Iris West

Cisco was getting visions from another timeline where Wells confessed that he is the Man in Yellow and he was the one that killed Barry and Mushroom's mother. Together they tried to recreate the moment and get Wells' confession but he was one step ahead of them. He had Hannibal Bates pose as himself to trick Barry and the others so he could escape. Well's had surveillance cameras placed everywhere, their homes, Barry's lab at the police station, even Central City Picture News. He had been watching their every move. Barry dawned his Flash costume and rushed to find Iris before Wells did.

However, instead of taking Iris, he took Eddie prisoner moments before the Flash showed up to help Iris. He promised her that he'll do whatever it takes to get Eddie back. Just then, Iris felt a spark of electricity touch her hand, the only time she felt anything like that was when Barry was in a coma. She pieced things together; Barry Allen, her best friend was the Flash. Wells told Eddie that his real name is Eobard Thawne.

Cisco and Mushroom were both in S.T.A.R labs. Mushroom watched as Cisco was taking apart the camera Wells used to spy on them. Barry walked in seeing what was happening.

"Hey. You planning on keeping all those cameras Wells used to spy on us?" He asked Cisco in disbelief. "Kind of creepy, don't you think?"

"First rule of mechanical engineering, dude. Never waste good tech." Cisco stated making Barry chuckle. One of the monitors went off making Cisco look over. "Central City Gold Reserve's under attack"

"Gold?" Barry and Mushroom asked at the same time.

"That's the case Singh wants us on. I'll be right back" Barry smiled.

"Can I come? Ghost really wants to do some fighting" Mushroom asks.

"If it keeps her in check. Come on then"

Barry grabbed Mushroom's hand and ran out of S.T.A.R labs with them hanging onto him floating as he ran. When they got to the Gold Reserves, they saw a man in heavy armor, a gold mask, and a gun in his hand. Just when Flash was about to attack the guy, he started to hold his head in pain. He saw images of someone being tortured; Ghost tried to help but she heard a high-pitch frequency which made her groan in pain and she saw images of people experimenting on someone. Both of them started to collapse to the ground in pain. The pain soon stopped after a bit as the person in armor got away.

The Flash pulled himself up as he was breathing heavily. "What was that?" He asked.

"I don't know..." Ghost answered as she stood up.

S.T.A.R labs medical area

Caitlyn was doing a check up on Barry and Mushroom to make sure they were both okay.

"Both of your eye movements are normal for each other. No signs of neurological damage." Caitlyn explained.

"Think the thief might have been a meta-human who put the whammy on you two or something?" Cisco asked.

"I don't know," Barry answered before continuing. "When Rainbow Raider got in my head all I felt was anger. But this was not that. This was...just overwhelming fear."

"Rainbow what now?" Mushroom looked at Barry in confusion. He looked over.

"I'll explain later"

Cisco went over to the computer to check the security footage. He noticed that the man in the armor was affected by it too. "So all three of us got hit at the same time? That just doesn't make sense." Mushroom stated.

Just then, Iris appeared walking into the lab. "Then you know how it feels." she said.

Barry and the others look at Iris in complete shock. "Hi Barry. Or should I say The Flash?" Iris spoke.

"Dah-dah, we're dead." Mushroom stated.

Iris and Barry were in the room with the treadmill as Mushroom, Cisco and Caitlin all looked at a monitor of what was happening.

"This is one of the few times I would not wanna be Barry Allen." Cisco commented.

"I wonder what he's gonna say." Caitlyn states.

"We should absolutely not listen in"

"It's none of our business." The 3 were silent for a moment as Mushroom just stared at the screen "But the Flash is our business"

"And Iris did just find out Barry's the Flash."

"So by transitive property, Barry and Iris are our business."

"Are you two done yet?" Mushroom sighs making the two look at them as they unmute the sound on the footage.

Barry asked Iris how she managed to find out; she told Barry that when the Flash touched her the other night, she felt a jolt of electricity. The only other time she ever felt anything like that was when Barry was in the coma after the accident. "I can't believe I didn't figure it out sooner." Iris pointed out.

"I can only imagine how angry you are."

"I'm not angry, Barry. I'm just disappointed. Does Eddie know?"

Barry hesitated for a second before saying, "Yes, he does."

