heaven so she was originally a princess, she didn't let that title get to her when she did the greatest deed every angel wouldn't even have thought of doing. Connecting the world together and balancing it with her power, she sacrificed her magical abilities so everyone can live peacefully. She was the holder of peace and balance. Rose didn't know what she was the ruler of, she didn't prove herself yet the girls accepted her as if she was family. She was the newest member of the prophecy circle, she had been brought to the circle 9 months ago while the girls have been in the circle for 7 years. Rosé felt so small compared to the 3 girls, they seemed so powerful compared to her while she felt as if she was a flea next to a goddess. Jisoo interrupted her thoughts "I heard you're going on your quest" Jisoo nibbled on her golden apple happily, despite losing her powers she was still happy. Every girl on the table wished to be happy like Jisoo.
Rose smiled and nodded at Jisoo "I am" she bit the inside of her right cheek out of nervousness, she wanted to ask a question. The question was in her head for weeks, she tried asking last week but something made her hesitate. Now she had the chance to. Rose looked at the 3 girls and asked "what is there in the Hell realm? Why do no Angels go?" The question came out more as a statement. As soon as every girl stiffened and smiled at her awkwardly Rose regretted asking that question, she knew they would feel uncomfortable at first but before she stepped in the forbidden land she needed to know more information before getting herself in trouble. Lisa sat more closer to Rosé while staring at the ground, Lisa made sure Rose was listening so she placed her hand on top of Rosé hand. "Rose there are many dangers in the Hell realm and the reason why most angels don't visit Hell is because we angels are weak there and they have as much angel traps as we do with demon traps" Lisa explained, she secretly made eye contact with Jennie with a look that said 'should I tell her?'.
Lisa had mixed emotions about telling the newest member of the circle about how demons can seduce angels easily, she didn't want Rose to become curious like the others and get herself killed by meeting a demon. Jennie nodded at Lisa, she had other thoughts. She wanted Rose to know the dangers so she can be prepared. Lisa sighed and faced Rose, she knew Rose would be scared on her quest so telling her this secret will make her fear worse. That's how all of the girls were when they were sent on their quests, they each didn't expect anything from the adventure but when they did it was worse then they expected. Lisa almost died. Jisoo almost ended up becoming a spirit and Jennie almost gave in temptation, she had to fight for her innocence. Lisa started to explain "Be careful, those demons can seduce angels easily, there's many ways to seduce an angel, the most effective method is the..." Lisa shivered when remembering her first encounter with a demon that had tried pulling that trick on her, Bambam. Lisa inhaled deeply knowing how much it will hurt her to say it "The method is the forbidden melody, the forbidden melody was used in the ancient times to capture powerful angels. Now they don't use that method but some demons who survived that war still use it." She started to choke on her words, Jisoo and Jennie started to regret making Lisa, the most effected angel, say it. They wished they said it instead of innocent Lisa who had been through that and battled to be set free. Lisa eyes became stormy with many sad emotions hidden deep inside that bright smile, she proved herself but she didn't prove to herself that she got over the trauma from that event. "The melody is locked away in the human world, however some demon found it and learnt the song. There are a few angels who got trapped by the user and was sent back killed" Lisa paused, her eyes became bloodshot red with memories attacking her, the pain she felt from Bambam trickery and torture. The fear that had eaten her up. 'No more' she had said that day, she was fed up with the fear and weak feeling. Her grip on Rose hand suddenly tightened "the common phrase the demons sing is 'this isn't a punishment~ come here I'm your paradise~ don't reject me~" Everyone was silent of how angelic Lisa sounded, she managed to hypnotise them. Lisa noticed the song effected them and started to sing the song that takes the effect off angels, she took a deep breath and sang softly "I'll never leave you alone even if I try my best to hold onto you". The 3 angels snapped out of it and realised how powerful the melody is. The information Rosé was being given only made her more anxious, she already had a dream about a melody and a demon. Now that Rose knows the abilities that demons have she felt even more unworthy.
Jennie noticed how Rose scrunched up her nose, she smiled knowing that whenever Rose does that she indicates that she's scared. Jennie saw Rose as a little sister that she needed to protect at all costs. Rose shuffled a bit in her seat, the seat looked like it was uncomfortable to sit on due to the golden legs that held the chair up but the chair was actually really comfortable to sit on, it feels like sitting on a fluffy cloud. "I'll get going.." Rose stood up and left the room ignoring the other girls protests, she wanted to be alone. As she walked down the hallways the voice of the demon kept playing in her head, the thought of the demon watching her spooked her.
