I continued riding until I didn't even know where I was. Somewhere near a town or city, I hoped. I got off the horse (or fell off it) , then found some stale bread in the saddlebag and fed it to her, leaving a line  of horse saliva on my hand. i wiped it on the grass and then sat down, leaning against a tree, thinking. the sun had almost set, and the sky was a dark blue. you could seee the outlines of the black mountains in the distance. where my parents really dead? i knew, they probably where. was there any chance of survival though? maybe they had escaped or een captured. maybe they would come and get me in the morning, and tell me evrything ws alright. minutes  ago we had been enjoying a fun, peaceful family time together in the beautiful living room that probably didn't exist anymore. it wasn't fair  i thought, but then i reminded myself that many things weren't fair. i pinched myself to make sure that this wasn't just a nightmare. no. i was awake. i tried to think on the positive side. i had a horse. i had escaped. then i remembered. the letter! i pulled it out of my pocket and broke the seal, brushing the was out of my nails. i was about to read but then i paused. it was nighttime. it was dark. then where was the ight coming from? it took me a moment to realize. i looked down and saw that it was the amulet! the circle on the amulet was emitting a soft, blueish glow . what was the circle supposed to be. i looked up and suddenly realized : the moon! the full moon was illuminating the sky as the twinkling stars danced around it. the stars: you could never see the stars from iselon, as even at night there where lights coming from houses and pubs that blocked their's. i knew almost all the stars and constellations becuase the ceiling of our great hall in the mansion was a map of the night sky. anyways, I concentrated on the letter and began to read

i read it again.the first part i understood. but what where "the five schools?" what map? right now was the month of gryphos so i had typhos, lychos, and dragos. three months. but how could i get there? maybe the map .. . but i didn't even know where it was. i checked in the envelope and i found another piece of paper, papyrus instead of parchment this time. i unfolded it carefully. yes, here it was. on top of the old, cracked papyrus written in silver in that glowed in the dark was a map of the entire world. a small turquoise circle was near iselon , a tiny purple swirl in  the black mountainst range, the crosspoint between the grey lands and  in a place labelled "moon mountain monastery" on moon mountain,  a miniature red flame in  the capital of  and a little blue tide symbol  between the siland of nawfar and port Trop and a grey splash of ink in iselon for some reason. a red line, probably a path went fron isles, all around the world. i decided that i would look more tomorrow. so i tied lightning to a tree and fell asleep
