Chapter 1
The weather is a bit chilly today, although it is always like that in London. The area is as dry as a desert, but somehow it always manages to rain. It is hard to explain how Jane thinks of the climate of London.
Jane is just a random teenage girl who is a massive pervert and enjoys isolation. Her laziness exceeds ones imagination, and she actually dares to feel proud of it. Her speciality would lie in staring into nothingness for a long time with a blank mind.
Jane stopped staring outside her window, and decided to take a light shower before heading to school. She woke up due to her nightmares again.
Oh, how she longs to sleep peacefully at night, because it's either her nightmares that irritate her, or its her inability to sleep at night. Thus, it's 0539 hours.
She heads for the washroom, already tired. She takes off all her clothes, and enters the shower.
The cold water pouring down her body makes her feel ecstatic.
She finished bathing in about an hour. Walking towards the large mirror inside her washroom, right on top of the washbasin, she started staring at herself.
Her face was somehow round, giving her a childish look; her eyes were fairly large, and her nose was of normal size, not too big nor too small. But her lips were fat. It wasn't so fat that it looked ugly, but it was sort of pouty. Long, wavy black hair covered all of her waist, and ended till the end of her bottom. She is 5 ft 6 in, and she wasn't skinny. A bit chubby, but with curves. Her breasts and bottom were round and normal sized.
Well, that's how she saw herself anyways. Jane is not a very colourful person.
But the unusual thing about her wasn't her suspiciously pale skin, or her super long hair.
It was the tattoo right below her right collarbone. It was a strange flower tattoo that appeared on her 10th birthday. Somewhat creepy, but doesn't matter to her. Not anymore, at least.
Jane wraps a towel around herself, and gets out of the washroom. Dragging her feet towards her closet, she opens it. There are dull clothes neatly folded and placed in order. She picks a half sleeved plain black t-shirt, black jeans which are loose, and a black hoodie.
She wasn't really going for the all-black look, but that was the plainest there was. Her grey stuff needed to be washed, and her white stuff were too eye-catching. She never liked brown, even though that was the plainest. She had other coloured clothes too, but those were not for school. Those were for emergency purposes.
Putting some lip balm on, she wore her grey sneakers and opened her sacred drawer in her dressing table.
Watches.
36 watches of different shapes and sizes and colours and patterns were neatly arranged inside. Jane had a hobby of collecting watches. There were more watches, but she donates away the ones she gets bored of every 3 months.
She chose a plain black watch.
The living room was small but comfortable, with lavender walls and dark purple couches which were beside the balcony and curtains which were on the left side which was covering the glass door that lead to the big balcony. On the right, there was the kitchen, with varieties of tools used for cooking. Her room was to the left, and to the right was her father's room. After he passed away on her 14th birthday, that room turned into her study room.
Her father was the only one for her, because she didn't know of her real mother. She did have a sister, but that was ancient history now.
Her father was a scientist, who researched on the human body. He was always busy, going on meetings or shutting himself inside his room. She didn't mind, because he was always tired and she understood that he didn't have time for her.
His sudden death was a slap-to-reality for her. He died in a car accident, which was one of the most common ways to die. She was very depressed at first, but it was fine now. She didn't cry in front of others when they arrived at her father's funeral, but collapsed when she returned to her now empty house. It is very embarrassing for her to cry in front of others.
Jane makes an omelette for herself, has it swiftly, and heads for school.
K High School is a prestigious school, and she is a scholarship student there. There are thousands of students there, and almost 95% of them are students from extremely rich families and are literally perfect in every ways possible. Jane Zhuravel is not rich, but she is academically brilliant.
She is ranked 1st in her grade.
She hurries towards her school, taking the shortcut, which involves sneaking into some houses balconies and exiting through the entrance. It is alright, since she is never caught. She rushes towards her school, but obviously not running. Her stamina depletes as fast as lightning.
She arrives at her school faster than expected. Fixing her clothes and pulling her hoodie down, she goes towards her classroom, activating her commoner aura. By commoner aura, she means that it's an aura without much presence or significance, so she does not get much attention.
Hello readers! Thank you for reading this chapter! Since this is my first time writing a story, I truly apologise if it wasn't too detailed and proper. 💕💕
