Chapter Two
For some reason, Louis couldn't get that scene that had happened in the flower shop out of his head. Something about that curly haired boy seemed to be unable to forget about him. But Louis couldn't name it.
In between having to do all the boring and usual tasks like picking out roses and making a flower bouquet for a grave, he kind of missed the unusual task he had to complete yesterday. Which was riddiculous because no one ever asked for a flower bouquet with a message. Especially not with such a harsh message.
But that day, no curly haired boy stormed the flower shop and after his shift was over, Louis went home to his apartment, he shared with his best friend Zayn. He didn't know why he was dissapointed, after all his day had been pretty alright.
As Louis opened the door and walked in, Zayn was sitting on the sofa, his tablet on his slim legs while drawing on it. Zayn was studying design but his main goal was to one day become a renowned comic designer. And if anyone asked Louis, Zayn would deserve to be working at the best comic design company that was out there because Zayn was simply amazing. Unfortunately so far nothing like that had happened.
Also, Zayn was simply beautiful. With his black hair, big brown eyes with a hint of gold, long lashes every girl would kill for, a slim figure and loads of tattoos all over his body he made every other bad boy look like a complete fool besides him. And he didn't even have to try. Which sometimes made it hard for Louis to stand beside him.
Louis, who struggled a bit with being a little bit shorter than most of his friends, his pretty thick thighs and — he always got a bit embarrassed when someone pointed it out — quite the ass. Zayn always mocked him how he had a better bum than any girl he knew but honestly, Louis wasn't sure if that was a compliment. Yet he smiled along because what else would he do.
"'Sup, Lou? How was work?", Zayn asked and looked up from his tablet while Louis kicked off his shoes, threw his jacket somewhere and plopped down next to Zayn on the couch.
"Boring as alwas", Louis replied and Zayn smirked.
"So no mysterious guy coming up to you today to ask you for a bouquet of hate?"
Of course Louis had told Zayn about what had happened yesterday. It had been way too strange to not tell. And Zayn was his only friend more or less so who else would he tell? Louis' phone buzzed and he looked up the message.
Eliza: "Wanna come over?"
"Is it her?" Zayn made no secret out of his dislike over Louis girlfriend. And the feeling was mutual to Eliza who couldn't really stand Zayn either, but she hid it better. Louis never really got an explanation out of Zayn of why he didn't like her and Louis hated that his girlfriend and his best friend didn't get along. He despised standing in the middle of something.
"Yeah."
"I don't get why you're with her." So it was one of those days again.
"And I don't get why you don't like her. She has been nothing but kind to you and she really tried. Something I can't exactly say about you." It was making him sick to overtalk the same topic over and over again.
He liked Eliza a lot. She was gorgous, sweet and caring. They met at their both first day at university and it barely happened to him to find people easy to talk to. And Eliza was easy to talk to. She never pressured him to do anything, even as he told her that he never had a girlfriend before and that he was still a virgin at 19, she was gentle yet funny at the right places and simply perfect. And it made Louis sad that Zayn didn't even try to be nice to her.
"Sorry. I just don't think you two fit. She's nice and everything but it's not who I saw you with."
"Then who did you see me with?", Louis asked, getting even more frustrated at the topic. "Can't you just accept her? We've been together for nearly one year now, despite you claiming that this would end after two weeks. And she makes me happy."
Zayn sighed and played with the pencil between his fingers, something he always did subconciously.
"I know. And I told you that I'm sorry. It's just that we used to spend so much time together and now we don't anymore. We barely even see each other anymore besides the usual hey and bye stuff. You're either at uni, studying, at work or with her. I guess I just feel left out", he admitted and Louis sighed.
"Right, I guess that's true. And I'm sorry. What do you think, this weekend, you and I, like in the good old days? We can go skate and smoke and go to that amazing Sushi restaurant we used to go to. Or play Fifa and order take out, whatever you want. Sounds good?"
Zayn smiled and nodded. "Sounds amazing. Now go see your girlfriend, you wanker."
"See you later, asshole", Louis replied with a grin and unlocked his phone to text Eliza he'd be there in ten.