To her luck the voice became louder "are you going to visit me darling?" Rose let out a silent scream when she felt her ankles become numb, the whole ground under her looked broken and torn apart. It must've been her imagination when she looked down, she saw the same cracks from her dream with little sparks from the flames poking out, the same exact smirk flashed right in front of her. The angel shook her head not wanting to believe what was happening "chaeyoung it's just your imagination-" the same voice interrupted her quite rudely, the angel looked unamused of how not so charming the demon was. A sudden chill surrounded the angel, the circle around her felt as if she was standing on thin ice. Rose quickly hugged herself in fear, she knew she shouldn't feed the demon with her fear but she couldn't help it. The demon knew all about her weakness and wasn't going to hesitate to use it against her. He wanted it to be his way, and he will. The coldness around the angel only became more colder, by this point if she was mortal the cold would've froze her to death, "oh sweetheart this isn't your imagination, I'm always watching you. And what bambam little lady said about us demons~ it's all true, we can use many ways to get to you weak angels. Before I leave and prepare for your visit I need to say a few words. The way you angels see the world as a holy and balanced place is all lies, pain is everywhere~ even in your heart your greatest pain is soon to meet you. Remember my words angel, this will be the only time I will be nice to you. Now I shall go and prepare. I don't want to disappoint my guest" the demon spoke with such hatred and bitterness, the angel has met many evil people but the demon she was facing seemed more emotionally torn. Before she knew it the cold breeze was gone with the feeling of someone presence. Rosé stood there stunned, she found the demons voice creepy and weird, the demon voice didn't sound normal at all. The demon voice sounded like a thorn getting hammered into the wall.
It took Rosé 5 seconds to realise what happened, she shivered and ran to her room without stopping, she felt her sanity slipping with every meeting she had with the demon. The effect of the demon. That's why demons and angels aren't supposed to meet, no matter how strong an angel can act towards an old ancient demon the demon always dominates the angel. The Demon soon takes full control of the angel soul and leaves them broken while the demon is left with full power to rule the two realms. Lisa was just lucky she snapped out of the demon trance and escaped. The echoes of the demon voice kept ringing into the angel ears, every single word he said to her, all of it. She didn't know what to do except run till she feels safe.
Just in time the emperor maid walked up to the confused angel and passed a purple envelope, Rose only stared at the envelope in awe, she wanted to grab it so badly but her arms weren't obeying her. In Heaven there's colours of envelopes and purple was to show that the message was extremely important. The purple envelope was rarely used so most Angels never saw it, after 10 seconds Rose picked up the envelope and carefully opened it. She could've ripped the paper open and threw it to the side, sadly there's a rule about that. You can't destroy precious objects or items. Rose passed the now empty envelope to the maid, she was about to nod politely to the maid but before she could blink, the maid was gone. Rose shrugged and felt the cardboard that was in her hand, instead of a leathery feeling the cardboard felt soft and stretchy. The cardboard in heaven wasn't even called cardboard, it had a strange long name for it. Candienta. Jisoo being the peace holder planned to give the objects simpler names once she ruled. Rose had the urge to pull and play with the stretchy cardboard but she couldn't unless she wanted her head cut off. Or even worse. Her wings cut off. The angel opened up the neatly folded up paper and started to read the note.
'You need to leave at sun down, and you must do it fast. Be careful of the forbidden melody, also stay safe and keep this necklace I'm giving you on at all times. There's one thing all angels must remember. Hell Is where we are weak amongst demons, and hell is where they are the strongest.
- Ten'
Rose felt something hard press against her palm, she could easily tell it was the necklace Ten gave her. She lifted the necklace up gently with the cloth wrapped around the precious jewel, Rose became speechless as soon as she laid her eyes on it, the jewel was a perfectly carved sugilite (a purple gem) it was obvious the emperor had the necklace personally made just for her. Rose didn't hesitate to put the necklace on, the necklace fit her skin tone perfectly.
Rose knew she was done for the day, she quickly summoned her bags and stepped inside the carriage that would take her to her destination. Satan home land. Rose tightly gripped onto the music box and sighed "here goes nothing" she sounded exhausted and nervous, which she did feel like. She wanted to complete the task and finally prove herself. Rose knew it was going to be hard just by convincing the lord to accept the token, however that wasn't what bothered her. The demon was. The demon was waiting for her and she knew all about it. If only she knew how the demon looked she would've avoided him.
The horses in front of the carriage transformed into their Pegasi form, the horses brown fur became goldish brown. The most impressive feature about the peagsi form was that there was armour on the peagsi body. Instead of the peagsi looking like baby horses the horses looked strong and powerful. The peagsi took off flying into the morning sky. At that moment Rose knew she had to be prepared for the worst.
