1 & 2

"Finding Wally was the easy part," I say looking back, "it was leaving that was hard. Last time my journey was with the aid of the Speedforce. This time I was racing against the Speedforce. When Cisco released his hand I called out to Wally..."

Low constant beeping pierced the stale air. The darkness slowly melted into blinding white. Pushing through the white doors a few feet away I recognize the Central City Medical hospital. "Wally!" I shout jogging down the hallway. Glancing in each room i notice that they are all empty. As I reach the end of the hall the beeping gets louder. "Wally," I repeat finally spotting him through the tiny window of one of the rooms. A voice comes from behind me, "you shouldn't have come."

Turning I know who it is or rather whose voice it is. "Laurel." I state knowing that it's the Speedforce. "You know that I can't leave him here. I have to bring him home." "Yes and we know your play," Laurel responds starring at Wally, "but sadly you have a greater purpose than being a placeholder in Savitars prison." Her underling suggestion that Wally's has no greater purpose pisses me off. "I'm getting him out," I tell her pushing past and into Wally's room.

"Wally," I whisper slowly moving toward the broken man in front of me. "Wally," I repeat this time slowly putting my hand on his shoulder. Jerking up Wally turns to me with tears rolling down his face, "Barry," he sobs.

"Once I got Wally to leave the room we were stuck in the hospital hallway. I was about to put my plan into action when the Speedforce presented itself again but this time as Iris."

"Iris ?" I aske momentarily forgetting that I am still in the SpeedForce and the only two real people here and Wally and me. Smiling the Speesforce wearing Iris's smile looks upon a brother. Wally still shaken up is starting blankly at the white walls surrounding the room he just escaped. Iris's voice pierced the air causing me to jump slightly, "what if I make you a deal?"

Looking at Iris Barry can't stop but thinking about his feelings for his past Iris and the fate of the new Iris and with that he nods for her to continue. Maybe there is a way for both of them to leave. "We will take Wally some where safe," Barry goes to protest not liking her plan already. They need to stay together, but she keeps going ignoring him. "A home for the time being he will be set free when you are." She pauses, "you objective Mr. Allen is to find something that is lost."

"Who will take Wally's place?" Is the first question that comes to mind. "He will," she points toward the Black Flash, "until Savitar is returned of course," she say pointedly. "What am I looking for? Why are you helping me?" I ask. Smiling Iris responds, "We are not helping you Barry Allen. You will go through trial worse than hell. We are not aiding you but we are prepared to reward you, shall you complete the task of course." Before I have time to protest or ask what I am looking for again I am in S.T.A.R. Labs.

Chapter 2

"Barry," the voice sounds muddled as if under water. "Barry," as the voice becomes clear it is apparent that it is feminine. "Barry!" Gasping I shoot of the hard surface I was laying on.

"Barry your okay," Caitlin's well manicured hand is rested on my arm. My eyes stray from her hand and to her soft face. "You look just like her."

She has the decency of acting somewhat ashamed, but her facade is soon back in motion. "I was worried about you." Cisco appears in front in the door way, "we all were".

I had thought it was all a joke that I would wake up

Grabbing my shirt, for some reason it was off, and my uniform replaced with jeans, "whats the plan?"

"There have been several heists and crimes. All include different men, crimes, objects, ect." Wanting to get to the point, "Cisco how are they connected then?" He turns to face me with power not present in the real Cisco, "there is one similarity. Figure it out and save one. Fail and loose many."

The riddle didn't make any sense.

"Okay.." thoughts on the riddle I miss the change of scenery. Now I am standing in front of a bank dressed in my Flash gear. "Help! There are men with guns!" A women screams as she runs away from the bank and past me.

"It's like I'm in Jumanji - except the new one and no Rock or singing Jones brother," I say to no one. Walking toward the building I think over the riddle. Find the connection and save one. One life? Fail and save none.

As I enter the building I quickly wonder if like in Jumanji I have more than one life.

A bullet shoots the door an inch away from by shoulder. "Nope. Absolutely not. Only one life."

The robbers are wearing Avengers masks.

The whole thing seemed like a joke. I was starting to go a little crazy

"Come on guys. You can't go around only a few days after Infinity War comes out. What happens if one of you dies? Now I can't have that. Especially you," I point towards Iron Man and at the same time use my speed to disable the impersonator.

"Okay, look I love you guys," looking at Captain America I can't lie, "well not you," He raises his gun and pulls the trigger. I change the direction of the bullets so that they are aimed at Cap's leg, Natasha's shoulder, and Hulks thigh.

