Chapter 6
Suki's pov
I was dressed in my uniform and my butterfly haori, waiting patiently in the den. Lady Shinobu left for a mission, so Miss Kanao started to brush my hair. She couldn't really style it, but he pinned the longer side of my lopsided bangs to the sid with my butterfly pin. The swordsmith, Haganezuka-san, should be arriving soon with my new swords. I request two swords this time. As much as I respect and admire Lady Shinobu way of killing demons, I need a normal sword made for slicing. Some capable of their own breathing technique and one of the Hashira's Tsuguko should have a way to protect themselves.
"Hello! I'm here for Suki!"
Aoi opened the door and left all three of us alone.
"Hello, Haganezuka-san. I apologize again for the destruction of my previous sword."
"Do not fret about it. That blade is not meant to be blocking attacks like the one you wrote to me about. If you are alive, that means that blade at least prolonged the death you would've suffered. Now, here is the poison injecting sword."
He handed my the new thin, stinger-like blade. The blade turned light blue, just like my last one. I sheathed it into my new butterfly sheath and placed it at my side.
"And here is the best blade I crafted in ten years."
He held out a deep blue sheath with swirls of white coming up from where the tip of the sword lay. I slowly unsheathed it. The blade was slightly curved, but it didn't turn blue like my other sword. It turned a deep emerald green. Kanao and Haganezuka were shocked, but I simply smiled and ran my fingertips along the blade.
"You were right, Haganezuka-san. This is a most lovely piece of workmanship."
I sheath it and strapped it to my waist.
"Why are your swords two different color?!"
I laughed and shrugged my shoulders.
"I haven't the foggiest idea. Though while I am grateful to you Haganezuka-san, I'm afraid I have leave. Kanao, please see to it that he gets fed good food and has a good sleep before he leaves. I'll see you when I return."
I slid my good shoes on and started running at top speeds to the location of the Mugen Train. I reach my destination just before nightfall. Tanjro and Zenitsu were trying to stop Inosuke from attacking the train. I laughed, bringing their attention over to me.
"Suki-san!"
They surrounded me as I bought our tickets from a rather tired looking women and led the three boys into the train. I sat them in their seats and followed the loud yells of "Tasty!" all the way to my darling lover. I sat in the seat next to him, leaning my head against his arm.
"Suki, glad you could make it!"
"Same."
"It was times like this I was thankful for my girlie appearance. I could cuddle Kyo-kun without getting nasty glares from other people. I took one of the bentos he had and ate in amused silence as he pulled out the bento I made for him.
"You didn't eat it yet?"
"No! I wanted to wait for you!"
I took the bento from him and handed him the bottom half first. He created a small flame with his hand, heating up the lukewarm ramen. His eyes bulged out of his head as the ramen steamed up in all it beautiful glory.
"Itadakimasu!"
He ate every piece of ramen without even stopping to compliment it. He finished the ramen in record time.
"TASTY!"
My short hair was flying behind my head with the force he yelled. I laughed and handed him he top half. The top half received the same treatment as the bottom.
"TASTY!"
He yelled once more. Tanjiro and his friends walked over and started talking to Kyo-kun. I tuned most of it out until I heard my name.
"Um, Suki-san?"
"Yes Zenitsu-kun?"
"Why do you have two swords?"
"Oh, well since my last sword got destroyed, I request the same kind, but also one like Kyo-kun's. If my sword gets broken again, or if I need to, I have a backup weapon, just in case. Here, Kyo-kun, I have to use the restroom. Give the conductor my ticket to punch when he comes around."
I kissed his temple and walked away.
<~>
I finished my business, washed my hands, and was now walking back to my seat. Tanjiro sat in my seat, sleeping. His head rested on Kyo-kun's shoulder and Kyo-kun's head on top of Tanjiro's. I smiled at them.
"So cute."