"Is that why he got kidnapped?" Iris asked.

"No, I don't know why Wells took Eddie, I..."

"Dr. Wells is The Man in Yellow?" Iris questioned, interrupting Barry.

"Everything he's been doing, helping me... it was all a lie. Wells killed mine and Mushroom's mom."

Iris stayed silent for a bit as tears formed in her eyes. "Is he gonna kill Eddie?"

"No, he's not. I'm going to get Eddie back. I swear."

"The Flash said the same thing."

"Look, Iris, you have to believe me. There were so many times I wanted to tell you. You were the first person I wanted to tell. But then everything started getting crazy. And I thought maybe Joe was right-"

"Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me that my dad knew and he told you not to tell me?"

"He was trying to protect you. We both were."

"Yeah, well, maybe it's time you both stopped."

Iris got up and walked out with Barry staying in the room. Caitlin and Cisco scrambled to look like they weren't doing anything as Mushroom just raised an eyebrow not even caring if they got caught. Iris didn't even care, she just walked out of the lab and left. "Yeah, I don't think that had anything to do with us." Cisco stated.

"What was your first clue? The fact that she left or that Barry is regretting the fact that he lied to Iris? You boys are something." Mushroom muttered.

S.T.A.R labs sunset

"I just got a call from Joe. The Central City Gold Reserve is about to transport 300 million in gold bars to their Coast City vault." Barry explained as he walked into the cortex with Cisco, Caitlyn and Mushroom. "Singh told Joe they think the man in the mask is gonna make a play for it."

"Okay, but we still don't know if he's responsible for those weird images you both saw," Caitlyn says.

"How are they transporting the gold?" Cisco asks.

The next morning

The police used an ice cream truck to transport the gold and a few policemen in case the masked man showed up. They had just passed a traffic light when the truck hit a landmine that caused an explosion behind the truck making it stop. Cisco alerted Flash about the land mine as he was running to help Joe. The masked man started firing at the policemen, chasing off any bystanders. Joe got lucky and landed a bullet right in the man's shoulder but he was still standing. "Freeze! Drop your weapon!" Joe shouted.

The thief didn't obey and aimed the gun at Joe. Before he could take the shot, Flash zoomed in just in time and elbowed the thief so hard that he hit the truck and fell to the ground. Both Joe and Flash walked towards the thief, Joe removed the mask and the thief was the last person they expected, General Eiling. Flash hadn't seen Eiling since he and Ronnie broke Professor Stein out of that military lab.

S.T.A.R labs pipeline

Joe, Barry, Cailtyn and Mushroom were looking at Eling who was just standing in his cell with a blank stare.

"What is wrong with him?" Barry asked.

"I pulled a bullet out of his shoulder." Caitlin stated

"Which should hurt like hell." Joe commented.

"And it didn't even seem like he felt it. I did a complete body scan, and otherwise, General Eiling is perfectly healthy."

"So why is he just standing there like a robot?"

Cisco walked in. "I just got off the phone A.R.G.U.S. Officially, Eling is on administrative leave."

"And unofficially this dunce is..?" Mushroom asked.

"General Eiling, he likes using metas as weapons for the military. He killed one that could turn anything into a bomb by touch. Then he kidnapped Professor Stein. So this guy is a piece of work." Barry explained.

"And I spoke with Diggle's wife, Lyla, and she said Eiling's been missing for the past three months. And Argus is covering up for it." Cisco spoke up.

"So where has he been since then?" Joe questioned before facing Eiling. "General Eiling, why were you trying to rob the gold reserve?"

But Eiling didn't speak, he just stood there in a daze frozen like a statue. Ghost took over Mushroom's body. "Let me in there and I can get that shitty piece of scum bag to talk." she stated, menacingly.

"Yeah no. We want him alive, thank you. Please hold off the Micheal Myers killing spree." Cisco said.

Barry ignored the two and looked over at Eiling. "General? Do you remember me?" He asked.

"Flash" General Eiling finally spoke.

"Ooh. How does he know you're the Flash?" Joe asked.

"I don't know." Barry answered. "General-"

"Eiling not here." Eiling interrupted. "Eiling...bad."

"Maybe it's some kind of psychotic break presenting itself as dissociative identity disorder?" Caitlyn guessed.