"But you can't go around robbing banks especially with Thanos out there." At that point l hear a gun load behind me. Turning I am faced with a very bad Hawkguy mask with a gun pointed at the head of a green eyed ginger. Her eyes take me momentarily back to Earth, but I remind my self that none of this is real.

Her eyes were startling. Her hair red as the suns rays and eyes so bright that they could light a dark world. She was the first thing that felt real. The first thing to not feel like a dream.

Shaking my head I turn back on my act. "Hey you aren't supposed to be in the movie!" Again using my speed I remove the gun from his hand and with rage new to me I throw him against the counter.

"No!" The green eyed women screams. Her voice sends chills down my back and my body reacts, but not fast enough. I missed one of the Avengers. Spider man held a gun to her head as the Speed Force kidnaps my speed. "No! Please," Her eyes connect with mine as she pleads.

I run toward her arm extended I am running in slow motion as the robber dressed ironically as Peter Parker shoots the bullet into her head.

The breath is stolen from my lungs as I watch the Speed Force in the form of a human fall lifeless to the stone floor. The block on my speed releases as soon as the masked man escapes.

Pulling her into my arms I look around the store. No one is there. None of the citizens. None of the fallen hero's. No one. "What is this?" Looking at her eyes it's hard to believe that she isn't real. "What the hell do you want!" I scream.

_____________

After the robbery I didn't return to STAR Labs instead I went to my apartment.

"Barry," Iris's voice comes from behind me keys jingling in her hands. Closing my eyes I block out the sound of the television and listen to her breathing, to the cars outside, the couple arguing in the apartment over. "It's all so real."

"Open your eyes," her soft touch is laid on my cheek. Opening my eyes I see the women I loved for most of my life kneeling before me with adoration in her eyes. Except it isn't her. It will never be her. I lost her because of my own stupidity.

"It is real. This is a test." "A test for what?" My voice begins to raise but she silences me with her thumb on my lips.

"You are strong Barry Allen. Stronger than the others. Most do not even get a moment. You have the will and the power to have a trillion moments. A life of them. But you must be willing to sacrifice." Her lips rest on my forehead.

"We will not trouble you with her body again, but soon you will be faced with the real thing. Remember Barry," she places a finger at the crease by my eyes, "you are a hero."

She disappears just as I appeared this morning. Exhaustion wiped over me.

The next morning I awoke to my SpeedForce paid phone buzzing on the coffee table.

"Hello," my rough voice shocks me. "Barry!" Cecile's voice sends me to my feet. "The court house is under attack. It's- it is a big gorilla. (Beep...)". "Cecile?"

Sometimes it felt so real. Sometimes I would forget that it wasn't. Hearing my loved ones in danger kept me moving. It is what would have driven me to madness.

Reaching the Court House I feel the ground shake with a massive roar. "Really!" I yell at the SpeedForce, "Grodd?!"

Entering the front door I am cautious of the sounds I make. "Look for the similarity." "Ahh!" The assistant of the mayor charges at me from behind the ruble of the low arch that once hung on the ceiling.

Using techniques picked up from Oliver Queen I almost silently knock him out. "Grodd angry," A man in a black robe growls at me. "Hi Judge Grodd," using some of the debris I knock the mind controlled judge unconscious.

"What is the point of this?" I ask the SpeedForce. Again it doesn't respond. "Guess you are to busy building a Hunger Games for Speedsters."

Opening the door or rather pushing it away I walk into the jury room. "Grodd!" The huge gorilla is sitting at the all to small judges seat and he is barking orders. "What the-?"

"This women is charged with animal endangerment," Cecile acts as the prosecutor in Grodd's mind controlled fantasy.

Grodd should have noticed me but something has blocked him from noticing my presence. I move up to the front row. Every row is filled with people.

A women sits on the stand but her face is hidden along with her body under a monstrous fur coat. "Under her command forests have burned. Animals subject to inhumane testing."

I freeze as Grodds massive fist lands on the booth splitting it in two, but my eyes aren't on him they are on the women.

Strays of red hair still out. "Speak!" Grodd demands. "I take full responsibility," Her voice stands strong. "No!" I move from the row. The invisibility cloak is removed as I feel Grodds mind fight mine.

The SpeedForce must have been shielding my mind because when he failed to control me he declared the sentence. "I rule guilty and punishable by immediate death."

His monstrous body leaps from his seat and onto the women.

"No!" My screams fall on deaf ears and I hear the snap of bone and I am once again left in an empty room with the same women dead in my arms.

There is one similarity- her

Figure it out and save one- save who?

Fail and loose many-How

I didn't understand it. How could I save someone in a world made up of a force not human and how could that effect the lives outside?

I held her in my arms until like any movie the scene was forced to change and I found my self walking into STAR Labs.