I rubbed both their heads gently, and went to find a blanket or two. I found two blankets in a closet. I left a note before walking back. Five children were now there. Four were sleeping, tied to the boy's' wrists and one was looking around. Each of them held a sharpened spike in their had, so I unsheathed my butterfly sword. I knocked the spike from the awake child's hand and backed him into a seat.
"Oh my~ What a dangerous weapon for such a small child~ Do tell what is happening?"
He was terrified, but kept his mouth shut tightly.
"So be it."
I knocked him out with the hilt of my sword and saw Nezuko trying to wake Tanjiro. She had a small stream of blood dripping down her face as her forehead lit up and headbutted Tanjiro. Tanjiro was sweating and seemingly fighting with himself to wake up. I took out a small vial of smelling salts and broke it under his nose. I was shocked it didn't work. His eyes shot open a moment later, hands flying to his throat.
"Nezu...ko?"
The small girl threw herself at Tanjiro.
"Suki-san! We have to wake the others! Nezuko, can you burn the rope?"
"Mhmm!"
Her tiny hand lit up as she singed the rope from his and a boy's wrist. A young girl tried attack Tanjiro, but she too, was knocked out by my hilt.
"Nezuko. Burn all the rope here. I must wake Kyojuro."
Tanjiro's eyes widened at the lack of the nickname I use so often for my beloved. Nezuko nodded at me and done as I requested. Soon, all the children were awake, but not my Kyo-kun.
"Suki-san! I can smell the demon!"
"Then let's go."
I followed Tanjiro through the opened train cart door to the roof of the train. A androgynous demon stood on top of the first car with Lower Moon Two in his eye.
"Oh? You're the demon slayer that Rokuro almost defeated. This should an easy fight!"
I clenched my teeth and pulled out my more durable sword.
"Tanjiro, stand back."
He looked at me and backed up a couple paces.
"Melody Breathing, First Form,"
I launched myself at the demon with a dangerous glint in my eyes.
"Minim!"
I swung my sword so quickly in an oval-ish shape, that he couldn't block the strike properly. I sliced off his hands without a drop of blood on my blade.
"I may have underestimated you~ Although you cut off these hands, it won't help you much. The body you see before you is nothing more a part of my consciousness. I merged my entire being with this train!"
The demon sunk into the train, reappearing as fleshy clumps.
"Tanjiro, defend against him! I have to help the others!"
I broke through the train car and found the entire car was fleshy and trying to eat the passengers. I slice the clumps with my insect sword, but the poison only lasted temporarily The clumps were back within seconds. I balked and continued slicing. I had to protect the passengers. I surge of heat rushed past me, cutting through the fleshy covered walls and ceiling.
"Kyojuro! Go help Tanjiro! I've got this car!"
He smiled at me, kissed my temple and sped off toward the other cars.
"Melody Breathing, Third Form. Semiquaver!"
One by one, all the passengers in the car I was on, were swiftly and carefully moved into the car with Nezuko and a, strangely still sleeping, Zenitsu.
"Nezuko. Protect them!"
I gathered the rest of the humans and placed them in the same car. Kyojuro saw what I was doing and helped me. A smaller place to protect with a demon, a Mizuoto, a Tsuguko, and a Hashira will ensure all humans safety. We flawlessly protect all the humans.
"Kyo-kun, where is Inosuke?"
"I sent the Boar Headed boy to help Kamado kill the demon!"
"We need to get the humans off the train now! THe demon is merged with the train! If he dies this train goes down too!"
Kyo-kun quickly realised what I said and helped me get every single human off the train, safely outside. I left Zenitsu and Nezuko to protect them from any stray demons looking for an easy meal.
I watched the train go off the rails. Tanjiro and Inosuke flew from the train, so I leapt up and caught them, taking all the fall damage myself. I was pretty winded, but no permanent damage.
Kyo-kun instructed Tanjiro how to stop the bleeding in his stomach. I sighed and relaxed.
"Wel, Kyo-chan. You did it again. Not a single human casualty. I need a drink when we go back."
I started tending the the human passengers injuries. I don't know how it happened but Kyo-kun was fighting Upper Moon Three.