"Caitlin. Caitlin Good."

"Oh, uh, thank you?"

"Mm. Forget multiple personalities. You guys have seen The Exorcist, right?" Cisco comments.

"I was about to say that this gives me that vibe." Mushroom said, back as themselves.

"You two and your movies." Joe says. "Keep talking to him. He seems to respond to you."

Barry turned back towards Eiling. "Uh, why is Eiling bad?" he asked him.

"Eiling hurt us. We hurt Eiling." Eiling slowly replied.

"Okay, uh, so if you're not Eiling, then who are you?"

"I... Am... Grodd. Fear... me." Eiling replied.

"Anyone know what a Grodd is?" Mushroom asked.

"Don't look at me." Barry stated before facing Eiling again, "You said Eiling hurt us. Who's us?"

"Sister... Project... 32."

Barry, Joe, and Mushroom turned to Caitlin and Cisco who were both pale. "You two know something?" Joe asked.

Back at the cortex Caitlin and Cisco showed footage of Grodd who was a gorilla. Cisco explained how 5 years ago Eiling and Wells were working on a project to expand soldiers' cognitive abilities during battle. But they didn't realize Eiling was trying to create super-soldiers with telepathic and telekinetic capabilities. When Wells found out about the terrible experiments Eiling was doing he pulled the plug on the project. Grodd could have also been affected by the same dark matter that affected Barry and Mushroom and that Grodd had been missing since the night of the Particle Accelerator explosion.

"Ok, that answers the first part of what Eiling said. But what about this sister, Project 32?" Barry asked.

"We don't know." Cisco stated, "Wells only knew about Project 32. He never told us about it or what Eiling planned. But when the dark matter hit Grodd, all the drugs and serums that Eiling injected him with could've activated. Maybe the Accelerator explosion created a meta-gorilla. And I think we know what happens when a super-intelligent ape who's pissed off at humans escapes captivity."

"So he's pulling a King Kong or a Planet of the Apes." Mushroom commented.

Caitlin pulled up Grodd's first brain scan that she did on him. The primary motor cortex and broca's area was lit up like a christmas tree from Eiling's experiments. Then she pulled up Eiling's brain scan she did before which was also lit up the same way. Grodd is somehow transmitting neural signals to Eiling's primary motor cortex and controlling him like a puppet.

"What do we think Grodd wants? Revenge?" Barry asks.

"I do not like the fact that Wells rescued Grodd and perhaps Project 32. And I don't think it's a coincidence that this gorilla shows up at the same time we're looking for Wells." Joe says.

"Grodd and Wells did have a special bond." Caitlin states.

"It wouldn't surprise me if Wells was using Grodd to distract us. If we find Grodd, we find Wells. If we fine Wells-"

"We find Eddie." Iris finishes as she walks in.

"You keep just showing up don't you" Mushroom comments.

"And I'm going to help."

"Know anything about gorillas?" Caitlyn asks.

"I just might." Iris stated before pulling up a new article on the monitor. " There have been reports of some sort of animal down in the sewers."

"Like alligators? C.H.U.D.s? R.O.U.S.es? Are Cisco and I the only ones that watch movies around here?" Mushroom complained.

"Anyway, a few months ago, two sewer workers went missing. Some of the search party members reported hearing strange animal-like noises down in the tunnels. Others say that they had hallucinations of their fears or loved ones." Iris explained.

"Where exactly did they go missing?" Barry asks.

"Uh, Fifth Avenue and 10th street"

"There's an access point to the sewers about two blocks east of that intersection." Cisco says as he sits down.

"I'll start there." Barry says.

"Not alone. I'm coming too." Joe states.

"Me too." Mushroom states as they get up.

"Huh. Wading through miles of rats, roaches, and human excrement? Count me out." Cisco says. Everyone just stares at him and he sighs. "Count me in"

"It's your monkey," Joe says as he walks out.

"Come on" Mushroom says as they pull Cisco off his chair.

"Jesus christ, your hands are cold!" He yells as he's dragged along.