My head was spinning out of control. I was beginning to forget why I was there. Wally. I need to save Wally. But where is he? What is going on?

"Grodd is gone." Caitlin concludes an apparently lengthy analysis. "What do you mean gone?" I ask. "He just-" "Barry you put him on an island.." she looks at me worryingly. "He just murdered-! And your not-" I cut off as I begin to doubt my self.

I was beginning to forget who I was.

Several heists and villains later I had almost completely forgotten. Each time the women died in my arms. Sometimes she was the victim, others she was part of the crew, and sometimes she was as guilty as she was innocent, but today was different. Today the villain wasn't just anyone it was Killer Frost.

Caitlin held the red head hostage. This version of her was quite confident. She talked back. She was a fighter.

"Let me go!" She squirmed in the cold hands of her captor. "Let her go Caitlin," I warn Killer Frost. "Or what?" Caitlin sneers. I don't have time to respond as the fiery red head pulls her captor over her shoulder.

"Or I'll hurt you." I run up to the women I've watched die countless times. For the first time I lay my hand on her and her heart is still beating. "Don't touch me," her hand slaps mine away.

Using my speed I get us out of the city. "What the hell!" She yells as if I am her captor. She punches me in the chest-hard. "Hey! I'm trying to save you," She is the pattern. "You wanted me to find the one difference right. It's you. You in this form." Turning away from another apparition of the Speed Force my hands pull at my hair.

"Your making me go crazy! What's the point of this?" I turn around to confront the thing that has both Wally and I trapped but am met with a hard object to my jaw.

"Who. the. fuck. are. you. ?" Her words come out in growls. "Are you insane? Mental? From Iron Heights?" Her hands alternates from the sky to her hips.

"I'm-" my eyes narrow, "are you not-". "I am Letty." Her green eyes are on fire with rage.

I didn't understand, but one thing I knew she wasn't the SpeedForce. She was like me. Trapped.

"I'm Barry. Barry Allen. The Flash. I've was trying to save Wally, because I'm a speedster. The Flash-" she takes a deep breath and her arms freeze in the air.

I take a step back as I quickly realize she is trying to not hit me again. "Are you a speedster?" I risk the one question.

"What kinda question is that?" Her eyes turn a darker green as her anger rises. "Yah I have Speed. I just thought tempting fate with an ice bitch was a good way to pass time." I can't help taking a slight step back. She's scary. Her red hair matched her fiery temper just as the unusual combination of her eyes and hair color matched her.

"I'm- I'm sorry," I am in my Flash suit but I feel as if she can see straight through me. "I just figured, because..." another thought formed in my head, "Do you know where we are?"

Again her green eyes flash with annoyance, "Are you dum? We are in Central City." She looks at me for a moment before huffing and turning back towards the city. "What are you going to do walk?"

I didn't know how to tell her that she was stuck in a mystical force.

"Well I'm not going with you that's for certain." Something in me at that point just breaks. "What are you laughing at?" She turns back to find me laughing hysterically for the first time since Flashpoint.

I shake my head. I can't explain it. Maybe I'm loosing it. This whole situation and then meeting her. A fiery red head with bright green eyes and a slight country accent.

And hands on her hips pissed off at the world.

A small smile appears as she fights the corners of her lips raising. "Can you take me back into the city? And then we can forget this." Her tone is calmer and less annoyed.

"Yes," I finally manage to choke out. Picking her up in my arms and after her repositioning my hands I run to the city.

I planned to drop her off in her requested destination but then watch over her. I've already watched her die to many times. She might be another form of the SpeedForce yet something in me is telling me that she is as real as me.

But that day the SpeedForce had other plans. KillerFrost was waiting for us as soon as we crossed into town square.

"Flash!" Caitlin's alter ego shouts. I try to keep Letty in my arms but she has other plans. "You have something that belongs to me."

Sometimes the SpeedForce's thoughts can be clearly heard through the bodies it inhabits and that was definitely from it.

"Why?" I ask. Letty is behind me as I continue to question the game I'm in, "Why is she yours?"

"That's your job to figure out," in that second I feel the Speed drain once more from my body and my heart sinks and Letty steps in front of me just as Caitlin throws a ice dagger at my heart, "Flash".

Letty falls to the ground and Killer Frost escapes with ice steps allowing her to walk over the city. I drop to my knees as the power granted to me by the SpeedForce rushes back. "Letty," I choke as I hold her, "no. Not again." Her eyes began to droop but she whisper, "Don't be stupid Flash."

I know that she doesn't know the irony in her statement. I'm crying over her death despite knowing she is doomed to be reborn tomorrow.

And so it began.
