Chapter 7 (Picture of Mason)
CHAPTER 7 // EDITED
"I want to see them knees high!" I yelled at the guys as we did high knees. "If you even dare to slow down and you'll give me 20. Not push ups, dollars!"
"Hensley," a voice called behind me and I whistled making the guys stop, I turned to coach. He walked up with someone beside him, I recognized Mason.
I avoided Mason since that moment in the weight room, I felt so weak. I regretted ever breaking down in front of him, I was an idiot for doing so.
"This is Mason Taylor," coach announced getting everyone's attention. "He's joining Eastside as well as the football team." I could hear the guys having a controversial, but I tuned them out as I studied the grass.
"Blake," Praxton said as he shoved me. "Stop daydreaming."
"She's staring at that good kush," Justice said making the team laugh, I chuckled looking over at coach.
"I'll treat him the same as the rest," I told him and looked over at Mason. He was looking around the field with his hands in his pockets.
"I will too," Justice said, Kingston threw the football he was holding at Mason hitting him in the stomach. Mason grunted and doubled over in pain.
"Ricky!" Justice yelled and Mason looked up at the two.
"Guys, we told you to stop doing that," Reese snapped. "Didn't you learn after Blake chased you with her skateboard?" I smiled at that memory and looked at the guys clapping my hands together.
"Ok, enough chitchat, back to practice," I raised my voice and I turned to Mason. "Taylor, fall in line." He stood up straight and walked with the other guys. "Ok, burpees, let's go."
We were finishing up practice by running laps and then heading up to the gym. The guys shouted as they ran to the showers, Mason walked past me and I looked up at him. I looked away and walked to my gym bag.
I grabbed my phone and sat down, I looked at my messages. I was replying to Lacey when my name was called.
"Blake," Cody called, I headed over to the showers and put my shoulder against the tile.
"Yes?" I answered.
"When is Frankie's party?"
"This Friday,"
"So Mason, what do you say?" Kingston asked and I closed my eyes. Please say no. Please say n-
"I guess I can," Mason answered, I squeezed my eyes shut and walked away.

"I'm going to punch you, Blake," Lacey hissed as she wrapped a strand of my hair around the curler. "You're almost done."
"Lacey, hurry up," I whined as I crossed my arms. She let another curl go and sat the curler down. "Are you done?"
"Yes, you little baby," she shot at me and I smile up at her. I stood up and bounced out my curls, I turned back around to my best friend.
I took off my robe revealing my outfit and looked over at Lacey doing the same. I had on a white corset top and skinny jeans.
Lacey had on a pink top with a bow and black and white patterned shorts.
I tucked my phone in the waistband of my jeans Lacey placed hers in a handbag. I snatched up my keys from my bed and we headed downstairs.
Storm and Riley were asleep cuddled up on the couch while an old Disney movie was playing. We headed out to my car and got in, Lacey immediately grabbed the aux cord.
"I'm feeling Halsey," she said as she plugged in her phone, I pulled out from my driveway as Control leak through my speakers.
"I'm meaner than my demons!" We sang loudly, I made a turn and then parked along the street. We looked over towards Frankie's house and listened to the loud music seeping from the house.
We got to the door as it swung open and two guys ran out chasing each other with paintball guns. We jumped out of the way as we looked at each other and laughed.
"Max," Lacey called, I watched her as she hurried over to her hoodlum. I shook my head as her and walked the opposite way.
"Blake!" Someone called my name as I pushed through the multiple people. I looked over to see the football team and headed over to them.
"What's up, guys?" I asked when I reached them, I took Reese's drink and took a swallow.
"Help yourself," Reese said, I smiled at him and handed it back. "Where's your sidekick?" I turned and pointed over to Lacey making out with Max.
"What does she see in him?" Kingston asked, I shrugged and turned back to the guys.
"I'm going to go grab a drink," I said to no one in particularly, I walked through the guys and into the kitchen. I dug through the cooler and pulled out a bottle of water.
"Can you pass me a water?" I heard a voice from behind me, I turned around to see Mason. I reached back into the cooler grabbing a water, I handed it to him avoiding eye contact. Just run away Blake! "You can't avoid me forever."
"I can try," I shot back, he looked at me with a blank face. I looked away from him and disappeared into the crowd.
My throat and feet were hurting from all the dancing and laughing I had done. Currently, I was pushing through the sweaty humans trying to get to the staircase. When I finally succeeded, my phone vibrated against my side and I pulled it out.
I'm catching a ride with Max. Love you! 😘 -Wife 💎
I rolled my eyes and tucked my phone in my back pocket, I walked up the stairs and down the hall. I found the bathroom after walking in on couples making out twice, I really need to start knocking.
I finished up drying my hands and walked out from the restroom. As soon as I stepped out, my shirt was grabbed and my body was slammed against a wall. I hissed at the impact and looked up to see Reagan.
"My best friend," he said with a wicked smile. "Where's my spot on the football team?" I laughed as I looked up at him.
"Suck my dick," I said with a smile, but it disappeared when he gripped my throat.
"Maybe some persuading is needed," he said through his teeth.
"Go to hell," I said through gritted teeth, he slammed me against the wall again and gripped tighter around my throat. I gasped for breath and clawed at his hand, my chest burned as I struggled to get air.
I built up enough strength to knee Reagan in the balls, his hand disappeared from my throat letting me take a sharp intake of breath.
"You bitch," he hissed at me, he snatched up my ankle, but I kicked loose from his grip. I scrambled up from the floor and hurried down the hallway.
I walked down the stairs trying my best to act normal, I slipped out of the front door and broke out into a full sprint across the yard. I got to my car and hopped into the drivers seat.
Once Frankie's house was clear from my view, I pulled off into a diner and took a breath before I got out. I walked into the diner and headed straight for the bathroom.
I walked to the sink and cupped my hands under the faucet, I splashed water onto my face and then patted my face dry. The door swung open making me jump and I let out a breath in attempt to calm my nerves.
After I ordered a chocolate smoothie, I headed back out to my car. I pulled out my keys, but dropped them onto the asphalt. I bent down to pick them up, but someone beat me to it.
My heart pounded in my chest till I looked up to meet familiar blue eyes, my heart slowed down a bit as I jerked my keys from his fingers.
"You're following me now?" I snapped at him, but he didn't say anything. "Whatever." I started to open my door, but Mason grabbed my jaw making me look at him.
"Your neck," was all he said, I moved away from his grip and looked away. "What? You're going to say you fell down the stairs?"
"Just mind your business," I said through my teeth as I opened my car door.
"You know," Mason started making me roll my eyes. "If looks would kill, you'd be a weapon of mass destruction." I looked at him and my eyebrows raised.
"Excuse me?" I asked truly confused.
"I'm sorry, I just lost my number so I was wondering if I could have yours," he said, I was taken back at how smooth he had made this to be.
"Touché, Mason Taylor," I said, he pulled out his phone and held it up.
"Do you have a map? I keep getting lost in your eyes," he said, my face heated up and I grabbed his phone from his hand.
"Ok, enough with the pick up lines," I said as I went to his contacts. I put my number in and handed it back to him. "Ok, smooth criminal, go on with your day." He flashed me a smile and walked away, I got in my car and my phone dinged.
If you were a order at McDonald's, you'd be a McGorgeous.
I rolled my eyes, but a smile crept on my face.