The Sewer System

Joe, Barry, Cisco, and Mushroom were now walking in the sewer with helmet flashlight and a video camera showing Caitlin and Iris what they were seeing back at the lab. Joe placed a flare on one of the pipe lines to mark their way back. He then handed the bag to Cisco and told him to drop the flares as they go to leave a trail. Joe took the banana that Cisco was holding then told all three of them to stay close. Little did they know, someone was watching them from a distance.

"I can't believe I'm down here looking for a supernatural gorilla. I'm terrified of regular gorillas." Joe stated in fear.

"Well now, I can cross off a psychic gorilla off my list of supernatural beings." Mushroom said with joy.

"You have a list?" Cisco asked.

Before Mushroom could say anything, there was a loud thud that startled them.

"What was that?" Cisco asked.

Everyone was a bit more on guard as they walked through the sewers. "Hey,hey, guys. Look at this." He pointed to the writing on the wall as he set a flare down. "Incredible."

"Looks like we're in the right place." Barry stated.

"Somebody wanna tell me what we're looking at here?" Joe asks.

"Grodd. He's evolving. He's getting smarter."

"Getting smarter. Great."

As they continued walking they heard some growling. Barry immediately pointed his gun in front of him as well as Joe. Cisco hid behind Mushroom a bit.

"If I hadn't seen Jurassic Park, I wouldn't be nearly as frightened right now." Cisco says.

Loud stomping noises mixed with growls echoed in the tunnels. Joe figured that it must have been a truck passing over but it wasn't. Cisco suddenly heard a familiar voice calling for help, it was his brother Dante. Cisco called out to Dante, asking where he was but he didn't reply. "Are you crazy?" Mushroom stated, "Are you trying to give away our position?"

They saw something move then they shot a tranquilizer dart at it and they heard it howl in pain. They started getting the same high pitched frequency head pain from before, seeing the same images. Mushroom fell to the floor from the pain and fear. Barry goes over to help till he sees the same images as before making him stumble and hold his head. Grodd swipes at Barry, knocking him into the wall and onto the floor. Joe gets in front of everyone and shoots his gun 3 times. Cisco goes to check on the Allen siblings.

"We gotta get out of here" Joe states.

"Barry's out cold and Mushroom is in a lot of pain." Cisco says as he tries to wake up Barry.

Grodd suddenly grabs Joe from the ceiling and pulls him up and away as he screams.

"Joe!" Cisco screamed.

Grodd's hideout

Joe woke up in a different part of the sewers which he assumed was Grodd's lair. He looked around and saw a sewer worker helmet that was covered in blood. Joe was panting and shaking in fear then he saw a silhouette in front of him. Scared, he took out his small gun from his jacket and aimed it at it. But the gun was somehow knocked out of his hand. "Who are you?" he asked, petrified.

Suddenly, a woman that looked like she was in her twenties stepped into the light, she had blue eyes, long black hair, dark skin like Joes', and she was wearing what looked like a tattered hospital gown. But Joe noticed that she walked towards him like an ape, she got closer to his face, inspecting him. "Ok, um, did Grodd kidnap you?" Joe asked.

"Grodd brother." she spoke, telepathically.

"Wait, you're Project 32? You look around my daughter's age. Do you have a name? A real name?"

"Never given one."

"Okay, what are you exactly?"

Before she could answer Joe, they both heard the sounds of stomping feet. Grodd came out as Joe looked over at him. Joe was freaked out seeing Grodd who was bigger than a normal gorilla. "Help! Cisco, help me!" Joe screamed.

"Brother. Scaring human." Project 32 spoke to Grodd telepathically.

"Almost hurt sister. Father hate gun." Grodd spoke to his sister.

"Joe could hear what Grodd was saying in his head. Grodd inched closer towards Joe who was crying and begging Grodd not to hurt him. But he knew that Grodd was talking about Wells and tried to ask if he was down here. Grodd answered him by saying that Wells was here before sniffing Joe. Joe pulled out the banana from his jacket, "Is this what you want? You can have it. It's yours." Joe said as he held out the banana.

But Grodd let out a loud roar right in Joe's face and snarled at him. Joe closed his eyes in fear, expecting Grodd to attack him. "Grodd hate banana." he said, then he just walked away.

Project 32 felt a little guilty about what her brother just did. So she got closer to Joe and slowly took the banana out of his hand. She peeled it with her foot before scraving it down. "Good." she said to Joe.

S.T.A.R labs training room

A monitor was showing Barry's and Mushroom's brains where the primary motor cortex was lit up.

"You're both experiencing a spike of activity in your primary motor cortices. It's the same thing we saw in Eiling. The images you both saw were some kind of psychic attack by Grodd." Caitlin explains.

"Just great." Mushroom says sarcastically.

"First, Eddie gets taken by the man in yellow and now my dad" Iris says.

"We're going to save both of them." Barry says as he gets off the medical bed. "I promise you." He takes off the brain scanner on him. Mushroom takes off theirs as well.

"I put a tracker in the tranq dart Mushroom shot at Grodd with. As soon as it activates-" Cisco is cut off by Barry.

"I can't wait for that. I will search every inch of that sewer if I have to."

"And what happens if you find them?" Caitlyn asks. "What happens if Grodd takes over your mind the same way he did with Eiling?"

"Can you guys build us something? Some kind of tech so he can't get into our head?"

"Us?" Mushrooms asks. Barry nods. Cisco and Caitlin look at each other.

"I don't know." Cisco answers. "Maybe if Doctor Wells were here."

"I don't understand," Iris says. "Every day you guys figure out a way to help people. All of the Flash's powers and all the equipment and you can't save Eddie and my dad?"

"Well it's harder than it looks, Iris." Mushroom says.

Iris rolls her eyes with a sigh as she leaves the room leaving the 4 alone. Barry sighs as he looks at Caitlyn and Cisco.

"We'll figure something out." Caitlyn says.

"Fast." Barry says before leaving the room. Mushrooms gets up and walks after him.

Both of them caught up to Iris who was almost at the elevator. "I can't get that sound out of my head. My dad screaming." Iris stated before turning around to face the Allen siblings. "Why did he insist on going down with you? He's always preaching about being safe, but not once does he think about running into danger himself."

"Iris..."

"No, Barry. He's just a regular cop. He's not some meta-human with superpowers. He's not you."

"You're right, he's not me. " Barry stated. "And this isn't his fault. None of this is his fault. Look, yes, maybe Joe told me not to tell you that I was The Flash, but I didn't have to listen. I could've told you... a hundred times I could've told you, and I didn't."

"And your point?" Mushroom asked, annoyed.

"My point is, Iris has every right to be mad." Barry said, "But don't be mad at your dad. Be mad at me."

"Okay. then explain to me how the person I thought I knew better than anyone has been keeping secrets from me? Big, life-changing secrets? You were supposed to be my best friend, Barry."

"I am your best friend."

"How could you say that when the most important things in your life, things that matter most, things you're supposed to share, you kept them from me? You lied to me about everything."

"I know, Iris. I know. But you haven't been entirely honest with me either."

"What-? What are you talking about?"

"At Christmas, when I told you how I felt, you said you didn't feel the same way. But I just like, I don't know, maybe things aren't that simple." Iris and Barry were silent for a few seconds till Barry spoke again. "Am I wrong?" Iris didn't answer as Barry just nods

"Barry." Mushroom spoke up as the two looked over. "Let's go check on Caitlyn and Cisco."

Barry nods and walks over. He grabs Mushroom's hand as they walk away. Iris just watches the two walk away.

Cisco and Caitlyn had created two anti-telepathy strips, they use magnetic resonance to neutralize any foreign neurological stimulus. So they protect Barry and Mushroom from being mind-controlled, except they have no way of knowing if it actually works. The monitor suddenly beeped, the tracker on Grodd came online so now they have Grodds' location. Barry quickly changed into his suit while Mushroom let Ghost take control. "Finally. Let's kick some gorilla ass!" she shouted.

At the entrance to the sewers

Ghost and the Flash got to the right area they were supposed to be.

"All right, We're in position." The Flash in his earpiece.

"Wait for my signal." Cisco says.

Ghost looked at The Flash as they were waiting. After a bit Cisco gave the signal and before Ghost could ask what he was doing. The Flash took off running.

"Nevermind then." Ghost said.

She did her best to catch up but she got a little lost in the sewer. She heard the sounds of a man whimpering, she followed the sound and she found Joe in a corner whimpering in fear. She reached out towards him but then Project 32 tackled Ghost. "What the hell?!" she screamed.

"Leave! Human, dangerous!" Project 32 shouted, telepathically.

The two were fighting like cats until Joe let out a loud painful groan and they stopped fighting. Project 32 ran towards Joe and looked over him, she touched his ribs then Joe groaned in pain when she applied a small amount of pressure. "Ribs fractured. Brother, too far." she spoke.

"You're telepathic. Are you Project 32?" Ghost asked.

Project 32 nodded her head yes and Ghost was a little surprised. She thought this girl was hurting Joe like Grodd did, but she was actually trying to help. The Flash soon ran in. His eyes widened seeing Project 32. Ghost shakes her to tell him not to attack Project 32.

S.T. A. R Labs Pipeline

After Barry and Mushroom brought Project 32 and Joe back to S.T.A.R Labs, there was still one last problem to take care of, Eiling. Barry opened the pipeline to the cell where Eiling was residing. "Do we have to let him go? Can't we just keep him in there?" Mushroom complained.

"Mushroom, we're better than this." Barry stated.

Mushroom crossed their arms as Barry pressed something to open Eling's cell.

"Your brain scan's normal, which means Grodd is no longer controlling you." Barry informed Eiling. "This prison is for metahumans, so you're free to go."

"Unfortunately." Mushroom mumbles. Barry lightly smacks their arm "ow"

Eiling walked out taking a glance at the two s he walked by. He stops and fully looks over when Barry speaks up.

"You will get what's coming to you eventually."

"I'm not ashamed of my actions, Mr. Allen." Eiling says. He glances at Mushroom who is glaring at him. "You've seen what these metahumans are capable of. Soon your prison won't be enough."

"Not all metahumans are dangerous." Mushroom and Barry speak at the same time. They glance at each other for a moment.

"You're afraid that I know you're the Flash?" Barry is clearly taken aback by what Eiling asks. "Don't get your tights in a twist. I've known for months. I also know that Ghost is your sister. If I wanted to come after either of you, I'd have done it by now."

Eiling turns to leave. Mushroom goes to punch him but Barry grabs them and holds them back.

"No no no." Barry says to them before turning back to Eiling "But you think you're gonna need me."

"Harrison Wells turned me over to those beasts. One used me like a damn puppet. So like it or not, we have a common enemy, you and I. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a gorilla to hunt."

Eiling leaves the pipeline as Mushroom tries to go after him again. Barry grabs them and holds them back.

"Will you just calm down?!" He yells at them.

S.T. A. R Labs Medical Wing

Joe was getting treated by Caitlin while Iris stood over his bedside. Project 32 mostly watched from a distance. Caitlin still couldn't believe that Grodd became so violent. Cisco walked over to Joe, "What was his lair like? Did he eat the banana? Does he like King Kong? He's more of a Planet of the Apes kind of ape?" Cisco questioned.

"Uh, terrifying. No, but she ate it. And I didn't ask." Joe answered.

"Humans, strange." Project 32 spoke telepathically for everyone to hear.

"Do you mind if I talk to my daughter alone?" Joe asked.

Caitlin and Cisco were fine with it, they walked out of the room with Project 32 following them. Project 32 looked around the labs, fascinated with the shiny tech. She was about to touch one of the buttons when Cisco stopped her. "Easy there. Some of this stuff is dangerous." Cisco spoke. "So, you're the famous Project 32. Do you have a real name?"

"No." she said.

"Ok, then."

"Cisco, she can't fully speak. She can only speak telepathically. Eiling did the same thing to her that he did to Grodd. Except, her telekinetic powers had came early without the dark matter. But I did find traces of gorilla DNA in her system. My guess is that Eiling wanted her to be more like Grodd which is why she walks like an ape." Caitlin explained.

"So she's a female Tarzan. Cool."

Mushroom and Barry walk into the cortex. Barry goes to the room where the treadmill is.

"Can you two go check on him? I need to cool down before I punch something."

Cisco and Caitlin nod before leaving to talk to Barry. Mushroom sits down by the desk and puts their face in their hands. Project 32 walked over towards them. "The female Tarzan. Eiling was released."

The color from Project 32's face drains, then she starts getting flashbacks from when Eiling experimented on her, forcing her to obey him and the punishments.
